Great Documentary photographers are a rare find as they capture the heart and the essence of the story of your day. Its not just candids, its understanding peoples boundaries, seeing unique compositions, and looking for connections between people. For us, every wedding is approached uniquely, we mingle with guests, we dont approach your wedding the same as the last one as we want to fit in with your vibe. This way you get moments you didnt know happened.
Real couples > Models
Great Editorial photographers are great at getting those magazine style shots, capturing modern trends such as flash photography on a champaign tower. But prospective couples have no idea of the time taken. Any photographer can look amazing after a 5 hour styled shoot with models, but a wedding only lends itself to 10-20 minutes before couples are tired and want to get back to guests. Many editorial style photographers will take couples out for hours, but we dont. That isnt story, that is taking over your special day. Also magazine shots should not look posed, they should feel spontaneous and full of life and personality.
THIS IS YOUR STORY
We put story and a more natural style first without the overposing and taking too much time. Who wants hassle and awkwardness on their wedding day anyway. We are mostly booked through word of mouth and it is why we are booked all over the UK for our work.
We have a team of myself and Ben as well as editors behind the scenes. You will have a choice of Ben when i am unavailable.
Our approach is relaxed, blending with guests, looking for moments, emotions. We also create editorial magazine shots as seen in Tatler and Vogue and we have been featured in many magazines and even on TV. Our aim is make your story sing whether you are, high-energy or more reserved; we read the cues and adapt accordingly.
This is why we are not 'normal' photographers.
