From intimate local weddings to nightlife-inspired club themes, their team of entertainment professionals utilises a modern boutique-style approach that will keep you in the spotlight without using "cheesy", outdated DJ techniques.

The team at Need a DJ? is passionate and creative. The word "average" is not what they're about. They aim to create and show how technology, when used with talent, allows us to change the rules of what people think they know about wedding reception entertainment.

You get the choice of curating your perfect playlist with their "Tinder for party music" app and access to your own portal to ensure everyone involved has all the relevant information ready for the big day.

Bolt-on extras are available, such as uplighting, live pianist, dancing on the clouds, light-up letters and dancefloors, confetti, monogram projection, custom song creation, and more!

Packages can be tailored to suit each couple's requirements.

What is included in the wedding package?

Packages are truly bespoke and built from the ground up to best suit individual requirements Our most common package includes DJ with a sound & Light Show & uplighting matched to your chosen colour

How far in advance should I contact you?

Most couples book when they have chosen a venue as they understand the importance of a good DJ. We only ask for £100 booking fee to secure your date with the balance due 1 month before your date

We use an amazing planning app for your playlist giving you real control of what you want to be played and just as importantly, what you don't. Requests on the night are welcomed or not, your choice!

Absolutely! Our DJ's will have everything they need to have and will always go above and beyond to source anything last minute

What is the length of time of the act?

On average our bookings are 5 hours. A pianist is usually around 2 hours for a wedding breakfast and a live sax player usually 2 x 45 minute sets

How much time do you need to prepare for an act?

Once we have our equipment in the room it usually only takes 30 minutes to be set and ready. This does depend on what services have been booked

Do you do open-air acts?

Yes

Do you charge per hour or per event?

Per event

If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?

Yes

How do you charge extra time?

£50 per half hour for additional time. This would be pre arranged if required

The best DJ around!

I can't thank you guys enough for everything you did for our wedding! 2 weeks later and our friends and family are still talking about the party! My feet hurt for days 😂

We booked need a DJ after first talking with Ryan and had the second Ryan as our DJ. He played everything we asked for and avoided the "typical wedding cheese" that we didn't want. If you're seriously looking for a DJ that truly listens to you and can really get the dancefloor going all night long, stop looking!

The perfect DJ

Ryan (I Need a DJ) was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! He really listened to what we wanted and made sure the music reflected us perfectly. The energy and vibe he brought to the night were incredible — he knew exactly how to keep the dance floor alive and everyone having a great time.

One of the highlights was the way he mixed songs together — the transitions were seamless, and there was one in particular that had all of our guests cheering because it was done so brilliantly. People are still talking about it!

Beyond his skill, Ryan was such a pleasure to work with. He was professional, reassuring, and made us feel completely at ease in the lead-up to the day. On the night itself, he felt more like a friend celebrating with us than just a DJ.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for anyone better. He played a huge part in making our wedding so special and memorable, and we’ll always be grateful for that. If you want a DJ who truly gets what you’re looking for, creates the perfect atmosphere, and keeps your guests buzzing, Ryan is the one!

Made my night!!!!

Ryan and his team made our day so special! Nothing was too much trouble. The set up looked beautiful with the lights and the music was exactly what we wanted. I would recommend to everyone.. he also plays piano so beautifully which is beautiful added on in the day❤️🫶

Best DJ ever!

We didn't want the typical cheesy wedding that we have been to for friends weddings in the past. Ryan got this from the get go and nailed our playlist and added his own touch on it to keep the floor full from the start of our reception to the very last song. He played our first dance again as the last song which we thought was a lovely touch. My partner and I couldn't decide between 2 songs for our first dance so Ryan suggested we use one of the songs for our cake cut! Absolutely amazing service from the beginning to the end, I couldn't recommend need a dj enough and will certainly be using them again for any future parties we may have.

Couldn't have asked for a better DJ experience!

Danny and his fellow DJ (whose name I don't know, huge apologies!) were absolutely amazing on our big day. We felt very reassured in the run up to the wedding as we were able to have a pre-wedding consultation and could email anytime with quick responses. The night was absolutely fabulous, the dance floor was the place to be, Danny kept the tunes coming and did well to keep up with a lot of requests! A particular highlight for me was the mixed cha-cha slide which had us all stumbling in fits of laughter. Thank you so much, for the very reasonably priced package and amazing service I would recommend you to anyone!!

Absolutely Brilliant

Got the dance floor filled at the beginning and even as the night dwindled down kept changing the vibe to suit those dancing and kept us going until the end, ending the night with our first dance song and gave us the chance to dance with our family! Amazing!

Adaptable and Fun

The set and lights he brought were lovely and the room we were in for the disco looked great. The music kept everyone dancing all night and we had a range of everything we were after

Absolutely superb!

Ryan, Danny and Mark are truly fantastic at their job. We had Daniel for our evening music / DJ and Mark who played the piano for our ceremony and wedding breakfast.

Ryan, you have a fantastic team of people and we are so grateful to you all. Mark, your determination to get our song for walking down the aisle just right was incredible and how you played the entire time our wedding breakfast was on was phenomenal and created the perfect ambiance. We really are so thankful that we had you there on our day.

Danny, you energy on the night and getting everyone involved from little ones to the 'big kids' was fantastic.

Excellent DJ services - great tunes and easy to work with!

We had Ryan DJ at our wedding at the start of September and he was a pleasure to work with. We arranged a couple of meetings with him in the run up to our wedding and he was always happy to chat and understand what we were looking for in a DJ.

On the day itself, he was fantastic - he read the room perfectly, ensured a good mix of songs and genres throughout the night (particularly once the older guests had left!) and didn't stray into cheesy wedding DJ territory. He was also really flexible too, for example we weren't sure if we were going to have a first dance and he was happy for us to decide closer to the day.

In short - excellent customer service, fantastic services on the night and great value for money too.

Great communication, piano playing and DJ!

Ryan was fabulous before the ‘big day’ in explaining the options available to us. He was good fun and relaxed, played lovely piano during first half of event (even to our old piano teacher) and played the right songs in the evening to keep the dance floor full - mixing things up when needed. I would enthusiastically recommend Ryan to anyone needing a wedding, or event, DJ!

Bloody excellent!!

Ryan read our guests likes in music! Our dance floor wasn’t ever empty and in fact I danced for 2 hours non stop on my wedding day!! Ryan also played the piano whilst we ate - also excellent!! I’ve never been to a wedding where folk actually say how fab the DJ was!! Ryan won’t let you down - the night was absolutely amazing, none of that DJ talk down the mic and an awesome mix of music keeping our guests dancing all night! We had to open the doors due to the heat in the venue because of us all dancing!! Blinking awesome!! If you want a DJ with a difference Ryan is your man and his ‘roadie’. Thanks Ryan for making our afternoon and night ‘the absolute business’
