About

I am a Sheffield-based wedding celebrant writing and performing weddings and vow renewals for modern, fun couples looking for humour-filled ceremonies. I work mainly across Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire but always happy to travel.

My ceremonies are personal, unique, and memorable events. I specialise in ceremonies that are a mixture of humour and heartfelt.

Services Offered

This is all about the two of you – not what Aunt Mary or Second Cousin Bob wants from a wedding. You have the opportunity to work closely with me to create something that is totally unique and special. A one-off. How cool is that! I’m not a lovey-dovey, hearts and flowers kind of celebrant but I love mixing the traditional elements of a wedding (vows, ring exchange) within a relaxed and humourous ceremony that reflects you both.

I offer a complimentary no obligation introductory meeting (by phone, video call or in person) so you can discover if I will be the perfect celebrant for you (I hope so, I do LOVE a wedding!), interviews to get to know you and the story of your relationship, follow up calls, draft scripts along the way, and the ceremony itself.

You will receive advice and guidance that will give you inspiration and ideas for readings, music, song lyrics, vow examples, and a guide to help you write your vows if you are feeling particularly creative.

Farm wedding with a touch of chaotic charm

Ahhhh, there so much to say about our wedding with Helen it’s hard to know where to start. First thing worth mentioning is that, Helen and our photographer were the first people we contacted and their availability dictated our wedding date - we knew we wanted Helen that much! Helen is an old friend from my days is the wedding trade, and I have already worked with her for a family service a few years ago. She’s the kind of person that just ‘gets who you are’ without you having to explain who you are. Booking secured, we met for coffee for my (now) husband could meet Helen, then the rest of the planning happened remotely over email and zoom as we’re based in France most of the time. The process writing of the service was really lovely and not invasive as I imagine these thing can be - you give Helen as much or as little as you want and she makes the magic. It was a fun part of the planning that brought me and Rup closer together as we turned some of the reading sessions into date nights :) It also allowed us to tell our story in our way, and weave in other bits that might be considered unconventional.

Helen was on hand for a couple of reassuring texts, and a check in to see if she could wear her boots - it was as on our family farm, in a wet and windy field. The answer was a big hard YES (my uncle actually commented saying it was cool seeing the celebrant in para boots 👍🏻) and on the day, she was the perfect mix of calming, energetic, sympathetic and loving. The ceremony was incredible - we’ve had guests say it was one of the best weddings they’ve been too, one saying it was the best since their wedding 42 years ago - which is lovely, but they had been to the weddings of some of our other guests so it was a bit embarrassing haha. My grandad (a lively 75 year old with lots of life left in him I need to add…) gave Helen a hug, told her it was ‘bloody brilliant’ and then proceeded to ask if he could book her for his funeral, followed by a ‘GRANDAAAAD - leave her alone’ whilst we dragged him away. Success, I think…

Helen, thanks for rolling with the chaos and not sitting at the side keeping dry waiting for someone else to sort things out when the extreme rain and wind, even ruined our back up rain plan. You and along with our other suppliers created magic that day. My memory of you running from one tent to another, hair flowing in the wind, will always give me a warning chuckle! X

Ps. A sketch of what the dry weather plan would have been - similar dress! 🩷

Helen is brilliant

A massive shoutout to the amazing Helen Jubb who married us at our surprise wedding (we got everyone to come to our engagement party then got married ??).

What a beautiful process to go through creating a bespoke ceremony just the way we wanted it to be. Helen guided us through it all and helped put what we felt into beautiful words.

Highly recommend Helen for any ceremony or occasion to make it yours ??

Helen - you were brilliant. Thank you ????????
