About

Congratulations! My name is Kristi Jarrett-Hart, founder of Ceremonies by Kristi & Associates, a top-rated wedding and event company originally based in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the United States. I moved to Edinburgh 3 years ago. Business is still booming in the US, in the capable hands of 9 talented professionals. We have hundreds of excellent reviews from our wonderful clients.

I am now offering wedding and event services in the UK: day-of coordinating, speech writing, bespoke florals for purchase or rental (made with high-quality, very realistic artificial or dried flowers), supplies for unity ceremonies (examples: handfasting ties, sand ceremony kits, special stones/rocks to your specifications), handmade decorative and gift items... and more! If you need something, ask. I make most items bespoke. I joyfully serve all couples who intend to enter into a consensual union that does not break any laws. At some point in the future, I may restart decorating services. Since I am just beginning to offer my services in the UK, I will be offering major discounts!

I have performed chaplaincy, officiant, and celebrant duties for 30 years. In the US, hand-writing unique, personalized ceremony scripts and performing legally binding weddings are our most popular offerings. The UK does not recognize my US credentials as a celebrant, and I find the choices for becoming credentialed in the UK too limiting. Therefore, I can only perform non-binding ceremonies as a celebrant, such as a service following a registrar wedding, vow renewals, commitment ceremonies, and handfastings/blessings.

I am a PhD-level writer, a retired midwife, and a current anthropologist/archaeologist and museum specialist. My experience has afforded a unique background for creating unique, deeply personal ceremonies and events. As a universalist, I have significant perspicacity into and sensitivity for widely varied cultures, belief systems, histories, traditions, and more. I have participated in weddings all over the world... even in remote African tribal regions. A few examples of cultures/belief systems I have significant experience with: Pagan, Hindu, Islam, Sufi mysticism, Judaism, Celtic, Druid, most sects of Christianity, Voodoo, secular, agnostic, atheist, Buddhist, Native American, various types of ancestor dedication, Cajun, Creole, Hispanic and indigenous cultures in the Americas, Mayan, Deism, celestially centered, and many more. I can seamlessly weave together interfaith experiences.

I pour the same level of thought and dedication into all services I offer. I am also an artist. If you desire something out of the ordinary—whether it be a centerpiece, beautiful serving items, or a gift—we can work together to turn your visions into reality.

To wrap up, I'm not exclusively serious. I've always been known among my friends and communities as the one person who will do “things” others wouldn't dream of trying. For example, a few years ago in Louisiana, a gentleman from Michigan approached me about helping him put together a surprise "destination" wedding. When it came to the wedding ceremony (after his partner had agreed, of course)... the couple, myself, a photographer, and a "driver" rode a swamp boat for over an hour to reach swamp land that had been devastated by Hurricane Katrina. For 12 years, the government banned most people from entering the area, in order to allow it to heal. The entry restrictions had just been lifted when we reached the area. The water was filled with younger alligators (mostly under 6 feet long) who had never seen boats or people. We had dozens of alligators surrounding our swamp boat (raft), watching this very unique wedding. After the ceremony, the driver (who was also a biologist for the state) reached into the water and pulled a few of the smaller alligators onto the boat. Being very used to living with these amazing creatures (much larger ones!), I knew there was no danger to us or the gators. It took the bride a few minutes to believe us, but she finally posed for some amazing photos with her impromptu reptilian guests! That couple still keeps in touch with me, and they still reminisce about their very unusual wedding!
