Hazel Sharp is based in Glasgow and specialises in bespoke, story-centred wedding blessings that are crafted with warmth, intention, and a deep respect for each couple’s individuality. These are ceremonies designed to celebrate and mark a legal marriage - the legal marriage will be completed before the wedding day with your local registrar. This is a common approach which Hazel will guide you through seamlessly. Her background as a musician gives her a refined sense of timing and audience experience; she knows how to build a moment, when to pause, and how to create a natural emotional arc. She is known for her attentive planning, beautifully crafted writing, and calm, supportive presence on the day. Inclusivity is central to Hazel’s work. As a queer, disabled practitioner and a well-experienced advocate, she approaches every ceremony without assumptions, writing with sensitivity and celebrating each couple exactly as they are. She warmly welcomes neurodiverse couples and those seeking quieter, low-pressure, or access-adjusted ceremonies.

Services Offered

Hazel offers fully personalised wedding blessings, commitment ceremony blessings, and vow renewals across Scotland, each designed from the ground up rather than built from templates. Hazel’s service is highly collaborative. She begins with in-depth conversations to learn the couple’s story, how they met, what they value, and how they want their ceremony to feel, and develops a ceremony script that reflects their voice, personality, and relationship. Every element is shaped with care, from the opening words to personalised vows, symbolic rituals, readings, cultural traditions, humour, and meaningful moments. Each ceremony is crafted with thoughtful attention to structure, tone, and pacing, creating something that feels effortless, meaningful, and true to the couple. Hazel offers complete flexibility: blessings with or without religious references, blended traditions, symbolic acts, unity rituals, handfastings, storytelling-led ceremonies, minimalist styles, or something entirely new. Her goal is simple: to craft a ceremony that feels unapologetically authentic to the couple and to hold the space so they can be fully present in the moment.

If you are getting married in Scotland, your legal marriage must be conducted by a registrar or NRS authorised celebrant. I provide a personalised ceremony or blessing alongside this.

Reviews for Ceremonies by Hazel

We're so glad Hazel was our celebrant

Hazel was a joy to work with throughout the whole process; she was a calming guide as we stressed about our plans. We shared our stories with her, along we our thoughts on what did and did not want for our ceremony, and she came back with a ceremony plan that somehow beautifully, elegantly wove together the core of everything we had discussed. Hazel was very clear that we could go back and forth and refine the draft as many times as we needed to feel really great about the ceremony, but in the end, we only needed the second draft to arrive at exactly what we wanted. Our ceremony on the day was the perfect blend of sweet, funny, heartfelt and sincere. Our guests may have been biased, true, but they too came up to us throughout the day to comment on how fantastic the ceremony was.

We'd strongly recommend working with Hazel for your wedding!

A Ceremony We’ll Never Forget

Hazel was absolutely incredible to work with for our ceremony in Scotland. From our first meeting through the day before the ceremony, she stayed in close correspondence with us and made the entire experience feel personal, thoughtful, and seamless.

She helped create such a beautiful and meaningful ceremony, and told our story in a way that felt genuine, heartfelt, and uniquely “us.” Her warmth, professionalism, and calming presence made the day even more special. We are so grateful for the care and attention she put into every detail and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a truly memorable ceremony experience. Thank you, Hazel!
