Hazel Sharp is based in Glasgow and specialises in bespoke, story-centred wedding blessings that are crafted with warmth, intention, and a deep respect for each couple’s individuality. These are non-legally binding ceremonies designed to complement a separate legal marriage. Her background as a musician gives her a refined sense of timing and audience experience; she knows how to build a moment, when to pause, and how to create a natural emotional arc. She is known for her attentive planning, beautifully crafted writing, and calm, supportive presence on the day. Inclusivity is central to Hazel’s work. As a queer, disabled practitioner and a well-experienced advocate, she approaches every ceremony without assumptions, writing with sensitivity and celebrating each couple exactly as they are. She warmly welcomes neurodiverse couples and those seeking quieter, low-pressure, or access-adjusted ceremonies.
Services Offered
Hazel offers fully personalised wedding blessings, commitment ceremony blessings, and vow renewals across Scotland, each designed from the ground up rather than built from templates. Hazel’s service is highly collaborative. She begins with in-depth conversations to learn the couple’s story, how they met, what they value, and how they want their ceremony to feel, and develops a ceremony script that reflects their voice, personality, and relationship. Every element is shaped with care, from the opening words to personalised vows, symbolic rituals, readings, cultural traditions, humour, and meaningful moments. Each ceremony is crafted with thoughtful attention to structure, tone, and pacing, creating something that feels effortless, meaningful, and true to the couple. Hazel offers complete flexibility: blessings with or without religious references, blended traditions, symbolic acts, unity rituals, handfastings, storytelling-led ceremonies, minimalist styles, or something entirely new. Her goal is simple: to craft a ceremony that feels unapologetically authentic to the couple and to hold the space so they can be fully present in the moment.
If you are getting married in Scotland, your legal marriage must be conducted by a registrar or NRS authorised celebrant. I provide a personalised ceremony or blessing alongside this.
