When disaster strikes, black jacket saves the day.
When I say these guys saved the day... they really did.
Three weeks before our big day it transpired the caterers we had booked couldnt fulfil their end of the deal. No food. No services. Nothing. But then the lovely Adam and his team came to the rescue.
Not only did they recreate our original menu, pull out all the stops with the venue, and take care of LITERALLY everything, they basically became superheroes doing tasks we didn't even know where tasks that needed doing.
On our big day they were incredible. Everything was perfect. The bar, cake, food, trimmings, timings, the whole shebang. The whole team were kind, compassionate, professional, funny, and just darn right good fun. What could've ended in disaster, they made the whole ordeal disappear. I'd even go as far to say I'm glad the previous caterers screwed up, otherwise we'd have never had such a great experience.
We wish the team all the best, but to Adam especially, we will be forever grateful. 10/10.

Excellent, Professional and Personal Touch
We had the most amazing experience with Black Jacket from start to finish. They were truly professional and supportive, and the food was unbelievably good.
Adam was extremely helpful when it came to choosing and organising a wonderful tasting. He allowed us to attend in person and try the various dishes we were thinking of having.
We had a selection of canapés after our ceremony, and Black Jacket served these along with our chosen drinks. Every guest commented on how wonderful the canapés were — and that they wanted more!
As we didn't have more than three vegan/vegetarian guests at our wedding, Black Jackets allowed us to choose from three meat dishes per course. For starters we chose prawn cocktail, chicken and black pudding terrine, and ham hock terrine, all of which were lush. My favourite was the chicken and black pudding terrine.
For our mains, we chose braised beef with garlic mash, chicken breast with dauphinoise potatoes, and pork with pancetta and potato gratin. All of our guests was blown away by the quality. The food was served in almost a ballet of servers bringing everything out piping hot. Black Jacket also served a full menu for our vegan guests, and made sure the two children we had were catered for with whatever they needed. Considering that two of the children had a dairy and soy intolerance at the time, they were able to cook up a storm for the children too!
For dessert we chose vanilla crème brûlée, chocolate brownie, and apple and blackberry crumble. Again, everybody enjoyed the meal — and to not have a single complaint from over one hundred and thirty-five guests is amazing.
In the evening, we had an assortment of finger sandwiches along with chicken satay as a hot menu option, and Black Jackets allowed us to pick and choose whatever we felt was suitable for our guests. Again, they catered for the children, for the vegans, and for anyone with dietary requirements who needed specialised food or meals.
Nicola, who was our main point to contact on the day, was amazing during the build up to the wedding she kept groomzilla (Lee) calm reminded him to be relaxed. We were doing our own decor and black jackets went out of their way to make sure things were in position, and everything looked perfect on the day. For the support given by an Nicola and Adam, we cannot thank them enough.It truly was the best day of our lives.
Two days after Nicola even came to our house yes in Leyton London from Colchester (via the venue Hylands House) to drop off wedding cake to us and some items that we had forgotten. This was very kind of her to do as we were about head on her honeymoon, and just didn't have the time to return all the way to chelmsford.
Black jacket is an excellent company, and we will be using them for any big events In the future, We cannot recommend them highly enough! They are fantastic! We have never witnessed such professionalism from day one till the day after the event. You will not be dissappointed!

Delicious wedding food
Black Jacket catered for our Wedding Breakfast at the Markshall Estate on Thursday 02 April.
We worked with Adam and Joanna in the lead up to the day, tweaking the menu to meet the wider feel of what we wanted from our day.
The communications throughout were fantastic - not only professional and timely, but also supportive to our needs and budget. Even last minute changes to our choices to include vegan options, were no trouble. The team deserve full credit for that!
The payment platform was easy to use and reliable, making the whole process much less stressful.
On the day we were hosted by Adam, Joanna and Kayley, who all went above and beyond to ensure everything was as special as it could be. The presentation of the food was great (we had an afternoon tea style buffet), with care and attention to detail put into each dish.
Both us and our guests enjoyed the savoury and sweet items - which were all of a great standard and taste! In particular the charcuterie board has to be mentioned, as not only did it look stunning, but also tasted divine.
Thank you all at Black Jacket for playing such an important part in making our day so special!
