The founder and creative force behind Wildflower Cake Studio, Lydia has been designing and baking cakes since 2009, drawing on her background in art, fashion, and styling to craft masterpieces that not only taste amazing but also tell a story.

Operating from her purpose-built home baking studio in Fareham, Lydia invites couples to sit down for personal consultations and tastings—an essential part of her process. A self-confessed lover of love, it’s clear that her passion for these milestone celebrations goes beyond just the cake. She enjoys delving into the details of each couple’s big day, from the venue and suppliers to the personal touches they’ve chosen to make the event special.

With a degree in Surface Pattern Design and a Master’s from the London College of Fashion in Buying and Merchandising, Lydia’s journey has been anything but conventional. She began her career in fashion, before moving into the world of food photography as an assistant food stylist. It was through this work—styling food for shoots and collaborating with photographers and stylists—that Lydia honed her eye for detail and design.

Using edible flowers, sugar blooms, fresh petals, and delicate wafer creations, Lydia decorates her cakes with stunning botanicals, transforming each cake into an intricate work of art. But it’s not just about the looks. Lydia is equally dedicated to ensuring her cakes taste as good as they look. Gone are the days of stiff, sugary fondant; Lydia prefers to work with rich, silky ganache and smooth buttercream. Popular combinations include rich chocolate, lemon & elderflower gin and tonic, lemon & raspberry & white chocolate, and Biscoff & blueberry, but there’s something for every taste.

What are the forms of payment?

Your booking is secured with a non refundable £100 deposit. The payments are then can be split into 2 further instalments with the full payment being paid 4 weeks before your wedding date

What areas do you cover?

I deliver across Hampshire and selected surrounding areas. I personally set up every cake to ensure everything is perfect before your guests arrive
