So to start with a positive, the cake looked fantastic and tasted amazing!
I am not usually one to give poor feedback but in this case I feel it is both justified and necessary.
To begin with everything started fine, we had a rough sketch of the cake completed last year and we paid in full quite early on in the process. Unfortunately at the most stressful time just 4 weeks away from our wedding we were unable to contact Megan. Despite multiple emails and instagram messages we simply could not get hold of her to confirm the final design and further details around delivery times etc which was incredibly stressful for an already stressed out bride.
I was eventually able to reach Megan after visiting her address twice, at which point she apologised profusely, however there were details discussed following on from this that were supposed to be sent across to me that I then had to chase up again. I completely understand things happen and there may be mitigating circumstances, but communication is so important and that really was what was the downfall here.
As I said, the cake was fantastic and did arrive when it was supposed to, but the issues around communication unfortunately tarnished the experience for us, and as such I would not recommend to others on this basis.

Megan is super duper lovely and so nice to work with. She was so accommodating and baked and decorator the best wedding cake ever! We had a 2 tier rose and pistachio and lemon and elderflower cake and all the guests loved it so much! Not a single piece was left! Would highly recommend!

Megan created exactly the cake that I wanted for my small wedding with minimal fuss and just the right amount of creative flair. She liaised with my florist to ensure the cake perfectly suited the day and matched my bouquet. The end result was stunning and tasted fantastic too!

Megan is everything we could have ever dreamed of, laid back and easy to chat to - whilst never dropping the ball on the little details. She was genuinely excited to make our cake which made us feel so special. She even went out of her way to source the topper we wanted which made the whole process so easy for us.

Megan is a true professional to her core. I would recommend her to any couple looking for their perfect wedding cake 💖

I would highly recommend anyone to Megan at Butter and Sugar Cakes for their wedding cake. Not only did she produce the most stunning cake exactly to my theme but it tasted incredible. The dark chocolate and pistachio was amazing!
