Karen boasts over 25 years of experience in the beauty industry and loves working with nearlyweds to give them the look they always dreamed of for their big day. She strives to enhance each client's natural beauty and give them confidence and assurance for their walk down the aisle.

Following a career spanning over 25 years, Karen moved from London to Edinburgh in 2020. She worked internationally as a hairdresser & makeup artist for many years in the film, celebrity red carpet events and fashion business. She has worked with clients such as Emilia Fox, Cara Delavigne, Dawn French and Kate Moss. Now based in beautiful Scotland, she offers a bespoke and modern hair and makeup service for brides and their bridal parties. Taking the whole bridal theme and colour scheme into account, Karen works collaboratively with clients to develop their dream bridal hair and makeup design. She offers hair and make-up trials at her Leith-based studio, where she and, if required, her team of professionals can cater for wedding parties of larger sizes.

What is included in the wedding package?
Wedding package is charged at £750. This includes hair & make up for the bride, plus two others. The trial, which is non refundable is £175 in my Leith. Minimum fee is £500
How far in advance should I contact you?
Please contact me at any point, however, I am now taking bookings for 2024 and 2025
Do you work at homes?
Yes
What is the charge for travelling?
I charge 70p per mile if the travel is beyond 20 miles radius of Edinburgh city centre. For international work, all flights or travel are charged to the bride
What is your main business area?
Make up
Could you stay with the bride until the photo shoot?
Yes
How many people can you beautify for one wedding?
There is no real limit to the amount of people that I can work with as if there are more than 3 individuals, with prior knowledge and warning, I can bring in a team of great hair and make up artists
Can you provide your beauty services for pre-wedding and post-wedding photography?
Yes
What are the forms of payment?
Unless otherwise discussed, full payment is made directly into my account before the wedding day to secure the booking. I have a hair and make contract with all payment details available upon booking

Incredible experience
I booked Karen to do makeup for myself and my wedding party. She was incredible to work with and supported me through the entire planning process. She went above and beyond to get products that fit my makeup and skin needs and was receptive to my ideas. She is also incredibly culturally aware and made sure to get a range of colors for my multicultural bridal party. Additionally, she did a wonderful job coordinating with my hair vendor and brought in another hair and makeup artist to support me on my wedding day as my bridal party was quite large. I believe her prices are fair for the level of service and professionalism provided. I highly recommend booking Karen for your wedding.

A true professional
Karen worked with me to create my dream bridal look. From the very first call she was supportive and mindful of my vision. She recommended I do some facials in the lead up to my wedding…. What a difference these made! A true professional who has honed her craft.

Simply brilliant
There really aren’t words for what an amazing woman Karen is. So talented and lovely to match
She did my three young bridesmaids (all aged 13) and they all adored her - she made them look stunning but still 13 year old young girls.
As for the magic she managed on my aged self well - she’s a miracle worker. I hate having my photo taken and she managed to make me feel so confident
I don’t wear a lot of make up so I wanted a natural look and she delivered in spades.

Simply amazing!
I first met Karen about a year before my wedding. At that time I hadn't yet chosen my dress and so had no idea what style/look I was hoping for but I knew I wanted Karen to be my hair & make-up artist on the day. Not only does she have extensive experience, she is passionate about what she does, is so creative and a joy to spend time with as a bonus! When it came time for my trial, I gave little to no direction on what I wanted - other than a pink lip - and yet she created a hairstyle that suited me, with a classic yet relaxed look. Whilst I came away from my trial happy, I was blown away on the day on how my hair & make-up looked, with both holding their own throughout the day which included some rain, 40mph winds and even an evening ceilidh!! Not only did I feel amazing, but Karen also looked after the rest of the wedding party - they looked beautiful and most importantly, like themselves. I would not hesitate to work with Karen again and I'm so glad I found her early on in the wedding preparations.

Couldn’t have asked for better!
Karen was absolutely amazing! She came at the crack of dawn in order to get me ready for my day, put me at so much ease and made me look absolutely beautiful but still so natural and like myself. Karen is the perfect person to make you look like you but better on your wedding day I couldn’t have asked for anyone better.

Wonderful hair & make-up experience
Karen did the hair and makeup for me and my two bridesmaids at my wedding in October.
I came to Karen after having a bad experience at a trial with a different person, where I learnt that the hair-style I'd initially wanted didn't work with the type of hair I have. I was immensely grateful that Karen's years of experience meant that at my trial session we could work with the hair that I have to make a hair-style that fitted what I wanted and made me feel beautiful. On the day, it held up incredibly well, and probably could've lasted for days longer if we hadn't taken it down!
When booking Karen, I also decided to book make-up for me and my bridesmaids due to the breadth of experience that she had. She gave us all confidence to look our best on the day, and created a great natural look for me as someone that doesn't usually wear make-up. She also dealt just as well with the skin tones of the Indian member of our bridal party as with the other two of us with very pale skin.
