A tranquil retreat just outside Buckingham, Winters Tale Country Barn is an exclusive historic wedding venue set in the rolling countryside of North Buckinghamshire. Licensed for civil ceremonies, this serene setting offers a choice of picturesque locations and stylish rustic features. Tucked away in the grounds of a 17th-century farmhouse, you can enjoy a down-to-earth celebration with just the right amount of grandeur.

Facilities and Capacity

Winters Tale Country Barn is steeped in beauty, from the surrounding country gardens to the plush interiors of the main setting. The Secret Gardens beckons photographers from the moment of arrival, with its water feature and whimsical swing. Swept up by vibrant blooms, this is the ideal space for an outdoor session or perhaps an open-air romantic ceremony. Of course, the barn site is the jewel of the venue, boasting vaulted ceilings and dark wooden features that stay true to its centuries-old roots. In this bright, open space, up to 120 guests can enjoy a wedding breakfast before being joined by an additional 80 for a reception under twinkling fairy lights. On the ground floor, a well-stocked bar will keep the guests lively and happy, while the cocktail bar on the gallery invites you to relax in the nearby cosy snug. The large silk-lined marquee adjacent to the barn is a surprisingly sophisticated space with chandeliers and festoon lighting. This light-filled blank canvas makes for a wonderful additional space for drinks, dining, or late-evening entertainment. Close by, you will find a choice of two premier accommodations, including the Ember Eve Barn. This delightfully vintage suite is perfect for the wedding night with its four-poster bed, Victorian slipper bath and private balcony.
