Firstly if you like wine and you want a city wedding, this venue should definitely not be overlooked!

Communication: From our initial meeting that we went to we were treated incredibly well by everyone at Vinoteca. We have had brilliant communication throughout the entire booking process and Vinoteca City was able to accommodate to our wants/needs. We wanted to have a sparkling wine tasting and oysters after the initial canapés for our guests and this wasn’t a problem to have organised. As it got closer to the big day, we were comfortable an able to provide contact details to our other suppliers who worked their magic without us having to be in constant contact which made everything run incredibly smoothly on what could be a stressful day!

Decor: We had visited the venue a few times before the big day, and upon arrival was incredible to see how it had been transformed. It honestly felt like walking into a colourful dream! The venue is one large open plan space, with smart dividers that can be placed anywhere to section it off. This allowed for the ability to plan where everything went with great ease. The window plants, bottles of corks, wine bottles and general colour theme of the venue gave perfect pictures and went perfectly with our theme. There are speakers throughout the venue that we were able to have a Spotify playlist run while ate our meals. We had a couple of friends do a small DJ set and they were set up on the balcony overlooking the dancefloor.

Staff: The staff to put it lightly, were an absolute dream. They were incredibly helpful, cheerful, friendly and professional. We couldn’t have wished for a better team to have served us on the day. Not just the front of house, but the kitchen/back of house performed brilliantly and every single dish that came out of the kitchen was picture perfect.

Food: We started the reception off with 3 different types of oysters which the kitchen was able to accommodate to our delight. It was setup and presented picture perfect. We had opted to give our guests a choice of 3 for each of their courses. All the food came out of the kitchen table by table looked amazing and tasted sensational. We’ve had nothing but rave reviews about the food from everyone that attended and as far as I could tell, everyone had joined the clean plate club! Our request for fish and chips at the end of the evening was perfection and the bride was sad to have not taken up the offer of it as she had asked for this specifically but was so full from the food and cake that didn’t get to sample it. I polished off 3 portions of fish and mushy peas despite not being hungry in the slightest, it was that good.

Drink: For our drinks we started the reception with a 4 sparkling wine taster. Each wine was unique and we ended up continuing with the sparkling red throughout the evening despite having a delightful NZ pinot noir that we had requested for the red for each table. If you get a chance to try the Lambrusco ‘Solco’ NV — Paltrinieri, Emilia Romagna, Italy I would highly recommend it!

Price: We weren’t entirely sure if we were going to go way over budget with the reception and this was possibly one of our biggest concerns. We kept to our budget which were pleased about but considering the quality of the food, drink and service, it was worth absolutely every penny we spent. We were pleased that we had managed to allow drinks to be free flowing throughout the whole afternoon/evening.

All in all, my biggest complaint is that we won’t be getting married again so we can’t enjoy it all over again! I would love to relive the day, and I’m glad we picked this venue. It hit the nail on the head for every single thing that we were looking for and delivered it exactly as we had hoped.

We booked Vinoteca City for our wedding reception and had an amazing day. Throughout the organisation, Alix stayed in contact with us both via email. She was responsive, friendly and flexible. The staff made every effort to accommodate us where possible and went above and beyond what we would expect .
The wedding day the kitchen staff and waiting staff pulled off the delicious service seamlessly, while also seeming to enjoy themselves! Our guests had nothing but positives to say.
We were provided with microphones, spaces to change, storage space and everything else we needed to pull off the day.

We chose Vinoteca because we wanted a lively, modern City restaurant (with an experienced professional kitchen) to host our reception and to set up a contrast with our traditional church wedding. We feel we chose well for the following reasons. First, the food and wine (both what we tasted in preparation and what was served on the day) were excellent, different, and interesting. (For example, the dish we had identified as a potential vegetarian option was so wonderful we ended up choosing it as the main course for all guests.) Secondly, the execution on the day was flawless: the restaurant was beautifully decorated and the service was efficient and courteous. Thirdly, whereas we had previously been concerned that the restaurant space may be too small to accommodate 140 guests comfortably, in fact there was ample space and the slightly crowded bar area before supper gave the party a bustling, exciting, Friday-night energy that would have been harder to generate in a larger space. In short, we are delighted we chose Vinoteca, we have no regrets and we would highly recommend it as a reception venue to anyone (but especially younger wedding parties).

We had our wedding reception at Vinoteca City on Saturday and it was a wonderful event. The food was excellent, delicious canapes (really plentiful), lovely lunch (guests had options) and tasty evening finger food, all with excellent wine. We also had a band so we could party the night away. Vinoteca were super flexible and accommodating and provided a very professional service. The location is awesome too. Big thanks to the team.
