Karen and the rest of the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The venue is most definitely the best option you could go for your wedding! Even the artist, Nick, that was using the venue the day before helped us, just before leaving, to decorate the space for the ceremony! Definitely recommend! We were so lucky we had a sunny day!

We both just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your help in planning our wedding you have been so helpful and accommodating for us which made the planning a lot easier for us. We would also like to thank the 2 event coordinators on the day they were so good to us from start to finish and every single member of staff was so professional on the day which was noticed and commented on by many guests as well as us! The day ran perfectly and the organisation of staff let this happen!

We fell in love with Gileston Manor as soon as we saw it. It's the most beautiful location and really has it all: a sea view, beautiful gardens, a stunning house, various cute animals wandering around (alpacas, cats, peacocks, swans...) and accommodation on site. The marquee can be dressed as you want it and the secret garden was a beautiful spot for our ceremony, although there are several options there for where you can hold your service (including a church in the grounds). The team there are warm and will do anything they can to make your day unique and special. All of our guests loved it, and we absolutely adore the place. We can't recommend it highly enough. We had the most incredible experience at The Bear for our wedding in July 2025. From the very beginning, the team were amazing — so organised, supportive, and full of helpful suggestions on everything from the seating plan to the decorations. They really helped us feel at ease throughout the whole process. On the day itself, we had 110 guests for the day and 160 in the evening, and everything ran seamlessly. The food was absolutely perfect — every guest commented on how much they enjoyed it — and the decorations were laid out beautifully. The little touches, like the Welsh cakes and bars broth served at the drinks reception, went down an absolute treat. The team went above and beyond to look after us and our guests, especially with food requirements which were handled so smoothly and without fuss. We were able to relax knowing everything was in safe hands. A big shout-out to Michael, who looked after us throughout the day and made sure we had everything we needed, and to Klaudia, who welcomed us when we arrived with such warmth and positivity. We truly couldn’t have asked for more — The Bear gave us the best possible day, and we’ll always be grateful for how special they made it. If you’re considering getting married here, don’t hesitate — you’ll be in the very best hands.

We knew Cobbles was the venue for us as soon as we viewed it! We had 38 guests - venue can hold more. The vibe of the venue is boho, laid back, cosy and homely. From the booking to the wedding day the team was so accommodating which made us relaxed for the whole experience and even more excited for the day! The team are amazing, and go above & beyond to make the day perfect. On the wedding day, everything went smoothly (if it didn't, the team hid and resolved any issues without us knowing). They moved guests and vendors smoothly from one room to another and kept the flow of the whole day in check. Accommodation: Plenty of accommodation for guests close by in Bridgend. (few minutes away) Food: The best food! We had a feast of delicious food on large platters for the wedding breakfast (they accommodate dietary requirements), evening street food was also delicious and generous canopies were served! Highly recommend! All the guests had compliments for the staff, venue and food! Do go visit Cobbles if you are considering it as an option!
