We had the most incredible experience at The Bear for our wedding in July 2025. From the very beginning, the team were amazing — so organised, supportive, and full of helpful suggestions on everything from the seating plan to the decorations. They really helped us feel at ease throughout the whole process.
On the day itself, we had 110 guests for the day and 160 in the evening, and everything ran seamlessly. The food was absolutely perfect — every guest commented on how much they enjoyed it — and the decorations were laid out beautifully. The little touches, like the Welsh cakes and bars broth served at the drinks reception, went down an absolute treat.
The team went above and beyond to look after us and our guests, especially with food requirements which were handled so smoothly and without fuss. We were able to relax knowing everything was in safe hands. A big shout-out to Michael, who looked after us throughout the day and made sure we had everything we needed, and to Klaudia, who welcomed us when we arrived with such warmth and positivity.
We truly couldn’t have asked for more — The Bear gave us the best possible day, and we’ll always be grateful for how special they made it. If you’re considering getting married here, don’t hesitate — you’ll be in the very best hands.

Absolueley the best day of my life ever. My wedding day yesterday was amazing. We could not have picked a better venue. The staff were amazing and couldnt do enough for us the food was top class. From the minute we chose the hotel we were always greeted with a warm welcome. The wedding planners allowed us to pick exactly what we wanted and they were never pushy. The Bear Hotel catered to what we wanted for our wedding when other wedding venues did not. All the staff were extremely friendly and informative which made the process very easy in the planning stage. On the day of the wedding the staff could not do enough for us and our guest. I would recommend this venue to any Bride.

Can't recommend the bear hotel enough from start to finish they have been outstanding. Months, weeks and days before the wedding they would answer any questions and solve any problem I had very promptly. The day of wedding I was getting ready in the cottage which was fabulous from the gorgeous clean rooms to the eggs, bacon, juice and much more in the fridge. They rang up in the morning asking if we needed any glasses or any help and let us know they were they if needed. They... came and collected me and helped with all my bags and bridesmaids bags to take me to my bridal room. Then collected me to go down to ceremony. Both rooms reception and ceremony were outstanding. The staff I can't compliment enough so patient qnd warming and the food was amazing. Our wedding guest wouldnt stop saying how beautiful the bear is and how wonderful the food was. Thank you so very much for making our day the most wonderful day of our lives so far.

We got married here on 23/04/2016 and we had an amazing day. The staff were incredible and went above and beyond to make our wedding so special. Had an absolute ball on our wedding day and we are thrilled that we went with the bear for our wedding reception xxx

What a Fantastic Venue!
Had my wedding reception in the St Quentins suite and could not fault a thing. The day was a great success, the best wedding ever some of my guests said!

Georgie was a fantastic matradee, everything was perfect from start to finish. Would recommend this hotel to all. Always ask for George.
