The Tithe Barn is a majestic wedding venue situated within the grounds of Hinton St Mary Estate in Sturminster Newton, North Dorset. This Grade II-listed property offers breathtaking natural surroundings, beautiful gardens, a medieval hall, and an abundance of village charm for a weekend of wedding celebrations. Dry hire is offered over a three-day period.

Facilities and Capacity

The Tithe Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies inside the hall and outside in the extensive gardens of Hinton Manor, with a choice of backdrops for your photographs. St Peter’s Church is also a short walk away, walking distance in fact to the Tithe Barn, our village pub, and our ample car park, making life easy for your guests.

After your marriage vows, we offer the sunken garden for your drinks reception, a walled rose garden with two manicured lawns divided by a lily pond. Enjoy drinks, canapes, and photographs here, as well as speeches if you like, before retiring to the hall for your wedding breakfast. The hall of the Tithe Barn offers a rich and inviting atmosphere for a wedding breakfast with up to 100 guests seated and dancing for 150. Here, the towering vaulted ceiling is adorned with medieval wrought-iron chandeliers, which cast a warm glow across celebrations below and which many decorate with flowers and foliage. For larger parties or those just preferring to dine alfresco, a marquee can be set up in the walled garden for a maximum of 200.

This gives you the freedom to choose your caterers, furniture, bar suppliers, and much more to create your ideal wedding aesthetic.
