It’s honestly so difficult to put into words just how incredible EMH and the whole team are. Looking back, we genuinely cannot imagine having celebrated our wedding anywhere else.
From the moment we walked in and met Anneka and Dusty the cat (RIP), we had a feeling that EMH was going to be the place for us. Anneka made us feel completely at home from the very beginning, and that feeling never went away.
Holly was absolutely incredible throughout the entire journey. She seemed to know what we needed before we even knew we needed it! She spent so much time talking everything through with us, answering every question, reassuring us when we needed it and helping us plan every little detail. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Both Holly and Anneka were so warm, approachable and genuinely lovely that we always felt completely comfortable being ourselves.
They got to know us so well that, by the time our wedding day arrived, we felt like part of the EMH family. Even though they welcome so many couples, they made our wedding feel completely personal and like EMH was our own special place.
The day itself went by far too quickly, but it was absolutely perfect. Everything ran so smoothly, and we know that was largely down to the incredible team. Their attention to detail, care and genuine love for what they do really shines through. Holly and Anneka went above and beyond for us in every possible way, and we honestly don’t know how we’re supposed to say goodbye to them!
The venue itself is simply beautiful. There is something so peaceful about EMH that makes you feel instantly calm the moment you arrive. Getting married in the woods was an absolute dream of ours, and it was even more magical than we could have imagined. Holly also spent so much time helping us plan back-up options in case of rain, which calmed the nerves- although thankfully, we didn’t need them!
Then, as the sun went down and the venue lit up, it became even more magical. It was everything we had dreamed of and more.
The food was also fantastic. The portions were generous, everything was delicious, and so many of our guests commented on how lovely the food was. We also thought EMH offered incredible value for money. The package was so reasonable, and it was really easy to add extras that made the day feel even more like ours. We especially loved adding the cocktail hour — it was such a fun part of the day and something our guests enjoyed.
But ultimately, what makes EMH so special isn’t just the beautiful venue. It’s the people. It’s the way they make you feel like part of a family.
Our wedding day was, without a doubt, the best day of our lives. We were surrounded by the people we love most, in the most beautiful setting, with the most incredible team looking after us every step of the way.
We will forever be grateful to Holly, Anneka and the entire EMH team for helping create memories that we will treasure for the rest of our lives. We genuinely don’t know how to thank them enough, and saying goodbye was hard!
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for making our wedding day so incredibly special. We will cherish our memories of EMH, and of everyone who made our day so perfect, forever.

They were so professional and made it so easy to make the wedding of our dreams come true. We will never forget the most amazing day we had, and to any couples considering them, they would not be disappointed! Xxx -

I honestly don’t know where to start with East Mersea Hall — there are so many reasons I could give them a 100-star review! ⭐️
From the moment we first viewed East Mersea Hall, we just knewit was where we wanted to get married. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, but there is also such a peaceful and calming feeling about the whole place.
We knew we wanted a woodland wedding and, most importantly, we wanted our dog, Riley, to be a huge part of our day. The woodland area at East Mersea Hall was exactly what we were looking for, and the fact that they were so welcoming of Riley was the icing on the cake. 🐾❤️
Originally, I had imagined us having a woodland ceremony followed by a tipi reception, which East Mersea Hall could accommodate. But then we saw the Pavilion, and we completely changed our minds! It was beautiful, with gorgeous views over the lake, and I could instantly picture our reception there.
And then there was the food… WOW! 😍
We chose the BBQ option, and we have had so many of our guests tell us how incredible the food was. Like many brides, I had absolutely no appetite on the day, but I did manage to try a little of everything — and what I tasted was AMAZING! I’m genuinely gutted I couldn’t eat more because it was so good.
If you’re considering the BBQ, you HAVE to have the pulled pork — it was honestly to die for! Our guests also couldn’t stop talking about how good the fish skewers were either!
Throughout the whole build-up to our wedding, our coordinator, Anneka, was absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, and whenever we had a question, she was always there to help. Emails were answered within hours, and she somehow always seemed to know the questions we hadn’t even thought to ask yet!
Then came our wedding day, and Anneka was quite honestly incredible.
She was putting out fires I didn’t even know had happened — and there was one pretty big fire… 😂
One hour before our ceremony, a can of Coke was accidentally knocked over and sprayed all over the bridesmaid dresses. 😱 Anneka found a fix, helped the girls clean the dresses and got them dry, all without me even knowing it had happened! (I only found out three days after the wedding!) 😂
That was Anneka throughout the whole day, though. Things were happening behind the scenes, but she dealt with them before they ever became our problem, which allowed us to just enjoy our day.
There were also so many things she was doing in the background to make things extra special that we would never have thought of. She had a plate of canapés put aside for us so we wouldn’t miss out while we were having pictures taken.
She also did the same when she realised I hadn’t eaten much all day… We got back to the bridal suite at the end of the night and found that she had left us a selection of treats from our dessert table AND a pizza each. 🥹❤️
It was such a small thing, but after such a huge and emotional day, walking into our room and finding that waiting for us honestly meant so much.
And as if all that wasn’t enough, Anneka even came into work early the following morning just to say goodbye to us before we left.
I honestly don’t think we could ever properly thank her for everything she did.
Thanks to Anneka and the whole team at East Mersea Hall, we were able to relax, be present and enjoy every moment of the day.
East Mersea Hall really is a hidden gem, and we genuinely couldn’t recommend it highly enough. If you are considering getting married there, DO IT. You won’t regret it.
And Anneka — thank you for everything you did to make our wedding day so incredibly special. You were such a huge part of making it the most amazing day of our lives, and we will never forget it. ❤️ -

From the very first day we went to see this beautiful paradise, you had our hearts. WHAT. A. PLACE! 😍
We had our perfect wedding day on 27th June 2026, and we honestly couldn’t have chosen a more magical venue.
Holly, Anneka and the whole team have been so much more than our wedding planners. The balance between professional and friend is absolutely spot on. You are always so warm, welcoming and helpful, and the love you showed our little boy Jaxon on every visit was just so sweet. 🥹❤️
Nothing was ever too much. Everything we asked for, you either made happen or came up with something even better. Being reminded throughout the whole process that it was OUR day was so lovely and made us feel completely at ease.
And the food… WOW! 🤤
We chose the BBQ for a relaxed, chilled vibe and it absolutely did not disappoint. The pizza in the evening was the perfect choice and was delicious! 😋 And of course, the cheeky pizzas left in our room for a midnight snack… thank you Holly! 😂🍕
The attention to allergies was also 10/10. We had several guests who are gluten free, but it was never a problem. The meat marinades were already gluten free, and gluten-free pizza and canapés were also provided. It was all so thoughtfully done.
We chose to have our outdoor ceremony in the Walled Garden, and WOW… it was stunning! 🌿🤍 There are so many beautiful options at East Mersea Hall, and every part of the venue is just breathtaking.
The attention to detail is second to none. Every time I see the venue, it gives me goosebumps. From the lake, the boat and the swing, to the beautiful grounds and, of course, the Drunken Duck… it is all just so unbelievably beautiful. 🦆✨
And the location is another reason we loved it so much. We had the most amazing whole weekend with our friends and family staying next door at Coopers Beach. Being so close to our wedding venue before and after the big day made the whole experience even more special.
Honestly, the whole weekend was the best weekend of our lives. ❤️
East Mersea Hall, thank you for giving us memories that we will treasure forever. You will always hold such a special place in our hearts. 🤍

I don’t actually think I have the words to express how INCREDIBLE everything about our wedding day was!!! From the initial booking all the way up until the day!
Anneka was OUTSTANDING!!!!! She couldn’t do enough for us and was so accommodating and flexible when a few things needed adjusting last minute and didn’t make me worry at all. I felt 100% confident in Anneka and her team and I was so right to. They all worked so hard, the day ran so smoothly and Anneka had remembered every single touch and vision I had asked and to see that being created after working so hard over the past year made all of the stressing worth it!!!
Our guests all commented on how amazing our day was, from the food, the running of the day, the grounds and the attention to detail. My husband and I are feeling so incredibly blessed to have had the day of our dreams and we are so sad I cannot go back to re-live it all!
Thank you SO much for everything!!! East Mersea Hall is the best place on earth to get married and we cannot recommend it highly enough! We definitely got our happily ever after.

The absolute best decision we made for our Big Day was to get married at East Mersea Hall. It is by far the most romantic venue I've ever seen for a wedding. Everything went so smoothly on the day all helped by stress-free planning by our Events Manager from start to finish. The staff were so helpful and very professional, they had everything covered. They exceeded every expectation – 10 out of 10 to East Mersea Hall and all the staff! -

WOW, Just Wow!!! If you’re thinking of booking this venue, then do it!! It’ll be the best decision you have ever made!! 2 weeks ago today, me and my husband Charlie, had the most magical wedding day that we could have ever dreamed of 🥹 and it was all thanks to East Mersea Hall & The Staff!! Anneka our wedding planner, is absolutely amazing!! So professional, organised and with you every step of the way! Nothing is too much for her and she helped me pull of so many surprises (a surprise birthday cake, surprise groom, fireworks etc) I could not recommend her enough!! From start to finish, we just had the perfect day, all the little touches, the outside ceremony was stunning, the lake and boat ride is beautiful, the reception and food was amazing and the party and dance floor in the evening was such good vibes!! All of our guests could not believe how beautiful the venue was and how amazing the food and entertainment also were! Everyone has still been talking about it weeks later!! I wish we could relive the day again and again!! But I am so glad we chose EMH as we 100% made the right choice and I’d choose them over and over!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! EMH were incredible! The venue alone is stunning and such a hidden treasure in Mersea, so many people were asking how we found it! We got married outside which was perfect but EMH had a plan for everything. Anneka was particularly amazing and we are so grateful for her support. Compared to other venues in the area, was a lot cheaper and so much was included in the whole price which we were able to pay monthly to spread it out and personally so much more gorgeous than any other venue nearby. We had the best day ever and cannot thank everyone at EMH enough. -
