From our initial, rainy visit, Dovecote Events captivated us. The beautifully lit walkway and warm welcome from Lauren with fizz and canapés in the charming barn immediately impressed. The sliding doors added a cozy touch, and we could envision our ceremony there. The adjoining bar overlooking the courtyard seemed perfect for reception drinks.
Meeting Mel and Matt, we toured the tipi. The enchanting walk, the beautifully laid tables, and the dedicated band/dance floor space sealed the deal. The shepherd hut toilets and outdoor tables were a bonus. Serendipitously, a date had just opened up in August, and Mel and Matt gave us space to discuss it with family. We booked Dovecote within days, feeling no pressure, just excitement.
Mel provided invaluable supplier recommendations and excellent menu options with photos. They readily answered our dietary questions and allowed a choice menu for our guests. Matt and Mel's suggestion to set our RSVP deadline a week early was a lifesaver.
Our tasting was a highlight. The full-size portions were beautifully presented, and Matt and Cece expertly guided us. Cece's insightful questions, especially when we mentioned our cycling theme, sparked our creativity. The pop-up restaurant experience further reinforced our confidence.
Dovecote's barn and tipi are beautifully decorated, enhancing any additional décor. Cece was incredibly helpful with supplier questions, often liaising directly to minimize our stress. She organized a travel visit for our coach company and helped us finalize décor plans during their spring open day.
In our final details meeting, we reviewed everything. Cece's excitement about our ideas made our hard work feel worthwhile. She was also incredibly helpful with the technical aspects, like our seating plan installation.
The day before, we spent four hours setting up our DIY décor. Cece and the team, especially Tom, were on hand to assist. Cece's guidance ensured we didn't overdo it. The "sneak peek" she arranged with my now-husband was a cherished moment.
Cece's calm presence was invaluable throughout the wedding day. She expertly managed the ceremony and whisked us away for our own cocktail and canapés before photos. The confetti shot with a bicycle salute and cycling cowbells was a fun, personal touch.
The walk to the tipi felt like a personal tribute. Our bicycle wheel seating plan looked fantastic. The soft play area for our flower girls during the wedding breakfast was a great idea. The speeches before the meal allowed everyone to relax afterward.
The Dovecote team brought out our wedding breakfast, with Lauren consulting the detailed seating plan to ensure everyone received the correct meal. The bar staff were personable and efficient. The no-corkage policy was a big plus, allowing us to serve a meaningful tribute to my late father-in-law.
Evening guests were warmly welcomed. Cece arranged for the soft play area to become a magic mirror photo booth. The sparkler walk was magical, and the Dovecote team’s help with cleanup was invaluable.
In summary:
Dovecote Events provided the perfect backdrop for our dream wedding. The venue's beauty is undeniable, but it's the exceptional team that truly made our experience unforgettable. From our initial visit to the final moments of our reception, their dedication, seamless teamwork, and genuine enthusiasm were invaluable. They went above and beyond in every aspect, from planning and coordination to ensuring every detail, big or small, was flawlessly executed. Dovecote Events isn't just a stunning venue; it's a place where wedding dreams are brought to life by a truly priceless team. We wholeheartedly recommend them.

We had the most fantastic wedding- From starting with the veiwing of the venue with Cece, to planning with Lauren, the staff could not do enough for us.
Setting up was a breeze, made it so easy for us.
On the wedding day the staff and venue was outstanding, it was everything we wanted and more.
Staff remembered all the little things we have mentioned, went above and beyond for all the guests.
The food was fantastic and so many of our guests commented on how amazing it was.
I couldnt priase the staff enough they really were fantatsic!
The venue itself its beautiful, Alex and I fell in love with it when we veiwed it for the first time!
A massive thank you to Lauren, Cece and the rest of the staff for the most amazing day! Was everything we could of wanted! Thank you! xx -

My Daughters fantastic wedding
Our Daughter announced her wedding day 2 years before the date itself, in this 2 year period she applied many personal touches to make the day as special as possible, what was special about the Dovecote venue and especially the staff members there was their adaptability to work with my Daughter and encompass her requirements, a massive shout out to Cece the events Co Ordinator there and Matt, we knew as Parents our Daughter was in safe hands from day 1 of the 2 years. Thank you indeed for making their day a perfect day. -

Having worked in events it's safe to say the standards were set pretty high for our own wedding. And if we could do it all again...we wouldn't change a single moment.
Our special day at this idyllic venue was flawless and perfect from start to finish. The entire Dovecote team were eager to help bring our vision to life to create the most magical day for us, a day we have waited thirteen years for! This dream team went above and beyond for not only us as a couple, but for all of our guests - it's as if we were an extension of the Dovecote family.
To Mel, Lauren, Helen & Tom - you co-ordinated our day in such a way that the entire day felt stress-free and completely relaxed - we were in entirely safe hands with each and every one of you and felt so at ease! We are deeply grateful to you all for ensuring the day ran smoothly, for guiding us in the run-up to the wedding with your sound advice, for coordinating both our grand entrances, and for being genuinely caring and thoughtful to ensure it really was THE most perfect memorable day.
To Tim & Tim, the incredible Chefs - thankyou for creating such delicious dishes that made it incredibly hard to choose at the food tasting! On the day, the level of detail, the flavours and presentation became a hit with the guests, who are still even weeks later talking about the food!
To Sophia, Charis and all of the bar & waiting staff - you were all simply incredible! Thank you for being so attentive to our guests, going above and beyond to make sure they were all well stocked up on their drinks, canapes, food and comfort, all whilst offering a friendly smile.
And finally to the wonderful Matt - thank you for not only being there on the day continuously checking in with us, but helping us with every step providing extra detail to ensure ourselves and our family were comfortable. Anything we asked of you never seemed too big, you provided a warm caring approach and response, and you always went the extra mile. For that, we will always be grateful to you and we appreciate everything you have done for us as a couple!
This is a beautiful setting for a rustic wedding and we wholeheartedly recommend Dovecote Events.

My Husband and I got married here last month, and it was literally one of the best days of our lives! Everything was perfect! From booking the venue 2 years in advance, until the big day, the communication with Lauren was seamless! No question was too big or too small.
The food tasting and final details meeting were perfect timing in the lead up. Absolutely loved the food tasting evening - it felt super personal and what a treat to try different options! Afterwards we were DREAMING about the food and counting down until we could have it again - the food is INCREDIBLE.
The rest of the staff and team we met were lovely and super helpful, and whenever we went to the venue before the big day they always made sure they had time to have a conversation with us and get to know us as a couple which was just so lovely!
The actual venue itself is just so beautiful, and so reasonably priced for what you get! No hidden fees, no paying extra for crockery, or toilets, or lights (other venue do that! Crazy!) - but with Dovecote, what you see is what you get.
On the day itself, when it was time for the next thing, whether it was confetti throw, or cake cut, staff were on hand to let us know but made absolutely sure there was no rush and to do everything at our pace and enjoy the day how we wanted.

Incredible venue and incredible staff. Nothing was too much to ask for and I can’t thank Lauren and the team enough for making our day go completely perfectly.
Everyone was so attentive and they thought of absolutely everything. Staff got involved in the day and ensured that everyone was enjoying themselves.
All of our guests said how relaxed the whole day was. The food was also INCREDIBLE!! Would highly recommend the barbecue menu.
The venue and surrounding grounds are beautiful and it’s a perfect venue to keep your guests together and happy.

The most magical experience
Could not recommend Dovecote enough!! We chose the venue for our wedding as it provided everything we had hoped for … rural setting, barn ceremony and most importantly a huge tipi. It was an ideal setting for our special day. The beautiful barn was perfect for the ceremony, and the drinks reception afterwards on the patio was relaxed with ample space for guests to sit, the confetti throw and photos. We chose a barbecue meal which was delicious and plentiful. The tipi was perfect with plenty of space for the band and dance floor. The fire pits added an extra touch to make our day special. The weather was also perfect so our day couldn’t have been better! All of the staff we so helpful and friendly from the initial planning stages to the day itself. -

Magical day!
We fell in love with Dovecote immediately. As soon as we got there, the barn, the grounds and the staff showing us around were incredible. We felt so at ease and relaxed we knew from that moment this was our venue. Throughout the whole process the staff were amazing, answered all of our questions, nothing was to much trouble. We had private food tastings, run throughs, and meetings to iron out all the details, Lauren, Cece and the team wee amazing. We chose the barn for our day and it was beautiful, you really didn't need much decor as its got such charm already, the lanterns and candles we chose set of the rustic theme beautifully. We ordered the chargrill sharer menu and the food was just incredible and guests are still talking about how amazing our meal was, you definitely don't go hungry either. If i could redo the whole day i wouldn't change a thing and that really is down to the venue and its staff who make the day run smoothly and go the extra mile whenever its needed, nothing is too much trouble, Lauren, Cece and the team are warm, friendly and attentive and helped make our day so special and memorable. Our wedding was magical, better than we could of dreamed and it's all thanks to Dovecote.
