The most beautiful venue
We got married in Woolas barn in September 2023 and had the most amazing day of our lives. All of our guests made comment on how stunning the venue was, and throughout the whole process James couldn’t have been more helpful. From letting us bring our parents to see the barn, to helping with local accommodation, to lighting and keeping the firepit going through the night, James and the team at Woolas gave us the wedding we had dreamed of. We went for the option with Emily included as our wedding planner which was worth every penny. We wish we could go back and do it all again!We got married in Woolas barn in September 2023 and had the most amazing day of our lives. All of our guests made comment on how stunning the venue was, and throughout the whole process James couldn’t have been more helpful. Janie & Craig Wedding
We booked this venue when there was no roof !! As we could see the love and potential this venue had ! Not only a couples dream but a haven for an interior designer !! The contrast of old and new, rustic and chic it was a dream come true to have the barn literally on the doorstep and being able to watch the barn transform into a wedding venue dreams are made of was a privilege.
The Mills are personable to clients ie the happy couple and proud of their barn and so enthusiastic about the history and what the future holds.
They offer a building that is unique and genuine, and will be hard to beat as a one of wedding destination.
You can creative what ever your heart desires do as much or as little in terms of decor as trust me the setting is beautiful and breathtaking in its rawness.
With an intimate ceremony room and eclectic style this venue will blow you away and you are not short of space !! We had 105 guests - dining - bar - gin tin - indoor and outdoor catering - outdoor dancing and fire pit - games room - photo booth room - chill out area - kids tipi area - bridal room the list goes on and guests are still in awe of the day and events !!
We will treasure our day forever Woolas Barn will be in our hearts forever I could talk and review for days ! We came across this rustic diamond in the rough while desperately trying to find our perfect wedding venue on the outskirts of York. We couldn't believe our luck when a family friend said the Mills were converting their (huge) pig sheds into a wedding venue. Fast forward 12 months and we got married at Woolas Barn on 27th July 2019. Throughout the past 12 months we've witnessed the hardwork, care and attention James and his family have ploughed into the charming venue. It was everything we wished for and more. Incredible setting in the Yorkshire countryside with a grand driveway and views over the countryside. The imposing glass entrance lead into a beautifully restored barn with plenty of original features mixed in with modern touches e.g. James's handmade wooden and steel bar. It easily accommodated all our guests (130-160) on the day which was lucky as it poured with rain. With Woolas Barn you get an amazing venue but you also get time, care and a truly personal touch from James and his family. It's also worth noting that the space is so vast you really can make it your own. The Perfect Place To Celebrate!
I have been to many weddings over the years, but this one stands out for many reasons. It was an incredibly special wedding - one of my best friends was marrying her awesome man - and the location truly couldn’t have been better. The converted barn is full to the brim with character. Spacious, yet snug, this family-run business is the answer to your ‘now where on earth shall we get married?!’ worries!
It’s perfectly designed to accommodate lots of merry guests, with plenty of space to dance, dine, or drink in the ambience from the balcony. The surrounding landscape is Yorkshire at its best. Take a visit and you’ll see exactly what I mean!

Beautiful Venue
Woolas Barn made for a magical venue for Anna & Steve's wedding in September. From start to finish to atmosphere and service was impeccable. An amazing setting and space, the layout made the evening flow wonderfully, from the dining area to the bar and dancefloor in the evening.
