Our wedding day was absolutely perfect, and we can’t thank the team enough! The venue was simply stunning – even in the rain it looked magical, and it was dressed so beautifully. Lauren and Laura truly thought of everything; their attention to detail and support throughout the day were exceptional. From signature cocktails to confetti cannons. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly.
They made our day truly incredible, right down to the smallest details, and we couldn’t have asked for more. It was genuinely the best day of our lives, and we’re already looking forward to coming back to stay in the beautiful suites again soon.
Thank you for making our wedding everything we dreamed of and more! -

From start to finish, it was the most perfect day!
We got married at Abbey House a couple of days ago and it was incredible. I cannot put into words how amazing the team are, Lauren you are fantastic at your job. You go above and beyond & nothing is too much trouble. From the start of the wedding process to the end, she was amazing from replying so quickly, to giving all the information we need & running the day. The other members of the team were great and John really helped make the day run so smoothly. We had a BBQ with our guests the night before and Michael was great setting up our day and hosting our guests. I cannot thank them all enough how perfectly the day went! It was honestly perfect, thank you all so much. Our guests all had the best time & loved the venue and rooms. 🥰🥂 -

We got married at Abbey House Hotel and Gardens in 10th August 2025 and could not have asked for a better day.
We chose Abbey House after attending a wedding open day and being very impressed with the room set-up and wedding coordinators Laura and Lauren.
We then booked our wedding and Laura and Lauren were always on hand to guide us through every step of the process. They took time to get to know us as a couple and had a real understanding of what we wanted from our wedding day.
On the day itself, Laura, Lauren and the team at Abbey House were absolutely amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them. They ensured we and our guests had a fantastic wedding day in a gorgeous setting with excellent food and entertainment.
We had the best day and we are so happy we chose Abbey House for our wedding. -

A Truly Magical Wedding Experience 🌟 Date of Wedding: 5th July 2025 Venue: Abbey House Hotel and Gardens, Barrow-in-Furness
Where do I even begin? Abbey House Hotel and Gardens is truly something else. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything was absolutely perfect. The venue itself is simply stunning – beautifully maintained grounds, elegant interiors, and an atmosphere that made our special day feel like something out of a fairytale.
But what made it unforgettable were the people. Every single member of staff was warm, friendly, and went out of their way to make us feel special – right down to the amazing housekeeping team.
I want to say a heartfelt thank you to Lauren and Laura, our wedding coordinators. These two incredible women were the calm in the chaos. From our very first meeting, they had a gentle, reassuring presence that made us feel instantly at ease. Through all the planning, questions, and last-minute worries, they were there – steady, kind, and always ready to help. It felt like having two friends by our side who genuinely cared about making our day perfect. I honestly don’t know how we would have managed without them.
Also, a special mention to Angie, one of the housekeepers – such a lovely, down-to-earth woman who brightened every morning with her smile – and to the manager, whose professionalism and attention to detail did not go unnoticed.
I truly can’t recommend Abbey House Hotel and Gardens enough. It’s a breathtaking venue, but it’s the people who make it magical. They gave us the wedding of our dreams – and memories we’ll treasure for a lifetime.
And to the whole Abbey House team – you weren’t just part of our wedding… you’re now part of our story. Thank you for everything.

Abbey House Hotel hosted our wedding back in August with the build up to the event stress free with complete ownership, leaving nothing to chance. What an events team, no problem too small, a real asset in Laura, Lauren and Rob, highly recommended!
We cannot forget the bar team who look after us for the whole weekend, with a specific mention for Michael, assisted at every stage, with several friends and family needs to address.
The while process of wedding organisation was seamless with a clear set of options, all built from a discussion around our likes, all made perfect by the events team. Thank you for the memories and assisting our special day!

Our Winter Wedding 🤍
From meeting Lauren at the Lake District Wedding show to having our first breakfast as a married couple, the whole process was just incredible & faultless.
I had a list of places that I dreamt of getting married, but after visiting Abbey House, we completely fell in love. The food, the rooms, the staff, the grounds & the whole feel of the place really took us by surprise. Every excuse to visit the venue on the lead up to the wedding we took & by the time the day came, we felt at home.
Lauren, Laura & Rob, along with all of the other staff that we met & that contributed to our big day, we honestly can’t thank enough. Nothing was too much to ask & they made everything so easy. We had the best day & I really wish we could experience it all over again.
To be completely honest, Lauren was our biggest reason for booking this place & we will be forever grateful for everything she did 🤍 -

The most perfect day!
We had the most amazing wedding at Abbey House on Sunday 18th August. I could not thank the wedding team enough, especially Lauren who was like a breath of fresh air from the beginning to end. I really feel like the day would not of been possible without all her and the teams hard work. Lauren answered all my questions quickly and nothing was to much trouble. On the big day Rob and Lauren made myself and Daniel feel so at ease so we were just able to enjoy our day. The staff at Abbey House were first class, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The whole day was absolutely perfect and Lauren really is the best in the business, we will be forever grateful to her for making our big day come together! -
