Me and my now husband got married at Minstrel Court on Monday 22nd of September and it was honestly the most perfect day. The venue is stunning! From the ceremony at the lake pavilion to our reception in the tudor barn. All of the guests commented on how beautiful the venue was! Terri the wedding coordinator at Minstrel Court couldn't have been more helpful! She was always at the end of the phone for anything we needed through the lead up to the big day. We had several meetings with her to go over plans and she was there on the day to make sure everything ran smoothly! Thank you Terri! If you are looking for a beautiful venue and great wedding coordinator I can't recommend Minstrel Court highly enough! The theme for our wedding was woodland magic and it was just the perfect setting! Thank you for making our day so special 🩷

After a few communication issues with previous coordinators at the venue, along came Teri 🙌🏻 she booked in meetings and went through every detail with us to ensure our day was perfect.

From the bottom of our hearts, we couldn't thank the team at Minstrel Court enough. Teri went above and beyond to ensure we had the most perfect magical day. it was everything we dreamed of and more. The venue and surroundings are simply stunning. Best day of our lives. Teri you and your team are fabulous 🥰

We recently celebrated a 50th birthday at Minstrel Court, and I can honestly say—it was unforgettable. From the moment we started planning, to the regular visits to the venue, to the actually day when our guests arrived, the venue radiated charm and elegance. Nestled in the Cambridgeshire countryside, Minstrel Court offers a stunning lakeside setting that feels like stepping into a storybook. Our guests could not stop talking about the beautiful scenery.
The Minstrel Court team were phenomenal, especially Teri, who really made the venue amazing to use. From the very first planning meeting, Teri was a dream to work with. She’s the kind of person who instantly puts you at ease—warm, organized, and genuinely invested in making our event perfect. Her attention to detail and calm confidence made the entire process feel effortless she was attentive, professional, and genuinely invested in making the day special. She handled things seamlessly, allowing us to relax and enjoy the celebration without a hitch.

We had the most wonderful experience at minstrel court for our wedding. We hired the house so I could stay with my bridesmaids the night before and we were able to get ready together in the bridal salon 🤩 it was such a special experience I felt like such a princess.
We also hired the house for the night of wedding so me and the groom and our close family got to stay in luxury all together enjoying the hot tub at midnight!
The added touch of the rental properties out the front of the house were also a great touch for our wedding as we had family who booked themselves in for the night of the wedding
Waking at the venue the day after wedding was just beautiful sipping my tea while sat by the lake it was picture perfect
The wedding venue was absolutely stunning which was commented on by most guests. Everything you need is all on same grounds which makes for a even more perfect day with just a walk from the beautiful pavilion where we had our ceremony to the wedding venue where our celebrations began
The staff were amazing there was nothing they couldn’t sort for us they really made it so smooth flowing for us especially Teri and Frank such a great team I could not think of anywhere else I would like to get married their touch was personal and professional!
Minstrel court for us was a dream come true wedding in so many way ♥️♥️

We do not recommend Minstrel court - Despite the beautiful setting, the management of the venue ruined our entire wedding planning experience, and some of our wedding day in itself.

In our opinion, our wedding day was successful despite the management team at the venue. We had to take things in to our own hands that should've been sorted by the venue and even felt that we had to hire an external coordinator to help our day run smoothly as the team at the venue gave us no confidence at all. That being said, our issue was more with the owners / management of the venue, rather than the workers.

Staffing:

We were informed that the first two coordinators were providing us with information that was incorrect, but later found out that the information was correct but the management / owners of the venue kept changing pricing, what was included in the wedding, etc. We were also left completed in the dark regarding one of the coordinators who was, according to the venue, off sick and then couldn't be reached, and then later found out only by contacting the person, that they had been off due to serious health reasons and would not be returning to the venue. Being left in the dark by the venue about this, (as we were lead to believe she would still be attending and coordinating our wedding day) and it being around 1 month until our wedding day added so much additional / unnecessary stress.

We have spoken to previous staff after they had left the venue and they have both confirmed how disorganised and mismanaged the venue is.

Accommodation:

We were originally planning on staying at the venues accommodations, we ended up deciding against this due to the constant misinformation against the pricing of the accommodation, in addition to this, included in our wedding package we were supposed to have the barns which we had already planned around and assigned to certain guests, we were then informed that these were going to be knocked down prior to our wedding and could not be used. These were still standing on our wedding day. The venue did attempt to compensate for this by offering us some of the horse barns, however, due to the extortionate price (at the time) for the ones not included, we ultimately decided we didn't want the stress and to be messed about even more, which added to our decided to stay off site.

On our wedding day:
Whilst we are mostly happy with how our wedding day went, it was not without hiccups caused by the staff and the management.

The dogs were an issue discussed the day before the wedding where we were assured they would not be let out. We then had 3 dogs run into our wedding. Tesh then brazenly walked to “get them”, and with the lack of control we had to hold Natalie’s wedding dress around her mid section to stop them from ruining it. Tesh did not apologise for this, and he seemed frustrated we were asking for the dogs to be put away. I will add that one of these dogs is Tesh's. None were involved in the wedding or were associated in any way.

Dog poo had to be REQUESTED to be picked up by 3 separate people before it was dealt with on the wedding morning. This is literally inexcusable.

They were also putting up fencing up to 1 hour before the wedding - fencing we were told was completed 2 weeks prior. This was a bold faced lie.

The day before our wedding:
The venue was also not prepared for us to be there each time we visited, resulting in having to ask 4 times for our things to be brought out the day before the wedding, and the venue was so disorganised it caused the bride to be tearful.

Tesh questioned the best man and bridesmaid, exactly quoting “is she always like this”, when Natalie was upset. Tesh had caused this upset, with lack of helpfulness. Tesh did not say anything of this nature to the me in person. As context, I am a patient teacher who deals with difficult people every day - this was a whole new level of difficult. Even so, I was considerate of his family, his experience, and to be kind up until the day before my wedding where they acted as if it wasn't even on their mind.

Break down of venue:
The venue was not broken down the day after, despite us paying for this and having this confirmed by the staff ON THE DAY as well as prior, in front of several vendors. It was left solely to the bride and groom to do. Complete lack of professionalism.

Tesh (current manager):
Tesh has been a big problem, discussing the lack of need for a wedding coordinator, comparing weddings to retail (which is preposterous), and boasting that minstrel court do not need to be involved in the weddings, they only need to provide basics. This was an extremely incorrect statement, and it should not be said in front of clients. Tesh was a large problem, even asking for a photo with myself and my husband 5 minutes after we had gotten married - we were not able to say no to this, and we have not seen any of the several photos taken by himself or his staff.

We were told that storing wedding materials 3 weeks before was treated as though it was an “exception” and not the norm - this completely undermined the meetings had. We were made to feel as an inconvenience, not as paying clients.

Staff were also sat in the bar on our wedding day - on laptops, eating food. This was NOT acceptable, and several guests commented on this fact. We had complete hire of this area of the venue. This was absolutely not ok, and is a pattern among other weddings had here as well.

Severe training is needed with staff, on conduct with clients, how to run weddings, and how to have serious professionalism. The entirety of minstrel court and our experience has been problem after problem, with no ownership.


Minstrel court were sent this review, and given time to respond. They did not offer any apologies about our experience, or any justifications. I have spoken to 6 brides, who all have had the same experience (specifically dogs and management).

This impacted our mental health beyond belief, and I truly do not believe those who own and manage this place are doing it even 1/100th of the justice it deserves.

We are expecting follow up with the venue about how they have addressed their massive failings as a venue, but also as how to treat other human beings.

With two ceremony spaces and two dining areas to choose from (all 4 of which are beautiful!), Minstrel Court also has stunning grounds and a lake which provided the most picturesque backdrop for our ceremony and reception.

What truly set Minstrel Court apart for us, was their unparalleled flexibility and commitment to making our dream wedding day a reality. From the moment we expressed interest in the venue, they were incredibly accommodating and supportive of our ideas. Whether it was customizing the layout of our reception space or accommodating special requests, they went above and beyond to ensure that our day was exactly how we envisioned it.

From the very beginning, Minstrel Court were transparent with their costs, leaving no room for hidden surprises. This level of honesty and integrity was incredibly refreshing in an industry where transparency can sometimes be lacking. They worked closely with us to ensure that our budget was respected while still delivering a wedding experience that was everything we had dreamt of and more!

A huge part of our positive experience at Minstrel Court can be attributed to our wedding planner, Amber. From our initial consultation to the final moments of our wedding day, Amber was a joy to work with. Her impeccable communication skills and attention to detail made the planning process seamless and stress-free. No task was too big or too small for her, and her dedication to making our day perfect was evident every step of the way.

In conclusion, Minstrel Court was the perfect venue for our wedding day. We wholeheartedly recommend them to any couple looking for a wedding venue that not only delivers on beauty and service but also operates with flexibility and transparency.
