Located in the lost village of Godwick, Godwick Great Barn is set amongst a picturesque, English landscape, complete with its own set of ancient ruins.
Godwick Great Barn is a truly unique 450 year old Grade II listed wedding and event venue in Norfolk that combines oodles of history and magnificence within a wonderful ancient rural landscape.
Set in 100 acres of parkland, Godwick is a blank canvas venue that can be tailored to suit your own requirements with plenty of outside space for stunning photographs, entertaining, garden games, outside ceremonies and wonderful onsite accommodation.
It is licensed for wedding ceremonies both inside and outside, so you can hold your whole day at Godwick. The Great Barn has a rustic authenticity with polished concrete floor and tasteful new additions giving contemporary facilities, posh loos, modern kitchen space, reception area and bespoke bar.
Godwick has never been an ordinary venue. Quirky, eccentric, but always wonderfully glorious. It’s the perfect place to get married or to celebrate your wedding.

- The party doesn't have to stop for some lucky guests - we have 7 gorgeous bedrooms at Godwick Hall, 3 quirky Shepherd's Huts, two wonderful staragzer bell tents and the Old Stables next door. In all we can sleep up to 30 adults on site.
- Godwick Hall is the centre of the accommodation (and is itself a small wedding venue for upto 25 guests) boasts an outdoor heated swimming pool open from June to the end of Septemnber and a games room equipped with a snooker table.

Our wedding at Godwick
Choosing Godwick as our wedding venue was the best decision we could have made. We loved absolutely everything about the barn and the accommodation. Hannah provided us with such valuable support and really went above and beyond to ensure that everything went smoothly both in the lead up to the wedding and on the day. She was a pleasure to work with and made us feel confident that our day would be a success. It was such a highlight to be able to have our families and closest friends be able to stay at the venue with a particular highlight being the bridal party being able to use the Stables to get ready on the day and be able to fully debrief with everyone on the Sunday! The Great Barn was a magical venue and totally exceeded our expectations. We are so grateful to the entire team at Godwick for enabling us to have such an incredible wedding day!

Getting married at Godwick was just a dream. The venue itself is absolutely stunning and the staff know exactly what they are doing to keep you on track & help in anyway they can through the planning process right up to your big day making sure it runs exactly how you would like it too. We had the best day and really couldn’t be happier!

Perfect elopement at Godwick
The most special day. Just us and our 2 children. It was so magical, enjoyed every moment. I’m so so happy we decided to have it at Godwick hall, The room was perfect, very cosy and intimate on a gloomy autumnal day. The staff were so lovely and welcoming, made us feel right at home.

Beautiful and easy going
The elopement venue, The Drawing Room, was stunning and perfect for a small elopement. We stayed in the Norfolk Horn Shepards hut which was cosy, warm and peaceful - perfect for our pre and post elopement stay. Only which we’d stayed longer!

What a day!!!
We can’t thank the team at Godwick for hosting our wedding. Nothing was too much of an ask and everything was handled professionally and efficiently. The venue is just stunning, and the team are super flexible with what suppliers you can use which is often not the case with many other venues. Accommodation is simply gorgeous, and housed all our family. We feel super lucky to have had the experience we had with our family and friends. Wish we could do it all again!

Pure Magic
Where do we start about this incredible venue and superb team?
We were completely taken with the Barn and its unique surroundings when we had our first meeting with James and after taking a look around Godwick Hall, the stables and shepherds huts there was no question that we knew this was where we wanted to get married and it did not disappoint.
Every guest who celebrated with us was blown away by how beautiful the venue was. Our family and friends who were able to stay with us and share all the accommodation on site had the most amazing long weekend which was the perfect way to extend the celebrations.
Our event co-ordinator, Megan, couldn't have been more helpful and supportive throughout the whole process and under Megan's supervision the day was completely perfect and we felt so lucky it was ours!
We will be recommending Godwick to anyone we can, not just for a wedding but for a special and memorable weekend away and we so hope to be back soon to relive the amazing memories we made.

What an incredible venue!
Such an incredible day and venue. The entire experience with Godwick was positive, calm and thought-through. The staff are fabulous - especially James the owner, as well as Debbie-Lee one of the Event Managers. Always on hand to help, nothing is too much trouble. It felt personal to us the whole weekend, whilst showcasing the fact that they are experts at what they do - creating great weddings and making people very very happy! Thanks Godwick team :-)

Just us and the dogs - a magical elopement at Godwick!
Godwick Hall is a gorgeous place, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the venue and the team.
Our elopement wedding in May 2024 was better than we could have ever imagined - a beautiful venue with the most lovely people who were genuinely invested in making our day as magical as it could possibly be.
The response from James to our initial enquiry was prompt and helpful. The elopement package included accommodation in a shepherd's hut, which looked lovely, but wasn't suitable for our two dogs, Maisy & Raffy. There was no issue with upgrading to the Old Stables, which was an absolutely beautiful, spacious, calming place to stay, and to get ready on our wedding day.
Once we had the wedding date & time booked, the wonderful Debbie-Lee arranged calls to talk us through how our day would work, things we might want to consider and options for local suppliers; and then kept in touch to see how we were doing and to make sure that everything was covered as the day got nearer. Super dog-friendly, Debbie-Lee took us to look round the Hall when we arrived the day before, so it wasn't new to the dogs (or us) on the day; then she and Jenni acted as combined witnesses / dog carers / dog treat providers, as needed, before, during and after the ceremony on the day itself. And, for the ceremony, Debbie-Lee sorted playing the music we'd chosen and did our reading too.
An unexpected tear or two and being 'chauffeured' on the tractor to the ruins of the medieval Godwick church by James all added to making an incredible, uniquely memorable day that exceeded all expectations, and truly surprised us with just how good it was.
Thank you to all at Godwick Hall for making our day and our stay so very special!

Above and beyond
We highly recommend the elopement wedding. It was a wonderful experience.
We also can’t thank Hannah enough for helping us locate one of the rings in the grass with a metal detector when it was dropped. She was a life saver!
