Rude and disorganised staff
Today we had the pleasure of being part of my uncle and now auntie on their wedding day. They had booked a private room at the chase for the reception. 2 years ago before covid hit. We arrived on time, ready for the welcome drinks that were meant to be served on arrival. There was no table service (which was agreed before hand) we were told we weren’t allowed to serve the welcome drinks ourselves. To which we did and ended up using the toast glasses instead of the wine glasses (honest mistake) absolutely rubbish service there. Then came the “serving” of dinner. We were all in our designated seats and they also had a pre order and table plan so they knew where each meal was going. Any decent table service would work a table at a time, not here. It seemed they designated a waiter/waitress to a table. Food took so long due to this disorganisation (people finished their meals before another member had even received theirs) Trimming were served on the side and again many people had finished their mains before the trimmings even arrived. Dessert was good. I understand that preparing that amount of meals and serving them is a difficult task but organisation goes a long way. Then came the toasts. A member of the family stuck his head in the door to ask them if they could turn the music off whilst we did the speeches. Which one member of staff told him to f**k off, very pleasant. Due to covid no dancing was allowed except for the first dance for the bride and groom that was preorganised with their song choice. When the groom asked the waiter about it, she just smiles and says “can you not just dance to what’s on?” Like really?? General pub/restaurant music? Then after that somebody seen one of the waiters started to collect the prepaid bottles of wine off the table to take back. When questioned they placed the back on the table. Thankfully the day was more about the marriage of my uncle and auntie and we still made some great memory’s. I would not recommend anyone to book a wedding party there.Sent on 13/07/2021
