Located in the stunning Welsh countryside near Monmouth, Caer Llan is a charming, family-owned country house that offers the perfect backdrop for your wedding. Set amidst rolling hills and breathtaking views, this historic venue is ideal for couples seeking a tranquil, picturesque location to say "I do."
Experience the magic of Caer Llan for your special celebration! With exclusive use of our stunning venue, enjoy an intimate setting for you, your family, and friends. Our two-night package allows you to arrive early, unwind, and savour every moment, complete with a welcome buffet and breakfasts for up to 50 residents. Prefer something more laid-back? Our Twilight package offers a captivating ceremony backdrop, seamlessly transitioning you from the ceremony to the party.

Facilities and Capacity
Caer Llan offers a variety of beautiful outdoor spaces, including patios and terraces that are perfect for ceremonies and receptions during the warmer months. Our stretch tent provides shade or protection from light rain as well as direct sunlight, while the romantic wedding gazebo is an enchanting spot for exchanging vows. Available from May to October, the stretch tent offers flexible options for your celebration. Should the weather not cooperate, our indoor spaces are available as a backup, giving you the flexibility to choose whether to go indoors or outdoors on the day of your wedding. Each location offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Our table plans correspond betyween the 2 areas and hence there is no need to make any last minute changes if the weather isnt playing ball.
The stunning grounds are also ideal for photography, with plenty of picturesque spots for capturing your first moments as a married couple. Wander through the gardens, explore the expansive grounds, or even take a dip in our outdoor swimming pool. Your photographer will have endless beautiful settings to work with.
Our venue can accommodate up to 80 guests for your ceremony and reception, with up to 120 guests in the evening for dancing and celebration.
Accommodation
Caer Llan offers 16 large spacious bedrooms all with en suite bathrooms, with capacity to host up to 50 guests overnight. Each room is thoughtfully designed to ensure a restful stay, and we also have ground-floor suites available for wheelchair users, making the venue accessible to all guests.
Services Offered
We offer weddings on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, allowing couples to stay from the night before their wedding through to the morning after—without the added cost of additional venue hire days.
As a family-run venue, Vicky and Jake Carpenter, along with their dedicated team, are here to support you every step of the way. From your initial visit to the final farewell, they will ensure your day goes smoothly and according to plan, making sure every detail is taken care of.
At Caer Llan, exceptional food sits at the heart of every celebration. All of our dishes are freshly prepared on site in the country house kitchen, with a wide choice of menus designed to suit every style of wedding. Drinks receptions can be accompanied by an enticing selection of handcrafted canapés, followed by your choice of beautifully presented dining experiences — from three-course fine dining and traditional roasts to generous banquets and relaxed feasting tables.
Evening food is just as memorable, with an array of tempting options including grazing tables, wood-fired pizzas, hog roasts, barbecues and vibrant street food.
Breakfast at Caer Llan is always a highlight, featuring a hearty traditional English breakfast served alongside fresh fruit juices, cereals, pastries, toast and preserves, with unlimited tea and coffee to ease you into the day.
Our licensed bar features draughts, spirits, wine, cocktails, shots, spritzes and most importantly, we match pub prices, never run out and fast and friendly service means no queues for drinks.
With an in-house catering team, you won’t need to worry about booking external caterers. Our chefs will create a delicious wedding feast, taking care of all dietary requirements.
Our wedding package includes everything you need for a stress-free day; In addition to food and drink, we also include extras such as garden games, easels, a microphone and speaker, a cake stand, and a cake knife—many of the little extras that will make your wedding day even more special.

Carol and Jules dog friendly wedding
Vicky and Jake made the wedding planning easy. The day itself ran seamlessly, every detail was thoughtfully planned and executed, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy our day. The food was incredible and the team were genuinely caring from start to finish going above and beyond. One of the biggest highlights for us was how dog-friendly the venue is—it meant everything to be able to include our dogs in our big day. The natural beauty of the surroundings along with a stunning building created the perfect wedding backdrop, an unforgettable setting which made our wedding day feel magical from start to finish.

The Perfect wedding
It is run by a family team. Vicky and Jake made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived to see the venue. We absolutely loved our day, and like all couples say, we would do it again in a heartbeat. We wouldn't change a single thing as it was simply perfect. We are still hoping to return for a family celebration, as my family felt the same magic too.

Our Happily Ever After
We wanted an intimate wedding celebration with our closest friends and family and chose the two night option. It was without doubt the right choice and all of our guests felt at ease and the various bedrooms and communal spaces accommodated our guests of all ages to relax and feel at home throughout their stay. The younger guests were occupied in the family room and made full use of the amenities where close by, the adults could relax and enjoy their stay in the bar and main room. The night before the wedding was truly a celebration in itself, it brought everyone together and we could really relax, eat, drink and be merry with our loved ones ahead of the big day!
We were hoping for an outdoor ceremony (Vicky had always reassured us that we could decide on the day for an indoor or outdoor ceremony) but the Great British weather had other ideas and this made our day even more magical. I will always remember me and my bridesmaids giggling on the balcony of the bridal suite with wet feet and champagne in hand! And as newly weds wandering hand in hand through the lush grounds under umbrellas. We wanted a romantic feel to our wedding and that is certainly what we got and will remember forever. The large canopy provided shelter for our confetti shots and family photos plus the little ones in attendance had a great time playing under the gazebo with the evening food also being served outside.
The dedication of Jake, Vicky and their hard working team in turning the venue around throughout the day is extraordinary, and was widely noticed by our guests. The transformations from the ceremony to the wedding breakfast through to the evening party was phenomenal! Their attention to detail makes everything feel so special and each time it was like you were in a completely different room! The welcome buffet on arrival through to our last breakfast before departure was outstanding and all of our guests have commented on this!
Jake and Vicky worked collaboratively with our suppliers and for some it was their first time at Caer Llan. Their support was really appreciated. Rhys would personally like to thank Jake for helping with the music & seating on the morning of the wedding. Jake stepped up, supported the groomsmen and brought a calmness to hopeless men!
From the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank Jake, Vicky and all of their team for making our day so special and personal to us. Your home really felt like ours for the entire duration of our stay and that was exactly how we wanted it to be, an occasion we, our families and friends will never forget.

A truly amazing wedding experience
This venue made our wedding so special in every single way we could have imagined and more!
Vicky and Jake who own and run the venue did their up most in every way to make the weekend run smoothly and keep everyone comfortable, from visiting the venue beforehand, the whole planning period up to the wedding, liaising with our chosen band, florist, make up artist, ect and accomodating our plans on how we wanted the day to run. We really couldn't have felt more looked after and cared for!
We very much enjoyed the family feel the venue had compared to the many cooperate 'one in, one out' venues, and the pride Vicky and Jake take to make this such an exceptional experience for everyone is really special.
The grounds and views are absolutely stunning and the ability to host an outside wedding was great. The accommodation was spotless and the food was delicious and well presented at every meal.
Being able to create a weekend wedding was lovely as not only did it mean we could spend time with all our guests without it feeling rushed but we got to relax into the weekend and it felt like a break for everyone on site.
All of our guests have since commented on how special the venue was and how well looked after they felt by our wonderful hosts who were always on hand if needed.
Vicky and Jake thank you so much for all your hard work, your quick replies to emails, your ability to solve any potential problems, and guiding us through our special day every step of the way. Our wedding wouldn't have been the same anywhere else, you turned our dream into reality and made it 'ours'.

Best venue for a wedding weekend
You’re a bag of nerves knowing this is the most important weekend that you’ve planned 2 years for, you’re immediately greeted by smiling faces and are put completely at ease from the start ✨
The venue is “fairytale” picturesque and the team worked perfectly and so hard to make sure everything we pictured for our day was carried out smoothly without issues.
Nothing ever seemed to be too much, Jake, Vicky and the team was available whenever we had questions and the team worked perfectly to make sure everyone who attended through out the weekend was taken care of.
All the food was delicious and all dietary issues were taken care of. Highly recommend the Indian street food option as the evening meal!!

Our perfect day!
Our decision was made within minutes of entering the door and meeting Vicky and Jake. Both were great on communication in the build up and despite however many weddings they hold through the year, you'd be forgiven for thinking yours was the only one.
The venue is beautiful. We were fortunate to have outstanding weather which made our outdoor ceremony particularly special. The venue is flexible though and should storm clouds gather on the morning of the wedding, an indoor ceremony room is set up with the same views over the stunning Welsh countryside.
The accommodation here is lovely. To utilise it to its full capacity you will need to use every bed in every room which means if you're working on 2 people per room, you'll need to be selective on who you invite to stay as you'll run out of rooms fast. For our small, intimate wedding this was perfect and all our family and closest friends were able to join us for a buffet the night before the wedding and stay right the way through to after breakfast the morning after.
The staff are great, Chris on the bar provides a welcoming face and creates a vibe of the bar being that of a friendly local pub.
The Chefs are excellent and as well as being two lovely guys, produce some magic in the kitchen. Food was outstanding throughout and this sentiment was echoed by all our guests.
This is a family run venue and all the staff work to make you feel as if they have thrown open the doors of their family home to host your venue, just for you.
This is far from a wedding factory so if you’re looking for a status wedding with 300 guests, Caer Llan isn’t for you. If you are however looking for a smaller, intimate country wedding with personal service focussed on you as a couple and your nearest and dearest; this is the place for you.
Colourful pom pom Wedding
From the moment we arrived, Vicky and Jake set the tone for what would be an unforgettable day. They brought such warmth, enthusiasm, and energy to the entire experience. They made us feel completely at ease and cared for, allowing us to soak in every moment without a worry in the world. Their attention to detail was impeccable, ensuring that everything ran smoothly, from the ceremony to the evening celebrations.
Vicky and Jake's involvement made all the difference. They didn't just coordinate our wedding; they became part of it. They knew how to keep things light-hearted while still being professional, making sure our guests were entertained, engaged, and having a blast. Whether it was helping us with last-minute adjustments or adding personal touches throughout the day, they were always right there, making the experience feel even more special.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the reception. With the help of Vicky and Jake, we were able to create a celebration that was as colorful as it was joyous. The dance floor was buzzing, the food was incredible, and the laughter and smiles never stopped. Vicky and Jake were the perfect hosts, guiding us through every moment while also letting us enjoy the best day of our lives to the fullest.
Looking back, we couldn’t have asked for a better team to make our wedding day come to life. Thank you both for everything!

For those wondering about logistics: the rooms are spacious and comfortable, each with their own private bathrooms and flexible sleeping arrangements for whatever combination of guests you may have. The food was excellent (we had the Friday cold buffet, breakfast both days, a wonderful wedding breakfast with generous portions and the evening barbecue, which was worth paying the extra for in our opinion), and the team are very accommodating for allergies or dietary requirements, no matter how niche. The outdoor space is plentiful and peaceful, with plenty of opportunities for stunning photos.
To all the team at Caer Llan: please keep doing what you’re doing, because it’s something so special.

The best day!
As a bride, I didn't have a thing to worry about. Everything was discussed in advance and everyone was in the right place at the right time. It was a relaxed day. I couldn't have asked for more. It was a blessing to celebrate our big day at Caer Llan surrounded by family and friends.
