My husband and I got married earlier this week and couldn’t have had a more special day! The moment we arrived at Blackwell a year ago we knew it was special, we had a lovely sense about the place - and of course it is STUNNING! We fell in love with the thatch barn, but also the orchard barn which could not be more perfect for a wedding (especially with air con for summer weddings!). All of our guests were impressed by how beautiful the whole site was! Even the bathrooms are decorated beautifully.

The team (Suzy, Stuart and Eve (1604)) are also so lovely and went above and beyond to make our dream day perfect. Every time we met with them they were fantastic and Stuart on the day was phenomenal in running everything. All of our guests were impressed by how kind he and the rest of the team were, and how often people came over to offer drinks/food/just check in. As the bride and groom Stuart consistently made sure we had drinks and food too which was such a lovely detail to make sure we, like our guests, enjoyed the day and weren’t rushing off too much! It really added a sense of specialness to the experience. We were very well taken care of!

The food was also OUT OF THIS WORLD! Quite literally the best food we or our guests had ever tasted. We even had the incredible chef create a dessert table for the evening as we loved his work so much.

We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners Didi and Paul who were equally as lovely and kind. It’s hard to explain but it really does feel a lovely, calming vibe. We felt so at home on our wedding day!

The grounds and views are simply stunning too. Beautiful for capturing special photos and as a perfect backdrop to enjoy the day. We loved the venue so much and had the best wedding day ever. We cannot recommend Blackwell Grange enough. It really is a sensational venue, if you’re after a Cotswold picture perfect barn wedding, paired with the most incredible food and team… look no further!

We had the absolute best day getting married at Blackwell Grange.
Stuart and Suzy and the team at Blackwell were all incredible and helped everything go amazingly. They made all the planning seamless and the venue being as great as it is, means you don’t have much to worry about.
We couldn’t recommend Blackwell Grange enough and have had so many compliments about the venue and the day as a whole since our wedding.

The venue itself is stunning, and our wedding day was genuinely unbelievable. Unfortunately, the experience leading up to and surrounding the day was much more disappointing.

There were a lot of additional costs, restrictions and what felt like unnecessary red tape. We stayed the night before our wedding to reduce stress, which meant we needed the Old Linen Room (shown in the photos) for the groomsmen so they didn't have to go offsite. This was **not included** and came at an additional £150 charge, and unfortunately the space wasn't made available when we needed it. The layout works well if the bridal party is small, but with a larger group there is a real risk of the bride and groom crossing paths. The women's get-ready room (Potting Shed) and men's space are only around two metres apart.

Prior to our ceremony, the events coordinator had an unfortunate mishap where his trousers split and he had to leave the venue to change. I appreciate this was completely unforeseen and not his fault, but as he was one of the key people responsible for ensuring the wedding ran smoothly, having to leave immediately before the ceremony and pass duties to others inevitably increased my stress as a bride.

Communication was also a major issue. In **two separate meetings**, with family members present, we were told the bifold doors could remain open until 9:30pm. On the day, we were told they had to close at 7pm with no exceptions. While this may have been stated in the paperwork, it was not communicated to us clearly during the meetings, and we feel this is particularly important for couples booking a summer wedding. The outdoor views and natural surroundings are a major selling point of the venue, so having the indoor and outdoor spaces effectively separated from 7pm significantly affected the atmosphere and experience.

The service also lacked the personal touch you would expect for such an important occasion. The night before, around 20 of us were staying onsite, yet there was no opportunity to purchase drinks on arrival. The venue makes it clear that outside food and drink cannot be brought in, but despite having a permanent bar, we were told it couldn't be used. There were also issues with the tables not being steamed correctly, despite this having already been raised during a previous visit and again by email before the wedding.

We also paid for a bar tab on the wedding day, yet both the bride's and groom's mothers were charged separately for drinks. We were then told the bar tab had been exceeded and additional money was due, but no bill or breakdown was provided to demonstrate this. This felt unnecessarily transactional, particularly given the significant amount we had already paid.

The strict 11pm finish was another frustration. Guests were waiting for last orders from around 10:15pm but were still being refused drinks at 11pm because they had supposedly "missed" last orders. This was particularly disappointing when the delay appeared to be due to a lack of service rather than the guests choosing not to order in time.

I appreciate the cost and complexity of running weddings, and my family have a catering business so I understand the logistics involved. However, when couples are investing so much money, the service, communication and care need to match. We were fortunate to have incredible family support to keep everything running smoothly, but without that, I genuinely feel things could have gone very differently.

The venue is undeniably beautiful and we loved our wedding day, but unfortunately the level of service, communication, flexibility and personal care did not match the setting or the price we paid.

Blackwell Grange was the absolute perfect venue - the grounds are stunning, the team are so helpful and flexible, and we had the best day ever here. The team are so easy to work with, created a bespoke menu option for us, made tweaks to the day to fit our requests, set up the most decorations exactly as asked, they were just brilliant. I am so happy we chose here to get married, it couldn't have been better.
The responsiveness of the planning team, the ease of the information sharing making it super clear what was needed when, a portal for payments to keep track easily, it was all so good. In house catering did mean we couldn't compare on costs but the food was so excellent, good portion sizes, fantastically cooked, that it doesn't matter.

We had our wedding here at the start of June, everything was perfect! It’s such a beautiful venue, the food and drinks were amazing. We also stayed at the onsite accommodation and that was just incredible as well. A special thanks to Stuart for all his time and effort, not just on the day but the planning beforehand, nothing was ever too much trouble! We wouldn't of got through the day without you!! 🤍

From the moment we first visited until the last dance on our wedding day, everything was absolutely perfect. The venue is stunning, with beautiful surroundings that made the perfect backdrop for our photos, and every detail was so well looked after.

Blackwell Grange is such a stunning venue and we are so happy we chose to get married there. From the first planning meeting to the day itself, Suzy was truly amazing. Planning a wedding from overseas was definitely challenging, but Suzy was a superstar, helping answer all of our questions, helping us make decisions and making the day run smoothly. The food was amazing on the day – We had so many compliments from all of our guests saying it was some of the best wedding food they’ve had. The day was truly magical and we wouldn’t have been able to do so without the help of the Blackwell Grange team and Suzy especially. The level of care and attention not only on the day, but also leading up to it, from planning the catering, order of the day, etc., was incredible. We recently had our wedding at Blackwell Grange, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. Nestled in the beautiful Cotswold countryside, the venue is absolutely stunning - from the charming Thatched Barn for the ceremony to the gorgeous gardens, which were in full bloom for our summer wedding. I also particularly loved getting ready in the Potting Shed, which had a row of mirrors and chairs, like a salon, as well as a bathroom and coffee and tea facilities. Perfect for getting ready with my bridesmaids!

From start to finish, everything was flawless. We felt so at ease and truly cared for thanks to Suzy and her incredible team, whose professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made all the difference. Nothing was too much trouble, and their calm, friendly presence allowed us to really relax and enjoy every moment.

The food was divine - beautifully presented, delicious, and loved by every single one of our guests. We've had so many compliments since, not only about the meal but also about how breathtaking the venue was.

What can we say, they were the perfect venue. The managing staff and wait staff were superb. We had so many compliments on the food and how helpful the staff was on the day. A special thanks to Stuart and Suzy who were by our sides all day. The attention to detail on the day and the constant communication beforehand made the whole experience really relaxing.

If you can, do stay the night before your wedding! It makes the morning of the wedding so relaxing. We had an amazing meal prepared by Didi the night before which was lovely! The rooms are stunning! And we loved that every room has it's own theme - so creative.

We fell in love with Blackwell Grange as soon as we visited. We got married on 11/4/25 and we had the most perfect day from start to finish. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, and the thatched barn is just breathtaking. Luckily, we had brilliant weather too. The staff are amazing. The communication throughout was outstanding. All of the staff are professional, organised and efficient. Special mention to Suzy, who is absolutely lovely and really made our day so special. All of our guests commented on what a perfect venue it was and everything from start to finish was everything we dreamed of.
