20 Feb, 2026Our Real Wedding
Liam proposed to me on Valentines Day 2025, and a week later we had booked our wedding venue, getting married in a year's time! We attended Gosfield Hall for an open day, and from the minute we arrived we absolutely loved it- very Bridgerton vibes, gorgeous ceremony rooms, and the ballroom- breathtaking! Then they told us we could have our dog join us on the day and we were sold! We were initially planning to book a mid-week date later in 2026, and a 'party package' (skipping the wedding breakfast) to reduce costs, but they offered us a really generous deal for a full day package on a Friday in February- much sooner than planned but it was too good to turn down! From then on I was a planning machine: within the next week I had booked a photographer, content creator, dress appointment, & florist. I am a larger girl and was really stressed about the experience of trying on wedding dresses. However, I booked an appt with a plus-size boutique in London & ended up finding the most gorgeous wedding dress, which was the first one I tried on! Once the essentials had been booked and budgeted for, we also booked fireworks for the perfect evening surprise, and a string quartet to really match the Bridgerton vibes. Gosfield Hall offer their own styling packages which include coloured Linens, gold tableware etc, but I wanted our wedding to stand out so I designed the tablescaping myself. This was a lot of work! But totally worth it on the day as everyone commented on how nice the tables were (people had kept telling me I wouldn't care about the napkins on the day but I absolutely did!) Our actual wedding day was perfect, and I was really pleased with all the suppliers we had chosen, who really brought positive vibes to the day and provided exactly what we wanted, and more! I booked hair (Jaz @ The Hair Company Ely) and make up (Joely Richardson) with people who had helped for my sister's wedding in August 2024, and they were lovely people to have around on the morning of, who delivered exactly what we wanted. We hired a content creator (The Mystery Guest) who was perfect from our first phone conversation and on the day was the most positive person to have around. The behind the scenes videos and photos mean that we're really able to relive every moment. Our photographer (Lavenham Photographic) was the most lovely man and made us feel so comfortable all day, and our photos turned out so much better than we could have hoped for. The flowers on the day were absolutely breathtaking and our florist (Cherubs) delivered our vision so perfectly. The string quartet (Scintillo) played during our ceremony and welcome drinks, and even accompanied me as I sang a song as a surprise for Liam. Their playing was perfect and the best addition. Our dog Samson was able to join us on the day and act as ring bearer which was such a nice addition, and we had the best dog chaperone (Woofs & Weddings) who took the best care of him. My aunt made our wedding cake which was really special and absolutely gorgeous. After the most beautiful day, fireworks and sparklers in the evening (Dynamic Fireworks) really gave us the fairytale ending. Our wedding coordinator provided by Gosfield Hall, Tara, kept the entire day running so smoothly. There was nothing she hadn't thought of and we truly wouldn't have had the day we did without her. Genuinely the best day of my life, I wish we could do it all over again!
