I make it my goal to capture all those emotions and unscripted moments that no-one could have ever written. My focus is on telling the story of the day and involving as many characters as possible. I take photographs of unfolding moments that are candid because I want the images to be genuine and real. Even with an event that has been meticulously planned for months, there will always be a few surprises and I believe that it's in those moments where the best stories lie.
If you would like to have a collection of images from your wedding day, to accompany stories you'll be telling for the rest of your life, it would be a pleasure to be involved. I provide a comprehensive service that ensures you know exactly what you are getting before the event so that when the time comes, the only thing you need to focus on is enjoying your wedding day. I will document the full day, from the preparation of the bride or groom to the first dance, capturing the whole story.

How far in advance should I contact you?
As early as you can. Getting in touch in advance will give you the best chance of securing me on the date of your wedding, especially during peak season.I also like to have time to speak to you about any particular photos you'd like me to take. It might be a shot of you with a relative who's travelled across the globe to attend, or the cake that your auntie made, or the beer that your brother brewed.Of course, time might not be on your side and even if we aren't able to have those discussions, my experience should ensure that you'll still have a wonderful collection of images to remember your day.
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
I only ever shoot one wedding per day so that I can place all of my focus on that sole event.
Are you able to travel?
Yes. For you to pick me, out of all the other photographers out there is an honor, so I will do what I can to provide the best service possible.
What is the charge for travelling?
For weddings within County Durham and Tyne and Wear, travel is included in the price. For weddings outside of those areas, travel and accommodation charges may apply and will vary depending on the requirements.
What style of photos do you take?
My style can best be described as reportage or candid. I like to let moments unfold naturally and try to capture them as they happen. Genuine expressions, movements and emotions tell the best stories.I will also corral people together for group shots throughout the day so that I can include as many people as possible within the photographs. You might not see many of these types of images on my portfolio but they are a standard part of my repertoire.
What kind of technology do you use?
As we live in a digital age, I do my best to use what I can.The cameras I use are digital because they can capture great images in the most demanding situations with the most flexibility in the most reliable manner.I send my contract and any other documents via Google Docs so that they can be accessed, edited and shared with the most convenience. I host the final wedding album on my website, on a password protected page so that you can easily view and share your gallery with friends and family in an elegant and professional way.I store the final files on Google Drive so that they are backed up on the cloud and they can never get lost.
Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?
Typically, I like to get in the action and shoot with a wide-angle field of view so that when the photos are viewed, it gives an intimate sense that you are there, almost as if you are a guest at your own wedding. I do sometimes utilise a longer zoom lens, distancing myself, particularly when photographing the wedding couple in private so that they can feel more comfortable in sharing their first moments as newly-weds. It may also be used during the ceremony and other times where discretion is required.I also enjoy learning and trying new things; welcoming creative suggestions from the couple in the run-up to the wedding. An example of this is when I was working with a nature-loving couple who had decided to have their ceremony outdoors. They requested that I frame some of the images to include a lot of sky, and they turned out to be some of my favourite shots from the day.
What kind of equipment do you use?
The cameras I use are digital and capable of capturing great images in the most demanding situations. Zoom lenses give me the flexibility to shoot in a variety of ranges without the need to take a break from the action to change equipment. As dependable as the gear is, anything can happen so I always bring a back-up camera just in case. For the most part, I shoot with natural light but if the situation calls for it, I will introduce flash units.
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
Yes. The final images will be hosted on my website on a password protected page, giving you an elegant and professional way to view and share your gallery with friends and family.
What''s the delivery time for photographic report?
I like to begin editing photos immediately after the event whilst the energy and emotions are fresh in my mind, so the turnaround of final images can be just a couple of weeks. In peak season, it is not always feasible for me to work in such a way, and the final images may take up to 6 weeks to be delivered.
Do you send all the photos taken?
Part of editing photographs includes removing images that are not up to standard. There can be many reasons why a photograph may not make the cut but by excluding them means that the final gallery will only contain the strongest images. My goal is to produce a set of photographs that can be comfortably viewed in chronological order, telling a vivid story of the day but also contain powerfully emotive images that can stand alone in their own right. The number of images that appear in the final gallery will vary but you can typically expect between 200 and 400 retouched images to be delivered.
In case of unforeseen circumstances, do you have a replacement photographer?
I will do my utmost to fulfil my services to you but in the case that it is not possible, then I do have photographers that I can call upon to take my place in that eventuality.
Do you have the rights to publish the wedding photos?
I'm often proud of the work that I create and I love to share it on social media and my website. If you would like to request that the images of your wedding day remain unpublished then please mention it to me in our initial consultation.
Do you charge per hour or per event?
I charge per event, which means you don't need to worry if anything gets delayed during the day.
If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?
Typically I will start the day by documenting the preparation of the bride or groom and finish just after the first dance. It's not uncommon for me to stay a bit longer if the party is just too good to leave! If you would like me to stay until a specific point in the night, please mention it to me in our initial consultation.
How do you charge extra time?
If you would like to request that I stay significantly longer after the first dance, please mention it to me. An hourly charge may apply.
What are the forms of payment?
The invoice will contain details for bank transfer and PayPal. Credit card payments may be subject to a fee.

Emily and Joe
When we were thinking about asking a professional photographer to document our wedding, we agreed that we didn't want to spend much of the day standing still taking photos. So we needed someone who would be really flexible and who would wander around and capture people enjoying the moment. We are so glad we chose Ant! Ant is both personable and professional and you get a sense that he cares deeply about photographing your day. He was a joy to work with: reliable, thoughtful, and supportive. We really appreciated that he listened to all our ideas and took care to take photos of all the things that were important to us. We love the photos from our wedding - they capture the true happiness and spirit of the day.Sent on 15/03/2020
