Hello, and welcome to Maxine Howells Photography.
I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Cardiff, South Wales, specialising in documentary-style photography.
One of the things I continuously hear from my lovely clients is that I was totally unobtrusive, and they barely noticed the camera snapping away. This is what I aim for; in this way, I can really photograph genuine moments of you and your closest friends and family. The whole idea is that you don’t notice me and are left to enjoy your day to the full.
I love capturing those natural and spontaneous moments, mixed in with a small selection of group shots, just enough to satisfy the parents and family! This makes my job the most rewarding on the planet.
I keep my prices fair and affordable while always aiming for consistency and quality in my work.

Perfect day to elope!
We decided to get married after nearly 20 years together but decided we didn’t want a big wedding but did want it to be special, intimate and just the 2 of us. We decided on Glen Yr Afon Country Hotel in Usk as the venue and then had to decide on how to capture the memories of our special day. Maxine was recommended to us and she was fantastic in every way. I met up with her at the venue of couple of weeks before the big day to talk about photo opportunities and look at the venue together. She has great communication skills and is very warm and friendly but also professional. She made our day as we were able to relax, walk around the garden and hotel and take relaxed photos. She captured our characters and relationship. I would highly recommend Maxine as a photographer at any event!

Anazing Photograher!
We had a small family wedding and Maxine played a massive part in making it a very special day for us. She was so professional and supportive in the weeks prior to the wedding and really listened to what we both wanted.
Maxine made everyone feel at ease on the day and the photographs capture the mood and events in a perfect way.

Fantastic Photographer

Our special day
Maxine went above and beyond from start to finish to make us feel relaxed and our special was perfect ,,,,, she made us feel so special too nothing was too much trouble ,, and the photos are beautiful ,,, she caught all the natural pictures of the day ,,,, we would definitely recommend her to do your pictures and the price was perfect too ,,,, she kept in touch with us from the time we booked her to the weeks after the wedding too ,,,,,, seems more of a friend now ,,, thank you maxine x

Highly recommended photographer
Highly recommended photographer. Very friendly and professional. Communication was amazing from the first step of enquiring, to booking, consultation and of course the big day. Maxine listened to what we wanted and was completely gobsmacked at the final results. She has absolutely nailed our requests. Maxine captured all the little details and we are over the moon with the final products. Maxine kept us upto date throughout the whole journey and would highly recommend her services.
