Hi there! Allow me to introduce myself! I’m Sarah, an adventurous, vibrant, spunky, sassy chick from the heartland in America!! I have nearly a decade of my life invested in this business of telling love stories through my camera, and I love every experience!
I’m all about relationships!! I would LOVE to get to know you and your love story to show the real, raw, goofy, intimate moments that make you so unique as a couple. Not the same stuffy, posed mumbo-jumbo! I have an intimate and romantic style that captures your real interaction but also snags the moments that are best caught candidly. I believe a wedding day should be a blend of those to really draw out the essence of your day.

Services Offered:
Sarah covers intimate weddings and elopements both across the UK and worldwide. She offers bespoke wedding packages to suit a variety of needs and budgets. Options include an engagement/adventure session, elopement planning, up to 12 hours of event coverage, professional editing services, and a selection of lovely albums, parent books, and prints.

My packages are all bespoke—tailored to the specific couple and experience!
All packages start with coverage alone. Clients can choose a la carte add-ons
at a discounted rate at the time of booking

Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
Yes
Can you travel?
Yes, all of Scotland, the Lakes, North Yorkshire, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear travel included. I also cover other areas with travel as an additional cost
What is the charge for travelling?
There is no travel charge associated with my packages within Scotland -- it is included in the package. I also offer travel packages for the rest of the UK, the Isles, Northern Ireland or abroad

My photography is an extension of me as a person. You get my energy, expertise, and excitement infused into your day. I try to help shake out all the awkward by building a rapport prior to your day

I am a Sony photographer. I have a wide range of cameras, lenses and lighting systems to cover your day flawlessly!

Yes, all of my packages include a gallery of your high-resolution images for download and printing

You MUST hire Thistle + Stone!
We chose Sarah because of her obvious skill and her accommodating personality. She was able to gauge our personalities perfectly and was very clear in all her communication. She helped make a really effective photo schedule for the wedding and was very supportive. We were very reassured by how Sarah was able to handle a last minute change in plans. We also really appreciated her patience with our families and the wealth of knowledge and experience she shared from all the weddings she's worked before. The photos are perfect; very well composed and edited. We'd recommend Thistle + Stone to anyone. They may be slightly more expensive than some other photographers, but it's 100% worth it!!!

My new favorite person!
I don't even know how described how amazing everything was from the very beginning. Sarah responded very quickly, answered all my questions, and was beyond kind before we even officially booked. And between her responses and portfolio, booking was a no brainer!
Any idea I threw her way, she was down with! Including hiking through tall brush and mud, then going on a very steep, and very muddy, hike into a gorge.
She was so kind and funny every step of the way and I would 100% book her again on her personality alone, but if you add her photography skills to the mix, it becomes 1000%. I'm absolutely blown away by the photos she took... They're magical and beautiful and sexy and everything in-between. She is so good at capturing and maintaining personality in her photos, I'm in awe.
I didn't think my wedding day could have been anymore perfect, but she proved me wrong and thanks to Sarah, I get to look back and remember it forever!

Fabtastic!
Thistle & Stone were fab from the off, Sarah was the only photographer of the 6 that we reached out too who contacted us and asked if we were ok with a video chat. It was a great way of getting to know her and her to know us. She also sent us some questionnaires so that she knew the sort of thing we liked and the 'feel' we were after with our photos.

Sarah was amazing from start to finish - the perfect balance of casual and professional. She makes sure you feel comfortable and is so attentive and understanding.
Our photos are to die for and she really captured our love for one another so beautifully. The talent is off the scale!
We had a traditional church wedding and she catered to exactly what we wanted. As the bride in the morning I had a bit of a wobble and she was so lovely and helped me so much with extra bits!!
I cannot recommend Sarah enough. You really made our day even better.

Fairy Tale Wedding
I love every photo Sarah took. They are dramatic, personal, and most of all tell the story of my magical day. We hired her a year and a few months before our Scottish Elopement. She kept in contact with us the whole year, getting to know us, and our story. Wedding day came and I had a friend capturing my special day. She always went the extra mile for us and worked tirelessly on my photos. I loved working her and would do so again.

The Perfect Wedding Photographer
Sarah's work blew us away. She is professional, a joy to be around, and works magic with a camera. She's always in the right place at the right time, ready to get that perfect shot, while never being in the way. I can't imagine another photographer covering our perfect day. We cannot recommend her enough!

Sarah captures every detail beautifully
When I saw Sarah’s portfolio I could see all the warmth, colour and natural beauty I wanted our own wedding to radiate. I had every faith that Sarah would capture this for us. She was super flexible with our timeline and the logistics of our venues (it was just a small 30 mile juggling act between them all) and her pricing was really reasonable. She asked every question under the sun in preparation to ensure she captured exactly what we wanted. On the day I unfortunately felt really unwell, but Sarah (and her wonderful photography partner Matt) were so patient and kind and kept my spirits high – as well as being everywhere they needed to be and perfectly on time, not missing a moment.
After our big day, the wedding blues really got to me – the big, beautiful day had been and gone and my lasting memory was feeling unwell. But, when our first round of pictures were sent to us, memories of so much joy and all the most wonderful parts of the day came flooding back to me, my wedding blues were cured and my lasting memory is now of all the happiness that the day was full to the brim with – to the point that when I most recently spoke to Sarah and she reminded me of how unwell I was on the day, I had all but forgot about it and could only really remember the high points, thank goodness!
Sarah’s work resulted in just short of 2000 pictures of our guests looking gorgeous in an autumnal haven, my husband crying his eyes out (he was happy, I promise) and so many little moments that otherwise might not have been remembered. I look at them all the time and I’m so grateful that we can immerse ourselves in that day so entirely. And it’s always a pleasure to hear from Sarah and catch up with her – even a whole year on from our wedding.

Absolutely brilliant
We trailed reviews and example photos when looking for a photographer for our wedding so hopefully this helps a fellow bride/groom out - Sarah is incredible we absolutely adored her and are in love with our picture previews! She fitted into the day perfectly and is just so cool, we wanted to be her friend 😂 Our friends are family loved her and love the pictures we have so far, We’re still super exited by them! Really happy :)
We had the most amazing day and we’re so glad Sarah was a part of it!! She made the whole experience super relaxed, and was so accommodating with all the things we wanted to do. And after the wedding we soon received some previews of the images which were absolutely beautiful! Felt very lucky to have Thistle & Stone photograph our wedding :)

We had the most amazing day with Sarah. The resulting photos capture our love of the outdoors and Scottish landscape perfectly.
We were so lucky to be able to capture photos outdoors with amazing scenery. We did this after our wedding which is something I’d now something I’d recommend to every bride. We had time to enjoy taking lots of photos among beautiful scenery without the worry of rushing to get back to our wedding party. Sarah made us feel so comfortable as we aren’t natural posers and guided us through what to do to allow her to capture these amazing photos. It was a completely unique experience and the results are just beautiful! I cannot thank Sarah enough for taking the time to spend a morning with us to help us create these lifetime memories.

Bridal client
Sarah was very professional and very educated on the back end of the wedding. She helped create a time line for us and worked very well with myself, the bridal party, my guests, and my other vendors. She was great the entire time. We really enjoyed working with her and love how the pictures turned out! She captured really great pictures of the venue and small things I missed as being the bride on the go.
