Douglas was able to capture both the minute details and grand scale of my wedding beautifully. Douglas' ability to bring the colours out of my bridesmaids' dresses and the groomsmens' kilts really made the family portraits that were taken inside the venue stand out, pictures which we intend to keep as treasured keepsakes. When it came to the couples portraits, Douglas made us feel totally at ease, meaning our natural selves were able to shine through the our most intimate pictures. We also want to thank Douglas for capturing the tiny details of our rings, accessories, flowers, cake and wedding venue decorations, all of which means we have a full picture of how our big day looked - something particularly important to us as it was such a whirlwind experience. Douglas was fantastic during the whole wedding journey. He and his wife were super professional, friendly, helpful, and diligent throughout and the photos came out beautifully.

From the get-go, Douglas was super personable and flexible, helping us to feel more comfortable and relaxed. He included an engagement shoot as part of our package, which gave us some much needed practice and helped us to get more comfortable in front of the camera and also gave us lots of useful tips to think about for the big day.

Before the wedding, Douglas encouraged us to think of the type of photos we wanted, the people we wanted portraits with, and how we ideally wanted the schedule to run. As we didn’t have a formal wedding planner and were doing most things ourselves, this was very helpful!

The morning of the wedding, Douglas and his wife, Magic, drove all the way from Edinburgh to near Aviemore, through Storm Amy, to reach us. On arrival, they were perfectly calm and methodical, which was very much needed in all the chaos. We had no power outside the marquee, or phone signal on the whole estate, and somehow he managed to wrangle everyone to create some amazing pre-wedding photos.

During the ceremony, Douglas kindly (and thankfully) also filmed the wedding. We had setup our own camera for this but the file unfortunately corrupted, so he really saved us from not having anything! Additionally, Magic offered to take short video content on an iPhone, which included various snippets throughout the day. This came out beautifully and really captured the atmosphere of the day.

For the portraits, Douglas did an amazing job helping us and our guests to feel comfortable in front of the camera. Throughout the day, so many of my guests mentioned how friendly, approachable, and professional Douglas was. My husband and I are not used to being photographed and Douglas was so kind and patient with us when giving directions that he helped us to feel relaxed and really enjoy the process. We had wanted to get photos mostly outdoors, however were also at the mercy of Storm Amy, meaning Douglas had to be a bit creative which he took on with ease.

All of our photos came out so beautifully. We couldn’t be happier with how Douglas captured the atmosphere, joy, and love of our special day. He’s been so great to work with and an all round lovely guy.

My husband and I could not be happier with the service that Doug provided. Prior the to wedding day he was responsive to all my questions which made me feel at ease. He was also very accommodating in terms of the trial shoot where he came to the wedding venue on a date and time that suited us. On the day he captured every moment I wanted and delivered way beyond our expectations!
