Following an exciting career in photojournalism, Leo turned his attention to wedding photography. His organic approach to photography and his passion for shooting the off-the-cuff moments, make him a great choice if you want to avoid the traditional, formal photos!
Leo will blend into the background on your wedding day, capturing the spontaneous moments and creating beautiful photos so you can relive those special moments again and again.
We had Leo photograph our wedding in September and from the shots in the morning of us getting ready to the dancing in the evening he was a joy to have around. Leo obviously has a real passion for what he does and this is shown through the enthusiasm he has. He made me and my husband feel relaxed and we had fun with the photographs. He listened to what we wanted and delivered the most gorgeous photographs that we will treasure forever.
When we decided to get married and started thinking about logistics like who would do the catering and which photographer to go with, we knew that we’d like Leo on board. Neil knew Leo from years back and, although I didn’t know him well, I really liked the look of the other work he’d done.
It was one of the easiest, best decisions of the whole process of getting married.
From the very beginning Leo worked hard to ensure the day would be as easy for us as possible. He and his fab wife knew exactly what they were doing in terms of the timings, which meant we didn’t really have to ‘plan’ any specific photo-shoot slots into the day. In fact, it meant that pretty much all photos were captured without our knowledge apart from a few key ones with groups we had agreed with Leo beforehand. That took out a lot of the stress of organising people into groups, and importantly meant the guests could get on with the celebrations without hanging around waiting for photos.
Leo was super easy to work with throughout the planning process, the day itself and beyond. He made us feel really at ease straight away - he and his wife are funny, thoughtful and great with all kinds of people (including kids) - which is obviously a really good mix! The guests loved them and so did we.
What was amazing is how Leo managed to get such a massive range of group photos, action shots, images of the venues before they were full of people, and serene moments between my husband and I, all pretty much without us knowing they were doing it. More importantly, each and every guest was captured. Some of those lovely people are no longer with us so to have such wonderful memories captured in such a beautiful way was so important.
The photos themselves were simply stunning; there were funny ones, pretty ones, celebratory ones and of course some raucous party shots too. In fact, the hardest part of the process for us was after the wedding, choosing which photos to select for our album, because they were all so brilliant. In reality though, we could have chosen any from the range of photos because they captured the day perfectly from lots of different perspectives, which ultimately has led to us having the most wonderful memories captured forever.
Leo and his amazing wife did a fantastic job and we’d highly recommend them, without hesitation, to anyone thinking of having photos of their own celebrations.

The full-package covers travel expenses in the South-West of England. Travel costs for Weddings further afield are negotiable.
My style of photography was born from a career in photojournalism and eventual role as photo editor for an action sports publication at a London publishing house. This job took me around the globe, creating stories based around the many personalities in the subculture of skateboarding. I learnt to observe narratives unfolding from in amongst the protagonists and it is this that influences my wedding photography today.
I shoot the majority of your wedding day on small and discreet Sony digital cameras. They have a silent setting so there will be no noise to interfere with initimate ceremonies. I also shoot on a traditional medium-format film Hasselblad camera. This is generally used for couple portraits.
My methodology for weddings is simple: I won’t get in your way. I will let the day flow and document the moments that happen spontaneously without asking you or your guests to pose. Those laughs, tears of joy, hugs, kisses, confetti throwing, champagne-cork popping, cake cutting, first dancing, register signing, saying I doing, welly wanging* … capturing these moments in time is what I love to do and it gives me a sense of fulfilment that can’t be matched.
*(yes there was welly wanging at the last wedding I photographed).
As well as the cameras mentioned above, I will sometimes use off-camera lighting to achieve certain effects that enhance the overall feel of the photographs.
Yes, I use an online gallery so couples can share images with guests as standard.
Standard delivery time for your wedding photos is 4 weeks but can be up to 6 weeks depending on how busy I am. I take great care throughout the whole process from shooting to editing. Nothing is outsourced, all images are edited by me.
On most wedding days, myself and the second shooter will take somewhere in the region of 8 thousand images. These will be edited down to around 1000-1500 images for delivery to the couple.
I usually have a second shooter with me. When covering wedding preparations, one of us can be with the Bride and the other with the Groom (if required). Throughout the wedding day, I believe it's important to capture as many moments as possible as they are only going to happen once.
It has never happened yet, but if for any reason I can't physically make it to a wedding, the second shooter will step into the main photographer role. I am also part of a network of wedding photographers who are ready to cover for each other in this eventuality.
The photographer retains the right to use the images for editorial, competition and advertising purposes unless the client has any objections.
Per event, although the full-package price is negotiable depending on the client's needs.
As part of the full-package, I attend your wedding all day (12 hours). If needed, I can also stay for longer.
This is done on a client by client basis, but most find that the 12 hour period is enough!
Preferred payment is by bank transfer.
