Two photographers. One shared vision. Almost 20 years of experience. And rather a lot of cameras.
Meet Thea and Eduard, the husband-and-wife team behind atelier333, based near Glasgow and photographing weddings across Scotland.
Together for 21 years and photographing weddings for 19, they've learned a thing or two about love, patience and working as a team. They've also learned that two photographers can see very different things happening at exactly the same moment. Fortunately, that's rather useful at weddings.
Their approach is relaxed, natural and documentary-led. They love the laughter, the happy tears, the nervous excitement, the wonderfully unpredictable relatives and all those little moments that nobody planned but everyone remembers.
They believe a wedding should feel like a wedding, not an eight-hour photoshoot. Of course, they'll happily help with beautiful portraits and family photographs, but the real magic often happens when people forget there's a camera nearby.
Working together means two perspectives on your day. While one captures the big moments, the other might notice a quiet exchange, a mischievous smile or something hilarious happening just outside the spotlight.
And then there's their love of analogue photography.
Alongside digital photography, atelier333 offers genuine 35mm and medium-format film photography, carefully developed by hand in their own darkroom. Yes, actual film. Yes, actual chemicals. And yes, they genuinely enjoy spending hours in a dark room making photographs appear.

Unbelievable photographers
Over the months after the initial booking, we kept in touch. We met up to go over what we would like on the day and timings etc. Eduard and Thea arrived early and stayed way beyond the discussed timings, constantly reassuring us not to worry about the length of time they were with us. They were like flies on the wall, we barely noticed them taking photos during the day and neither did the guests.
We couldn't recommend the "dream team" Eduard and Thea enough. Every single photo they took is absolutely stunning. If we were to do it all again, we wouldnt consider anyone else!!
Each guest has commented on how stunning the photos from our day are, they all want a copy!

From Our Wedding to Our Honeymoon – The Best Decision!
Thea & Eduard did an absolutely wonderful job. We couldn't be happier with our wedding photos. They captured everything so naturally, from the big moments to all those little details we didn't even notice at the time. We felt comfortable around them from the beginning, and having them there was just like having friends around with cameras.
But here's where things got even better: we loved their work so much that we decided to invite them along on our honeymoon in Croatia as well! And honestly, it was one of the best decisions we made. We ended up with an amazing honeymoon documentary, full of beautiful places, spontaneous moments, laughs, and memories that would otherwise only exist in our minds.
Croatia was absolutely lovely, and the photos speak for themselves. Looking through them feels like travelling back there all over again.

I'm usually more comfortable behind a computer screen than in front of a camera, and Andreea, being a lawyer, is used to having things organised and planned. So, let's just say we had slightly different concerns about the wedding photos )))
But Thea & Eduard made everything really easy. They were relaxed, friendly, and knew exactly how to guide us without making anything feel awkward or forced. We could simply enjoy the day and spend time with our family and friends.

What I love most about them is how they manage to capture every couple in their own way. They really take the time to understand your personality and make the photos feel like you. My wedding photos are honestly from another world, but at the same time, when I look at them, I see myself in every single picture. And that’s exactly what I wanted!

I was a little worried that posing for photos would feel awkward or unnatural for me, but Thea & Eduard have such an amazing way of working that all those worries disappeared. Hi, I'm Thea!
I've been photographing weddings alongside Eduard for 19 years, and I still get excited about every single one. No two weddings are ever the same, which is wonderful because I'd be rather bored if they were!
I love capturing genuine emotions and those little moments that make every celebration unique: a nervous smile, a proud parent's expression, an unexpected laugh or a quiet glance between two people who think nobody is watching.
I'm naturally calm and patient, and I enjoy helping people feel comfortable in front of the camera. I believe the best photographs happen when you're relaxed, enjoying yourselves and not worrying about what to do with your hands.
Eduard and I have been together for 21 years, so we've become pretty good at understanding each other without saying much. This is particularly useful when we're photographing different moments at a wedding. It's also useful when he's eyeing up yet another vintage camera.
My favourite part of the job is seeing our couples smile when they receive their photographs, especially when they discover moments they didn't even realise we'd captured.
And yes, I do occasionally remind Eduard that we already have enough cameras.

I've been photographing weddings alongside Thea for 19 years, and photography still fascinates me as much as it did when I first picked up a camera.
I love telling stories through photographs, especially the little moments that nobody planned: a mischievous smile, a nervous glance, an unexpected laugh or something wonderfully chaotic happening in the background.
My approach is relaxed and documentary-led. I believe the best wedding photographs happen when people are simply being themselves, rather than trying to look like they're getting married for a magazine.
Discovering analogue photography brought a whole new excitement to my work. There's something magical about slowing down, choosing the right moment and creating photographs on actual film. I develop our film by hand, too, which means I voluntarily spend a surprising amount of time in the dark.
What I enjoy most about weddings is meeting people, sharing in their happiness and telling their stories in a way that feels genuine and personal.
When I'm not photographing weddings, you'll probably find me restoring vintage cameras, experimenting in our darkroom or convincing Thea that the scenic route through Scotland is definitely the quickest way home.
I sometimes wish I were an octopus so I could carry more cameras.
Thea thinks two hands are quite enough.
