Last update: September 2026

Amy Alford Photography is a documentary wedding photography business based in a little village near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, specialising in natural, relaxed and completely genuine wedding photography.

Amy’s approach is simple: capture the moments you didn’t even know were happening.

Rather than turning your wedding day into a photoshoot, Amy takes a documentary approach, allowing couples to relax, enjoy themselves and spend time with the people they love while she quietly captures the story unfolding around them.

From the big moments you’ve been waiting months for, to the little things that happen in between — the nervous laughs, happy tears, big hugs, stolen glances, hilarious dance moves and all the beautiful chaos — Amy is there to capture it as it really happened.

Her style is relaxed, unobtrusive and full of personality. She’ll offer gentle guidance when it’s needed, especially if you’re not used to being in front of the camera, but she won’t spend your wedding day lining you up and posing you over and over again.

Amy believes the best photographs often happen when nobody is thinking about the camera.

The moments that make you say, “I didn’t even know you caught that!”

That’s what she loves most.

The aim isn’t simply to create beautiful photographs, but to give couples a collection of images that brings them straight back to how their wedding felt — the people, the laughter, the emotion, the madness and all the little moments that made it uniquely theirs.

Amy Alford Photography offers wedding photography for couples looking for something natural, personal and a little less traditional. Based near High Wycombe, Amy photographs weddings across Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas, as well as further afield.

If you want your wedding photographed rather than turned into a photoshoot, Amy Alford Photography could be exactly what you’re looking for

Amy Alford
Wedding Photographer

Hi, I’m Amy, the person behind Amy Alford Photography. I’m a wedding photographer based in Buckinghamshire, and I’m all about capturing the real moments that happen throughout your day — the happy tears, the laughter, the little looks between you, and all the moments you might not even realise are happening.

I love photographing weddings in a relaxed, documentary style, so you can actually enjoy your day rather than spending it posing for photographs. I’ll gently guide you when needed, but for the most part I’m there to blend in, watch what’s happening and capture your story as it naturally unfolds.

For me, wedding photography is about so much more than how things looked. It’s about how they felt. I want you to look back at your photographs years from now and remember the people, the emotions, the laughter and all those little moments that made your wedding completely yours.

Based in Buckinghamshire, I photograph weddings across the surrounding counties and beyond — wherever your story takes you. 🤍

Meet Alison – My Magician’s Assistant (and Mum)✨

Hi, I’m Alison, Amy’s mum, and you’ll often find me alongside her at weddings. Amy affectionately calls me “the Magician’s Assistant” — and I’m very happy to take on the role!

I’m there to help with all the little things that keep the day running smoothly, from carrying Amy’s camera bags and kit (yes, I’m the official packhorse!) to helping with buttonholes, fluffing veils and making sure everything is just right before Amy captures the moment.

We work really well together, and I love being part of the excitement of a wedding day. I’m often quietly in the background, helping wherever I’m needed and keeping an eye on the little details, while Amy concentrates on capturing all those important moments.

It’s lovely getting to share so many special wedding days with my daughter — and I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🤍
