We booked Alan back in 2023 for our wedding this year following seeing his style of photography and instantly knowing it matched us, he is incredibly natural and you can tell he has a vision with every photo he takes. We really wanted a more natural style just capturing every moment and Alan delivered. We managed to meet Alan before the big day for a few pre-wedding photos which was great as we got to know each other and it made the day so much less awkward as we’d already experienced the ‘how to’ stand, walk & pose!
The photos dropped in our inbox within a matter of weeks and we are buzzing with the results! Quote from my wife: “he took a shit ton of pictures” 🤣 and a quote from my best man “he’s like a ninja, I didn’t see him taking those photos”!

We recently got married at Huntingtower Castle in Perth, and Alan was our photographer. I’ll be honest—I usually hate having my photo taken, so the idea of wedding photos filled me with dread! But from our very first conversation, Alan put me completely at ease.

We did a pre-wedding shoot with him, which made such a difference. It helped me relax and gave me a clear idea of what to expect on the big day. Alan was fantastic with communication throughout and kept us fully in the loop at every stage.

On the wedding day itself, Alan managed that perfect balance—he was present but unobtrusive. He captured so many beautiful moments without us even realising he was there, which is exactly what we wanted. The photos feel natural, relaxed, and genuinely reflect the joy of the day.

He moved through the formal shots quickly and efficiently, so we never felt like we were being pulled away from our guests. Everything felt seamless and stress-free.

We also did table dash photos with our evening guests, and Alan really captured the energy and fun of the reception—again, without being intrusive.

On the day he was incredibly helpful from keeping an eye on the time, organising people where they need to be, helping us get ready, taking photos preparation and guests ariving and also, have a good chin wag with us. Finding it hard to put into words how to thank Alan and to describe just how good our experience was! We found Alan via hitched and we are so glad we did!! The process from start to finish has been amazing. Alan sent us information, quotes etc. When we decided to book with him he made a point of being available to meet with us when we were in Aberdeen. (Aberdeen is 200 miles away from where we live) he showed us some of his work in print and available photo albums. Alan talked to us about how the day could go, the process of the photography throughout the day and includes us in all the decision making throughout this. Alan was a fantastic photographer for our wedding.

We had a slightly unusual wedding ceremony, since my husband and I were living in Japan and had travelled to Scotland just to get married. Despite the long distance and time difference, Alan was exceptionally professional in assisting us with our wedding. He often times went beyond our expectations with helping us plan from abroad.

In addition, I would highly recommend him based on his friendly attitude alone, which greatly aided my photo-shy family in feeling comfortable in front of the cameras.

Allan was a very relaxed and easy photographer to be around. His aim was to capture natural photographs of our day and as such didn’t force anyone to pose in any particular way for photographs just taking advantage of the atmosphere and surroundings. Very likeable guy, easy to get along with. Even at short notice he arranged a pre-wedding shoot to get to know us before the day. Highly recommended.
