About
Whirlgig Ceilidh Band, based in Norwich, Norfolk, looks to elevate wedding celebrations with vibrant, memorable music that will entertain all present.
Whirligig are known as "East Anglia's Favourite Ceilidh Band" and probably the longest established ceilidh and barn dance band in the region. Weddings are their speciality and they have a wide range of lively dances to suit everyone from beginners to experts. The dances are all great fun, and no two nights are ever the same, as every dance is selected to suit those taking part.
The lineup of four musicians includes fiddle, mandolin, guitar, melodeon, bass, and drums, so you can be sure of a solid beat to keep everyone moving! Whirligig also have a fifth member of the band, their dedicated caller, who will explain and occasionally join in all the dances. Then, when everyone needs a breather or a break, and with their passion for all sorts of music and not just traditional folk, they have a selection of great songs that can be performed between the dances and sometimes for a first dance. The band are fully self-contained with their own top-quality PA system and stage lighting, so all that's needed is a bit of floor space along with you and your guests to make your wedding party a very special night to remember!
