About
The Brotherhood are a South Wales function band, based in Newport and playing weddings since 2015. We've held a long-standing residency at Celtic Manor and play across Wales, the South West and the Cotswolds - Hensol Castle, St Tewdrics House, Elmore Court, Lapstone Barn, Cripps Barn.
We arrive early and set up while the room is being turned around, keeping clear of photographers and coordinators. Your first dance gets rehearsal time before the day, arranged and played live.
The band scales from a five-piece up to eleven for bigger rooms. The Sisterhood is our female-fronted lineup if that's the sound you want instead.
A wedding usually runs as three sets:
- A relaxed half hour early in the evening, often before the buffet. The first dance lands here.
- Fifty minutes to open the floor after the food.
- Fifty minutes to close the night.
Recorded music runs between and around the sets, built from your playlists and requests, so the room never goes quiet.
Soul, Motown, funk, pop, rock and current floor-fillers, arranged our own way rather than played straight off the record. No gaps - just like a DJ we keep the music flowing continously with segues and mashups to keep the dancefloor full all night.
