We’ve been doing this since 2007, and in that time, we’ve played at over a thousand weddings. What we’re known for isn’t just great music (though we’ll get your guests dancing from the first note to the final song) — it’s the way we treat every single wedding like it’s the most important one we’ve ever played. Because to you, it is.
When couples book us, they often say the same thing: “We knew you’d take care of it.” And they’re right. From the moment you get in touch, we work with you to make the music feel like yours. That means helping you choose the perfect first dance, crafting a setlist that matches your crowd, and bringing the right energy at just the right moments — whether that’s a sunset drinks reception or a packed midnight dancefloor.
We’re based in Manchester and regularly play at venues all over the North West and beyond. We know what works, how to read a room, and how to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day — no stress, no drama, just good vibes and great music.
Our most popular line-up is a 7-piece band with male and female vocals, saxophone, guitar, keys, bass, and drums. But we offer everything from a tight 5-piece to a full 9-piece band, depending on your style, space, and budget. We bring all our own professional sound, lighting and tech crew, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.
Music-wise, we’ve got over 200 songs to choose from — spanning Motown, soul, pop, indie, rock, disco, and modern hits. We’re all about crowd-pleasers and singalong favourites, but if there’s a track you love that’s not on the list? No problem — we’ll learn it for your first dance and perform it live.

Hi - I'm Joey! I run Under the Covers.
I have been singing with Under the Covers since 2013 and have been fortunate enough to play with them all over the country and abroad.
I love music and I love weddings. Seeing the joy on a couple's face when we strike up the first dance or opening number is such a delight. Being an integral part of a couple's day is never lost on me and I will always do my best both in the lead-up and on the day to make sure it's the best day it can be!
I'm Joel, I have worked as engineer for Under the Covers since 2017. My background was in music, before I moved to the more techinical side - the man behind, the man behind the mic I suppose. I have had the pleasure of engineering at hundereds of weddings and key responsibility in my eyes, is that the couple feel really safe and really confident in what we are doing. Planning a wedding is a huge task, so helping them relax, safe in the knowledge it's going to be great is really important to me.
