I’m Stu, a live event illustrator with over 30 years’ experience bringing stories, characters, and special moments to life through drawing.
My live wedding drawings add a fun, creative, and highly interactive element to your day. Each portrait is a unique, bespoke keepsake—full of personality and playful character—giving your guests a thoughtful, personalised artwork they’ll treasure long after the celebration ends.
A Distinctive Experience for Your Wedding
Based in the North West, I travel across the UK and Europe, working at weddings of all kinds and sizes. I also have a studio at the historic Bluecoat Chambers in Liverpool—the city’s oldest building, dating back to 1716—which is itself a much sought-after wedding venue and a wonderful place to meet in person.
For couples looking to elevate their wedding with something truly memorable, my live illustration service brings an added sense of magic, artistry, and originality to the day.
Alongside weddings, I’ve worked with a wide range of respected organisations and brands. I’ve been commissioned by Hampton Court Palace, Oxford University Press, and the BBC, and my work has appeared in Condé Nast Traveller, The Guardian, and The Times.
One of my favourite fun facts: I illustrated the original box artwork for Marks & Spencer’s much-loved Colin the Caterpillar cake.
How It Works
Every wedding commission is completely bespoke. We begin with an initial meeting to plan and tailor my involvement so it perfectly suits your day, your guests, and your venue. I’m always happy to meet at the Bluecoat if you’d like to discuss things face to face.
I offer flexible service packages tailored to your needs. Depending on your requirements and travel distance, I can provide coverage for 4,6 hours or longer.
On the day itself, I aim to draw as many guests as possible. I can sketch guests live or take photographs and work from them, allowing your guests to enjoy the celebrations and collect their artwork later.
