The ceremony really was just what we wanted, even if Buddy was a bit reluctant. All the personalised stuff really worked, and we appreciate all the time and thought you put into it. The package you left for us, with the certificate, vows and lovely picture was a beautiful touch and something we will really treasure. Emma, I wanted to drop you a line on behalf of Lily and I to say a big thank you for your most important contribution to our Wedding Ceremony last Saturday. We really appreciated your commitment to working with us over the last couple of months in preparing a very special occasion. The challenge we know was unusual. How to find the perfect balance between East and West, Chinese and British cultures, youth (not mine) and shall I say more maturity? We benefited greatly from your thoughtfulness, attention to detail, patience and professionalism as we evolved towards the final ceremony. And I think it’s objective to say, you and we fully achieved the balance we sought. This was reflected in the comments not only from the guests present, but also those watching the Live Stream in China, Taiwan, the USA, and even in the UK. Designing a ceremony which all nationalities enjoyed, and agreed displayed the harmony of both Lily’s culture and mine. During all the preparation and the day itself, you smiled, remained positive and encouraged Lily when she needed it, which gave her the confidence to relax, smile, and really enjoy her wedding ceremony. Perhaps a little too much, as she was relaxed she teased us all with the prolonged pause, before the crucial “I do”. She has come along way over a couple of months, and you helped her make this progress, so thank you. Lily has already watched the Live Stream back many times, and has not stopped smiling. We booked Gary for our wedding in February 2024. Gary was absolutely amazing, the process he has to understand you as a couple is so easy and enjoyable to complete together. Our ceremony was beautiful, completely personalised with our personalities as a couple captured with lots of giggles. Where do we even begin with Una. My now wife Emma and I were on the hunt for a celebrant as we knew we wanted to have a more flexible wedding ceremony in fitting with our alternative wedding venue and general style. The universe brought us to Una by chance at a wedding fair in Future Yard, Birkenhead and we knew instantly that she was the perfect fit for us. If you are looking for a helpful, friendly, personal, expert celebrant to guide you through and lead your most special day we wouldn’t look any further. Una met with us several times in the build up to the wedding to understand us on a personal level in order to build a script for the wedding celebration. She introduced us to several ideas for a more personal touch, which we decided on hand fasting and ring warming as the right fit for us with our dog collar believe it or not, and coproduced everything with us at every stage of the process - even sending us a night before wedding story which made us both feel so comfortable and calm the night before the big day. Una was the comfort blanket that Emma needed when nervously waiting at the head of the makeshift aisle and was truly a ray of sunshine on what was the perfect day. As a keepsake of the day Una printed a full copy of the ceremony script and our personal vows in beautiful booklets so her rates go far beyond that of just a transaction and really do, and did, provide such a broad and wide ranging experience for us. As a same sex couple I would say it’s really important to feel safe with your vendors, as it is still something you feel you have to think about more cautiously - at no point did Una make us feel any way other than celebrated for our queerness and most importantly our love for one another. We are writing this one year on from the day in celebrating our wedding anniversary and still feel as grateful and fond of The Joy Celebrant as we did on first meeting Una and having her lead on our ceremony.

Jacqui is an absolutely fantastic celebrant who I could not recommend more enthusiastically! She crafted the most beautiful ceremony for our Civil Partnership, tailored to exactly what we wanted; all of our guests commented that it was one of the most heartfelt and beautiful ceremonies they had ever been to - we were delighted! She is able to offer a completely bespoke service, tailored to exactly what you want but with much more flexibility than what is possible with a registrar. She is very versatile and was able to craft beautiful wording uniquely personal to us a couple once she had got to know us and understood our relationship, no matter how serious or wacky! At every step of the process, Jacqui was on top of all the details and an expert in all the things we needed to think about, including many helpful suggestions and pointing out common pitfalls which we could then avoid. She is also meticulously organised, very responsive, and totally reliable - leaving nothing to chance, every detail is considered and prepared for (with plan Bs and plan Cs to boot!). On the day we was a really calm and reassuring presence who was in control of all the moving parts which was really valuable: I would trust her absolutely to deliver any ceremony perfectly without a hitch. I loved working with her and would recommend her unequivocally for anyone looking for a wedding celebrant, or indeed an MC for any type off special occasion - you will not be disappointed!
