Dorset Dubhire are a family owned and operated business based in Wimborne, Dorset, offering the largest personally owned fleet of classic VW wedding cars on the South coast.

They are the longest established specialist VW wedding transport supplier in Dorset, starting in 2010 as a result of owner Catherine and her partner Jason's passion for classic VWs. Their love for the vehicles and VW lifestyle resulted in what was a hobby becoming a wedding car business that has grown organically over the years.

Their dedication to providing a professional, caring and individualised service to their couples has led to them winning 13 wedding industry awards (at TWIAs and The Dorset Wedding Supplier Awards). Couples can be sure of only the very best level of service.

Catherine runs the business full time so couples have one dedicated and constant point of contact from enquiry through to the big day (and after).

Following years of running an award winning business, owner Catherine also sat on the judging panel for the wedding transport category at The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIAs), the most prestigious wedding awards in the country, for three years.

Services offered

Dorset Dubhire's fleet of five classic VW wedding vehicles are offered for chauffeur driven hire throughout Dorset and the surrounding areas.

Packages

Services/packages are available for couples holding their ceremony and reception at the same venue or requiring onward transport to the reception and they offer a photo only option for couples who are staying at their venue the night before, plus a new package for those getting ready at their venue on the morning of the wedding. Services will always be tailored to every couples' individual needs. Guide prices are exhibited on their website.

The vehicles

Dorset Dubhire's three beautifully styled VW campervans and two stunning Beetles are designed to provide the space, comfort and luxury couples deserve on their special days:

'Lillie' is a gorgeous 1972 tin top bay window campervan. Restored locally to an extremely high standard in VW pastel white with bespoke oak interior, pale cream upholstery and classic Porsche Fuchs alloy wheels she really is a fantastic example of a VW bay window bus. Lillie seats 6 passengers in her very popular 'L' shaped style seating configuration, with one seated in the front.

'Lilah', is a 1965 fully restored Beetle. Finished in VW 'bahama blue' with a very high quality Bernard Newbury interior she is a multiple VW show winner and has feautured as a centre spread in Volksworld magazine. She seats 3 passengers or the front seat can be removed to accommodate brides with a fuller gown, seating 2 passengers.

'Lulu', a beautiful 1960 early split screen, also restored locally in Dorset, is painted in a bespoke signature shade of powder blue over ivory. Her oak and cream interior and classic style make her extremely popular for weddings. She seats up to 6 people in conference style seating. A real head turner and affectionately known as 'the South's best loved splitty'! Lulu is believed to be the oldest splitscreen bus available to hire for weddings locally.

'Lucy', a 1974 baywindow deluxe bus, is painted in the same popular colour combination of powder blue and ivory as Lulu. Lucy underwent a professional bare metal restoration after she came to Dorset Dubhire in 2015 and she boasts a very spacious pale cream upholstery with a bespoke oak interior. She seats up to 6 passengers comfortably in conference style seating with one seated in the front.

Newest addition, ‘Libby’ is a beautiful 1974 Karmann Convertible Beetle painted in old English white. Seating 2-3 passengers she’s a gorgeous bridal car and with the option of having her roof up or down (her roof comes up or goes down in seconds) couples can really make an entrance (or exit) and enjoy fantastic photo opportunities! Libby also benefits from her original, high quality herringbone upholstery.

Wedding interiors

Campervans all benefit from beautiful wedding interiors, designed especially for wedding hire and fitted by local businesses that work in the luxury marine industry. Dorset Dubhire are the only VW campervan wedding business in Dorset to offer professionally designed and built wedding interiors in their campervans. So no sinks, cookers or beds-just plenty of space and a gorgeous backdrop for those all important wedding photos!

Personalisation

Couples really value and enjoy being able to personalise the vehicle/s they've chosen with their choice of decorations (at no extra cost). Vehicles are dressed by Catherine and Jason in ribbons and faux flower garlands to match couples' theme.

How they work

What's included

The price includes the journey/s the couple have requested (unless opting for the photo only option), ribbons in the couples' colour choice, a choice from a large selection of high quality faux flower garlands, bunting and a just married sign to decorate the vehicle.Chilled water is always available, as are white brollies and a box of useful items. The service offered is never rushed and is tailored to each couples' individual needs and requirements. The vehicles are always be available for photos before and after the ceremony and/or to take the newlyweds to a local beauty spot to ensure they get the most from their experience.Glasses and a retro Polarbox coolbox can also be provided if couples decide to bring their own alcoholic drinks to enjoy during their journey/s.

Quote/Contract

Dorset Dubhire always provide a written quote and contract (before any monies are requested). They liaise with couples over timings/all details in the run up to their day to ensure they're happy with everything and so that they can relax on the big day itself.

Maintenance/MOTs

Vehicles are maintained to the highest standard by highly regarded local VW specialists and are MOT'd annually, despite being exempt due to their age. Dorset Dubhire feel strongly that any wedding car supplier offering hire and reward services should be MOTing their vehicles annually as standard.

Multi hire

Couples often choose multiple vehicles from the fleet to coordinate their wedding transport and discounts are available for multi vehicle bookings. A convoy of VW wedding cars never fails to turn heads and offers fantastic photo options!

Viewings

Vehicle viewings are encouraged and can be easily arranged at their commercial premises/showroom on The Nufflield Industrial Estate in Poole (with plenty of free parking). It's always advisable to view any wedding car that's being considered, to ensure the vehicle offers the space needed for those travelling, to make sure the car is in good condition and to ask any questions there might be/meet the supplier. For couples who are comparing different suppliers this also means that they can see what they're getting for their money.

Weddings are regularly undertaken in the Wimborne, Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Weymouth, The New Forest, Salisbury and Shaftesbury areas. Dorset Dubhire are happy to travel throughout Dorset and into parts of Hants and Wilts to provide their service.
