Wedding Speeches

With ad libs etc this speech was 29 mins 11 seconds long. It was timed and we raised £150 for charity with guests drawing 15 second time slots.

My speech took place in the North of Iceland after getting married in at a hot pool called Grettislaug. It was done in the style of "wedding speeches for dummies" after reading a number of guides on things to include. I even printed off an image of the book as the front cover. Small gathering 40 people With my dad as the best man i wanted to alleviate some of the pressure of jokes by adding a number myself. Its a personal speech but i hope its to some use for some of you guys out there!

It took me nearly 11 months and many many revisions to arrive at the final version of this speech but I would do the same again if I ever have to speak publicly again. It changed so many times and eventually became the personal statement that I really wanted with a few of the original ideas borrowed from hitched left in. But I feel by starting early and going back to it over a period of time helped me get it into shape. I only received very positive comments from other guests with at least two saying that there were a number of fathers who had to wipe away tears ! On reflection I probably s
