How far in advance should I contact you?
We recommend booking early, as popular dates fill up fast. Most couples book 12–18 months ahead, but we’re always happy to check availability for last‑minute or short‑notice weddings
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No
Can you travel?
Yes, we cover weddings all over Scotland, but mainly Central and South West Scotland
What is the charge for travelling?
Travelling expenses are included in our package prices. If we are required to travel more than 100 miles (round trip), an additional rate of 55p per mile will be applied thereafter
What kind of technology do you use?
Digital
Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?
We film in a natural, candid style, blending into the background to capture real moments. Our unobtrusive approach, pro audio and timeless editing create authentic, relaxed wedding films
What kind of equipment do you use?
We use pro cameras, lenses, audio and stabilisers for smooth, natural films, plus drone shots when allowed. Our gear is discreet and high‑quality to stay unobtrusive while capturing your day
Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

Do you charge per hour or per event?
Per event
If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?

How do you charge extra time?
Our packages are designed to cover your full day, but if your wedding runs later than planned and you’d like us to stay longer, we’re happy to do so. Extra time is charged at an hourly rate
What are the forms of payment?
We accept payment via bank transfer, which is our preferred method for securing your booking and final balance. A deposit is required to secure your date
How do you work?
We film in a relaxed, unobtrusive way, capturing your day naturally as it happens. Using discreet gear and calm direction, we keep everyone comfortable, then edit your film in a natural style

V.I.P Wedding Flim Scotland WOW!
Ale was my videographer for my wedding on the 16.05.26, and he was just fantastic! He captured our day so well and worked amzing along side our photographer BBPictures and our content creator Jane from WediMedia, they were the dream team 🤩!
Derek then edited our video and made our wedding highlights which turned out so good! it’s so nice to watch your day over and see the moments you missed or forget, and is something we will cherish forever. Derek always kept us up to date with how long it would take etc. and we couldn’t believe we got it back in 2/3 weeks since we got married! Derek and Ale are fantastic and I highly recommend any brides and grooms to get these guys booked! Thank you again from Me and Mrs McLaren, Emily and Stuart and Nala 🤩✨🥰

From our very first contact, Derek was friendly, professional, and incredibly easy to deal with. On the wedding day, he blended seamlessly into the background and was so subtle that we barely noticed he was there, yet he managed to capture every important moment perfectly.
What really impressed us was the turnaround time. We received our full wedding film just 8 days after the wedding, which exceeded all our expectations.
Watching the film was an emotional experience. Derek captured so many moments that we completely missed on the day while we were having photos taken, greeting guests, and moving between different parts of the celebration. It brought back so many wonderful memories and allowed us to relive our day from a completely different perspective.

Delighted with our choice
We chose VIP wedding services for our big day on the 16/5/2026 and Derek certainly didn’t disappoint. Derek worked alongside Stephen from Belvedere Images both were great at what they do. Nothing was a bother, they blended into the crowd capturing excellent footage of our day.
After the wedding the also kept in touch and the timescale for the turnaround in receiving our wedding footage was fantastic, we were able to watch our wedding video on honeymoon in Vegas which was an extra bonus. I can’t thank these guys enough and would highly recommend ⭐️

Wow, VIP wedding film and Derek in particular was an amazing part to our day. Only 1 week after our wedding, Derek has edited our highlights and our full wedding day. We got to enjoy some film whilst on our honeymoon. He was brilliant throughout the day and you would hardly know he was there. No big cameras in your face, just blended right in. He has captured so many magical moments of our day and we are so glad we have so many happy memories of our day to look back on. Absolutely could not recommend Derek enough!!

Great videographer!
Derek was really great on the day. He arrived in the morning to capture all the chaos of getting ready and you would honestly not even know he was there (which is exactly what you want). He just moved around from room to room making sure all the moments were captured. At the venue, it was just the same—doing what he does best and making sure all the special moments of the day were caught on video. He captured so many moments that we didn’t even get to see ourselves on the day, which has been so special to look back on. We have loved watching back our highlights and video to relive our special day that has been captured so perfectly!

From the moment they arrived, they were professional, friendly, and so easy to be around. They captured everything so naturally — the emotions, the laughter, the little moments we didn’t even realise were happening. It genuinely felt like they understood exactly what mattered to us.
Just over a week and a half after the wedding, we received our preview film, and it completely blew us away. The way they pieced the moments together was beautiful. It brought all the emotions of the day flooding back and left us both in tears (the good kind). Their talent for storytelling is something truly special.

Derek you are the most easygoing person we have ever met, not intrusive at all and you captured the moments beautifully 🩵. You embraced.the elements and captured out day beautifully, nothing felt posed or forced and that’s what videography should be- not imposing but seamlessly blending in. I can’t wait to see our video as it’s all such a blur it will be nice to see it back and be able to re-live it all over again!

We got married on 06.03.26 at Boclair House and had Derek at VIP Wedding Films as our videographer. I can honestly say he was absolutely brilliant the whole day. Made all the girls feel so comfortable during morning prep and then went and set up at the venue ready for us arriving and caught us all coming in which I loved.
Derek caught all the moments we didn’t get to see for ourselves as we were so busy & I am so thankful for this. The first reveal with my gran is just perfect. The highlight reel that followed after the wedding was also perfect, and give us a glimpse into what to expect for our full video and I can honestly say, it was outstanding. Would 100% recommend & will be recommending to every bride/couple getting married I know! Thanks Derek.

Perfect !!
We weren’t set on having a videographer for our wedding but I’m so glad we did ! From the first meeting we were made to feel relaxed and listened to. On the day we barely knew we were being filmed which is just what we wanted.
We have just had our preview through and it’s perfect , our own song choices and beautiful shots ! I would 100% recommend VIP wedding films and Derek to anybody on the edge of booking for your big day !
