The very best wedding venue we could have hoped for. We were desperate for a wedding venue after last year's cancellation, so checked out the brochure on 4th June last year, had a video tour in the evening, visited on the 6th, booked it and deposit paid on the 9th, we were that impressed by what we saw (admittedly a building site).
Risk paid off. The venue were on the ball enough so that the legal ceremony could be outside on the shores of Windermere, so we had an unforgettable occasion - the sounds of the waves breaking, birds in the trees, made for a really natural, wild ceremony.
The barn has been done spectacularly, suitable for 60-90 I'd think, with a smart terrace outside with decking overlooking the lawn.
There was accommodation for 9 couples, in 3 separate areas, and the best man said it would have been great if it was half as good. It's the little things - there were 25 plug sockets in one room, so it's not like those annoying hotel rooms where you have to put your phone on charge 3 metres away. The communal nature of the cottages makes it great for getting together to chill the night before and getting ready in the morning (some people can't be trusted to dress themselves). It's these little things that made it such a great venue. We chilled out the evening before with a BBQ on the beach, trying out standing up paddle boarding, which due to the size of the venue was away from the thoughts of the wedding the next day.
Cheryl and Ness went above and beyond what was required from them, they coped with my mad schemes and there were no hidden costs that popped up (nonsense you get in other venues like having to pay for a dance floor etc). With the effort that has gone into it and the potential in the estate, I think it will get better in the next few years, as the garden area matures. Cheryl was very responsive with questions, and accommodating of any issues we had.
I knew of at least a dozen guests who personally mentioned what a great venue it is. No matter what theme you're looking for, you'll not go far wrong with Town Head. Incredible!
I got married here on the 9th May 2026, myself and my husband couldn't have wished for a better experience and we will forever recommend Town Head to anyone looking for a beautiful wedding venue with friendly and professional staff.
Bethany and the team worked so hard to make sure our day was absolute perfection from start to finish and we are so grateful. Nothing was ever too much trouble, they were always so accommodating and helpful.
The wedding barn, guest accommodation and grounds are absolutely breathtaking and I couldn't of imagined a more perfect place to have spent my wedding weekend. 5* is not enough to give this venue, if I could give more I would! I wish I could spend every weekend here.

Winter Wedding
Cannot put into words how much of a beautiful day we had. Everything ran so smoothly and was completely stress free, allowing us to take in every moment. The staff were so kind and helpful through the whole process and created the day we have always dreamt of.

A magical memory to last forever!
Trying to put into words what this venue and our wedding coordinator mean to us feels almost impossible, because what they gave us was so much more than just a beautiful place to get married. They gave us a feeling… a sense of calm, of being cared for, of knowing that our day—the day we’ve dreamed of for so long—was in the safest, kindest hands.
From the moment we walked through the doors, the venue felt like home. There was something almost magical in the air, and on our wedding day that magic wrapped around us completely. Every room, every view, every detail came together to create an atmosphere that was so full of love it brought us both to tears more than once. It wasn’t just pretty—it was meaningful.
And to our extraordinary wedding coordinator… Beth, we don’t even know where to begin. You were our anchor, our guide, and our quiet hero throughout this entire journey. You listened to every idea, every worry, every tiny detail that mattered to us, and you made them all come to life with such care and heart. We felt seen. We felt supported. We felt celebrated.
On the day itself, you were somehow everywhere at once—steady, calm, smiling, and making sure that everything unfolded seamlessly. Because of you, we were able to be fully present in every moment, soaking in every emotion, every laugh, every happy tear. That is a gift we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
Our wedding day felt like a dream, and we know it’s because of you and the incredible team behind this venue. We will forever be grateful—not just for what you did, but for how you made us feel.

From the minute we visited Town Head, we knew it was the venue for us. The lovely ladies there answered our questions and emails for 2 years and were always patient and helpful. From the day we checked in until the day we left, Bethany was incredible. Her and her team’s attention to detail and all of the staff’s willingness to help was amazing. We truly never wanted for anything, and felt pampered and taken care of. The venue was stunning and we could not have imagined a better place to spend a weekend celebrating with all of our loved ones. Cannot recommend enough. We’d like to do it all over again ;) -

The Fletcher Wedding
Townhead could not have done more for us in the lead up to our wedding or on the day itself. They were helpful and friendly and we really felt like what they didn’t know about weddings wasn’t worth knowing! The grounds and venue are breathtakingly beautiful and the pictures we have look like they could have been in a bridal magazine. The girls stopped at nothing to make our day special even when the weather wasn’t so kind to us. -

From the moment we first stepped onto the grounds of Town Head Estate, we knew we had found our dream wedding venue. Little did we know that it was more than just a place—it was a truly magical experience, made unforgettable by the incredible team who became like family.
Every single member of the staff poured their heart and soul into making our day perfect. Our wedding coordinator, Tanya, was an absolute guardian angel. Her calm demeanor, expert guidance, and unwavering support made the entire planning process feel effortless. She handled every detail with grace, and on the day itself, she made sure everything ran seamlessly, allowing us to simply be present and soak in every moment.
The personal touches and genuine kindness of the team truly set Town Head apart. A special thank you to Beth, who went above and beyond to help us put up a last-minute backdrop for our Roce ceremony—it meant the world to us. The night before the wedding was also incredibly memorable, and we'd love to give a shout-out to the bar team, especially Megan, for their amazing energy and for keeping the good times rolling.
And how can we forget Hannah? Driving us down on the boogie to the boathouse for our wedding vows was such a fun and joyful moment that we will cherish forever. It’s these small, personal acts of kindness that truly make a difference.

An outstanding venue!
Words cannot describe how special Town Head is, and we could not be more grateful to have got married there!
The venue’s grounds and facilities are incredible, from the beautiful accommodation, to the private jetty with paddle boards on lake Windermere, as well as all the beautiful gardens and grounds.
The staff, including Tanya, Beth and Hannah were all so warm, welcomming and helpful, it meant our wedding was seamless. Our guests were hugely impressed with both the venue itself as well as all the staff working there.

We are so happy that we chose Townhead for our wedding day in June 2024. As a local girl I knew I wanted to get married in the Lakes and with so many venues to choose from it was difficult to decide. But as soon as we came across Townhead we fell in love – with the amazing access to the lake, beautiful, restored barn and accommodation and gorgeous gardens. After we visited, we fell in love even more and booked it on the spot. Tanya and her team looked after us so well in the build-up to the day, suggesting suppliers, working out drinks packages to save costs and helping with ideas for how the day could flow. The day went seamlessly, with a huge thanks to Tanya and her hardworking team for keeping things on track. We hired Townhead for three nights and had a great family breakfast and afternoon pizza party the day after. With many guests travelling far it was a perfect way to finish our wedding weekend. We can’t thank Tanya, Cheryl and the whole Townhead team enough for their support and help and highly recommend booking Townhead for your wedding! Mr and Mrs Pearce x -

Town Head Estate is a dream! The venue is gorgeous, the quality of the barn and cottages are perfect - they are so well cared for.
The staff (I have to particularly call out Beth!) are lovely and welcoming as well as incredibly knowledgeable they went above and beyond helping us with recommendations on suppliers and making suggestions to help the day run smoothly
