I recently got married at the Upper House and had the most fantastic day. Ellie and her team could did a first class job and I could not have asked for more. They were extremely professional making sure that everything went like clockwork.
The food was delicious and all of my guests commented on the beautiful venue and the lovely staff.
Everything I asked for they did and more.
I would recommend this venue to any future bride as its a real home from home in beautiful surroundings.

The perfect wedding
Jack and I had our wedding at The Upper House in April 2025 and we truly had the perfect day.
When it came to the planning, nothing was too much hassle for Ellie and the team. Despite all the emails I sent to help plan out the big day, all my emails were replied to in a timely manner and I felt very taken care of.
We had the pleasure of staying at The Upper House the night before the wedding meaning we had an extra night to enjoy the beautiful rooms and stunning views on offer.
Jack and I got married at Keele Chapel and returned to The Upper House to enjoy the rest of our special day. Caitlin, Jo and the team were seamless in their service and which meant we were able to fully relax and enjoy it.
We decided not to attend a food tasting as we don't live local and we had heard such great reviews of the food and I have to say, The Upper House absolutely lived up to those reviews. The food was delicious and enjoyed by everybody. We were also able to choice 3 options for our guests to choose from as part of our package.
The weather meant that all of our guests were able to enjoy the beautiful gardens and it meant Jack and I were able to get some stunning photos on the grounds.
By the evening reception, we were all having so much fun and it really capped off the perfect day. I didn't even get to try the buffet as I was too busy dancing but I was told by my guests that the food was really nice!
Overall, we would 100% recommend The Upper House as wedding venue. They truly excelled in every aspect making our day everything we wanted it to be.

The most perfect day
From the first time I spoke to Ellie regarding the possibility of a small, intimate wedding at the Upper House, I found her extremely approachable and professional. There were only 12 of us in total, but that didn't mean that Ellie was not dedicated to making it the perfect day for us. Whenever, I contacted her regarding any queries, if she was not available there and then, she always got back to me promptly.
The Upper House is a historical building in a beautiful setting with a dedicated team determined to make your special day run smoothly. As there were only 12 of us, we hired the Darwin room for the wedding ceremony and the wedding breakfast, but on the day, the weather was glorious, so we were able to move the ceremony and the welcome drinks and canapes to the outside, which made it even more special. We went in to the Darwin room for the wedding breakfast which was of high quality and everyone said how delicious the food was.
We didn't have an evening reception, but as the weather was so good, we were able to continue our celebrations back outside.
We had the luxury suite, which was extremely sumptious, for the afternoon and night and had a balcony overlooking the grounds at the back. Prior to the wedding, my friend and I enjoyed pre-wedding drinks sitting out on the balcony taking in the beautiful view.
We had the most perfect day and would highly recommend the Upper House as a wedding venue. Hopefully, we will be going back to celebrate our anniversary in September. -

Honestly, we couldn't have wished for a better wedding venue! You were all so lovely, and everything went seamlessly. The whole venue was decorated so beautifully, all our guests were so impressed with the food, and the drinks at the bar and staff were superb too from Ellie for helping us plan our wedding to Joe for the amazing support on the wedding day. We are so grateful everything you have done and you can see how hard you all work together. Thank you, Mr&Mrs Bedson

The Upper House is a beautiful old building with established gardens, lovely rooms, excellent food and a stunning location but the it's greatest asset by far are it's staff. Ellie and the wider Team are simply amazing. Supportive and attentive is just the right amount, our day ran like clockwork and feedback from the guests too was impressive. We had the most amazing day, Ellie, Sam and the team were attentive and professional. Throughout the whole process of planning the wedding and on the day, the team reassaured us especially myself and no question was a silly question. The food was incredible, everyone complimented on it and our evening guest who was gluten free was amazed at the choice she received. Also the little congratulations chocolate on our deserts did not go unnoticed, along with all the little touches. The weather even allowed us to have our drinks reception outside. On the morning of the wedding day Ellie came to see how I was feeling and made sure the day ran smoothly, even when a supplier hadn't arrived Ellie sorted it and we could enjoy being with our guests. If anyone is looking to get married at a beautiful venue, we will recommend The Upper House in a heartbeat.

Very professional and responsive service
Very attentive and we didn’t feel like we were ‘just another wedding’ as they are experienced with lots of functions. They were happy to answer questions along the way from us and my parents and always gave us coffee at meetings. Pleasant to deal with and very responsive to emails. We were able to come in the night before and set up and move furniture around. Nice to be met by the main wedding organiser when we arrived on the day from the church. All our gifts were moved to our room after the do and we had late check out and room service included. Our timings slipped a little and they took initiative and put our evening guests in the bar when we had planned to meet them all at the door. Food was really nice and all served in good time.The Upper House Hotel's reply:
