From the moment we set eyes on this venue, we loved it! We're from London, but couldn't find anything near us that met our requirements - an industrial venue with historic features and accommodation. The team at The Pumping House (Lian especially!) were amazing to work with. They allowed us access to the venue to decorate, and provided accommodation for two nights. This made such a huge difference as we had so many family members traveling and staying over. The build up was seamless and on the day, we felt so reassured that everything was totally under control. We had the sharing menu and the team were brilliant at making sure our guests were fed and watered. We had so many comments saying how full they were and how wonderful the tapas food was. We stumbled upon The Pumping House while doing a google search for 'quirky wedding venue' and we were not disappointed. The Pumping House is beyond beautiful inside and out. Inside there are multiple quirky different rooms, not to mention the games room which kept the 11 children at our wedding thoroughly entertained and they ranged in age from 2 up to 15. The engine hall and ceremony room are both beautiful well lit and rooms and the perfect size for any size wedding. Viewing the engine hall from the balcony above is an added bonus. We spent about 20 minutes just looking down at our guests enjoying themselves. There is an area for the evening reception disco in the engine hall also and due to this it means there is absolutely no turn around, our guests were not expected to leave the room while everything was changed for the reception because they did this without us even really noticing after our wedding breakfast. Speaking of wedding breakfast. The food was absolutely divine! We opted for the 3 course meal and were able to give our guests a choice and we did not have one person say anything negative about the meal, we still have people telling us now 2 weeks on how delicious it was. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Our wedding coordinator Gemma was out of this world. We told her our vision and dream for our perfect wedding day and she went above and beyond to make this dream a reality. Turning up in the morning of our wedding and seeing everything exactly how we had described was the best feeling in the world. The day ran so smoothly and that is solely down to Gemma. Not one thing went wrong. With us being two brides we didn't want to see each other, she did a fantastic job of making sure this didn't happen. We are beyond happy and grateful with our whole experience from the initial look around right up to our wedding and beyond. We can not recommend this stunning venue enough not to mention the amazing staff that come with it. If we had to do our wedding day again we would not change a thing about how it went. Thank you Gemma so so much you made our dream wedding come true and we will be forever grateful. -
