We had an amazing experience with Zak and the team at The Oystercatcher for our wedding. Any question we had was answered quickly and the team were very accommodating with all of our ideas and vision. Zak helped with our timetable for the day and everything ran very smoothly. The food was great, service was friendly and our guests have the best time! We just wanted to say a big thank you to the whole team! We would definitely recommend! -

Absolutely flawless
We had the most amazing wedding at the Oystercatcher and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
From the inital planning stages, I felt confident that the team knew what they were doing and would be able to deliver an excellent day without much stress on our part. Laura is all over the detail and has sensible and helpful suggestions. She plans everything down to the minute and I just had no concerns in the lead up that everything wouldn't go to plan. Which says a lot when I'm naturally an anxious person!
On the day, the team just excelled. They liaised with all the suppliers and laid out all our decorations, so that we could just relax. No ask was too much.
We had a gloriously sunny May day, which made the setting just incredible. Drinks outside went down a treat and the canapés were super generous (which is definitely a theme on the food front).
We have had so many compliments on the food from guests. We've been to a lot of weddings, and mass catering is tricky to get right. We had c. 80 guests and every meal was meticulously prepared and delivered. Not to mention generous and delicious. I was so impressed with the organisation of the serving staff. The team were also really helpful in catering to dietary requirements.
I can't end without mentioning the staff. Every staff member working genuinely looked like they were really enjoying themselves and could not have been more helpful. I remember talking to the person who served me and my husband our meals, and she was so happy that she "got to serve the bride and groom". Everyone had big smiles on their faces and really helped with the relaxed, joy filled vibe we were going for.
If you fancy a wedding with a bit of a difference, a personal touch, a fantastic venue and backdrop, delicious food and lovely staff, you're looking at the right place!
Thank you to everyone at the Oystercatcher- you gave us a day we'll never forget. We'll be back for some more delicious food on our anniversary next year! -

Just amazing and the perfect day!
We wanted a small, no fuss wedding and to find a venue that had great space but also felt intimate for our small party of guests. We love Greenwich, so to find The Oyster Catcher with walking distance from the main attractions in Greenwich, along with the amazing views of London and the Thames we fell in love with it straight away. Laura is an amazing events organiser, she ensures everything is well communicated and food tasting is arranged in advance. The upstairs space in the venue was great for what we wanted, table space for food, but a space for welcome drinks and of course dancing after dinner. If you are looking for a venue that is chilled, great value for money and no stress involved then this is your place. Laura and the team did everything for us on the day with set up and such amazing service, all our guests loved the food and said what amazing staff the venue had! We honestly cant thank you enough for making our day so perfect and hosting our wedding. -

Having worked a lot of weddings ourselves we were determined to plan our wedding to be a little bit different. We loved the idea of having something easy and simple, but also that reflected our personalities and The Oystercatcher was the perfect match. The floor-to-ceiling windows, open-plan seating and chic decor made it an ideal setting for our wedding. The view of the city was sensational and the food was utterly sublime.
We had a really great experience working with Laura - she made the logistics really easy and never put pressure on us to do something we didn’t feel would fit our wedding. We and our guests were really well looked after by the staff at the Oystercatcher and we loved being able to add our wedding logo on to the top of our welcome cocktails!
It felt really special to have the whole venue booked out for our event and in the evening our guests enjoyed the flexibility of being outside watching the view, upstairs enjoying some quiet space, or downstairs dancing with our incredible 7-piece band.
We got a bit frustrated by was the minimum spends - make sure you fully understand this before booking to know how it will impact your booking. We also booked under the principle we could have more seated guests than was actually possible which did through a spanner in the works…
We’ll be back to visit The Oystercatcher for many date nights, but in the meantime we would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of hosting their wedding there! -

We had our wedding at the Oystercatcher in August 2023. We used to live in Greenwich and love being by the river, so the location was spot on. The first floor has floor to ceiling windows with views up and down the Thames. We had eaten at the Oystercatcher several times previously and really liked the food, so that was another reason we chose it. On a very practical note, we needed a venue that was wheelchair accessible as some of our family have mobility issues.
We originally booked for quite a small party, around 40 guests for the wedding breakfast. As our plans developed, we added more guests for the evening, but Laura (the Events Manager) was always flexible and open to changes.
We had a great tasting session, and Laura was happy to schedule it at a time that worked for us as the usual evening time didn't really suit due to childcare issues.
I really liked working with Laura as the way she planned timings and the order of the day was exactly how I would plan things in other situations.
On the day, the venue looked fabulous, thanks to Laura and the team, combined with our amazing florist Joanne Truby's work.
Service was great and the food was delicious. The only issue was the fish main course that we had ordered - having tried it in the tasting session -came out looking very different.
It was a great venue for the evening as well - it felt like a great party. One end of the 1st floor was turned into a small dance floor with the DJ and a photo booth beside it. Would definitely recommend for a relaxed wedding in London with great food, drink and views of the river!
