Everything about the Moat House was perfect for
our wedding, we had such a fantastic day.
The organisation from our first appointment to the day after the wedding was spot on, staff were all brilliant, food fantastic, Lexie was a great MC and wedding planner for us, nothing was too much trouble. The venue were flexible where needed, location beautiful (less weeds in the lake would have made the rowing a little easier 😄😄)
I would highly recommend The Moat House -

What can we say? From the very beginning Lexie was fabulous and had such a positive approach to give us the best day ever! My goodness, did she deliver? Absolutely she did. She did not disappoint in any way. The venue was beautiful, the rooms were perfect as was the food.
We held our ceremony in The Orangery with sun blazing through the windows, surrounded by flowers. The room was decorated beautifully and was spotless. We had taken along some of our own decorations which Lexie and the team helped to put out on our behalf.
Lexie orchestrated the timings for the day and was in charge of the music, which allowed our Celebrant to concentrate on our service.
After the service we went into the gardens to be served instantly with champagne and canapés. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
Our Wedding Breakfast was delicious. We entered a beautiful and tastefully decorated room filled with sunflowers and candelabras and the glassware and silver cutlery were all immaculate.
After the meal we walked around the venue, making the most of the beautiful garden, surroundings and the canal which provided us with some wonderful photo opportunities.
Throughout the whole day Lexie kept us on track for each event (cake, dance, speeches). Every request we made of Lexie was met with a positive response.
The BBQ on the evening was delicious and was freshly cooked to perfection.
We were immensely satisfied with the whole day and lead-up to the event.
Lexie is a credit to the Moat House for her care, attention to detail and patience.

We cant thank the Moat House enough for our perfect wedding day!
From the second we booked it until the actual day we had meetings and emails to keep us updated and the opportunity to discuss our preferences.
The Moat house was a perfect setting for our photographs. It was a very hot day and thankfully the Colin Lewis suite was air conditioned and plenty shady spots outside.
We went for the canapés and deluxe cooler option which our guests enjoyed and gave great feedback.
The wedding breakfast was everything we wanted from the entrance of our wedding party with tambourines, big shout out to Lexie who ensured this went smoothly and a party atmosphere which we asked for, Lexie was there all day for us to call on for help when needed which was great and reassuring, big thanks to Lexie!
The three course meal was delicious, we went for the vegetable soup, braised beef and ale pie and apple frangipane which went down perfectly, one guest commented, best pie they have ever eaten!!( big ups to the chef)A nice touch with the brandy snaps, fudge and strawberry after the meal.
We had the bbq for the evening which again we had so many positive comments about the food, its a shame we didn’t have any as we were too busy dancing and celebrating with our guests, they was very accommodating for our band(Fools life, fantastic band by the way definitely recommend)
We would definitely recommend The Moat House in every way for a wedding and look forward to going back on our 1 year anniversary. Louise and IanThe Moat House Hotel's reply:

We booked the Moathouse for our wedding reception, due to having a church service, and was given full access to get ready all day at the beautiful venue! Staff from all departments were incredible and on hand to help with any requests from the very first email. Beautiful backdrops for photographs. Pricing was in range with local venues, but customer service I don’t think could be matched anywhere! Would 100% recommend, and looking forward to returning for our anniversary!The Moat House Hotel's reply:

We've loved this venue for a very long time and we knew picking it would not be a mistake. From the planning of meetings to support on the day, the wedding team were incredible. It's a perfect venue for those who want guests to stay as the location and aesthetic is great. We felt informed and supported at every stage; from Lexie listening to all our ideas to then Hannah executing it on the day it was a dream. We loved having our wedding at The Moat House! Hannah was our wedding coordinator on the day and she was so so good. Our experience planning with the moat house was firstly passed between multiple coordinators, which was no issue for us as every part of our day was communicated between them perfectly over the numerous appointments. However, when the time came for Hannah to bring it all to life she did not disappoint. Her commitment to bringing us the day of our dreams knew no ends. We had the day that some others may consider their worst nightmare: pouring down rain, dark skies and groom cutting his lip at 6am and still bleeding at our ceremony (I know, crazy). However, with the help of our amazing team of vendors we still had the most amazing time. Hannah was amazing in running to find a plaster to stop my bleeding husband and she even helped rearrange our schedule to give us time to have our couple pictures in the hour of sunshine we had available. What could have been really worrying and stressful, was made wonderful as every single moment was met with a calm smile and can do attitude and that energy honestly resonated through us all. I could not recommend them more. We were incredibly happy with the flexibility of our wedding package too and how valuable it all felt with the complimentary rooms and wonderful service. I know that before we booked our wedding here, we had never even heard of the Moat House, but as soon as we got there, we knew it was the place for us. We will be returning regularly and be forever grateful for the magical day we spent at this beautiful place.The Moat House Hotel's reply:

Amazing Venue, Staff and Coordinator!
What can I say, The Moat house was absolutely stunning!
The sun came out which made the orangery beautiful seeing it all lit up in natural light where all the guest couldn’t get over how special it was.
All the staff and our coordinator Lexie, just done amazing! They all had great communication to all my questions and queries, they always had time for me when I need any reassurance on all my planning even down to the smallest details. Nothing was ever missed.
Lexie my wedding coordinator was incredible before, during and after our wedding. Lexie was outstanding and everything for our day was crossed and dotted for every little detail and she actioned my 2 year vision perfectly!
Great venue for endless memories that was created in such a beautiful setting. 🤍

The staff at the Moat house and wedding coordination team were in a nutshell exceptional. They were attentive and responsive, on the day as well as with correspondence. The venue and grounds are beautiful. The costs were fair budget friendly, providing options to suit all our needs. The food and drink were spot on too! Unreal venue to host our special day - coordinated by the amazing Lexie and Team! March 2026
1000% recommend the moat house to capture your special day. We got married March 2026 here. The whole experience of booking the wedding/regular appointments and communications nothing was too big to ask and always felt comfortable in the hands of the moat house wedding team. Everything was clear in advance and the wedding team as a whole are a credit to the venue!
Special mention to Lexie for everything she did to make our wedding experience and wedding day so special and all guests mentioned how organised the day was and how helpful Lexie + other team members were. Lexie made us feel at ease the whole day and was always very friendly and helpful and we cannot thank her enough. If you are looking for a venue, please don’t think twice of booking this venue. The surrounding grounds are fantastic and some special places to capture memories (including the rowing boat which is a great idea).
