"The Horn of Plenty in Tavistock was an absolute dream for our wedding day! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning views and charming atmosphere of the venue. The team went above and beyond to make our day truly special, especially Shirna, nothing was too much trouble and she made sure every detail was perfect. The food was exceptional, and the service was friendly and attentive, The elegant décor and beautiful surroundings created the perfect setting for our ceremony and reception. Magical wedding day
The team at the Horn of Plenty guided us seamlessly through the organising of our wedding. The day was amazing, thank you Shirna and the team.
The venue is beautiful, tastefully decorated and set in the outstanding grounds with beautiful views.
The food was delicious and the choice of wines is plentiful.
We wish we could do it all again 💕

We had the most magical day at The Horn of Plenty. Shirna made the initial planning to our big day an absolute dream. We had a micro wedding planned in just two months. The venue is beautiful, the staff so professional, friendly and accommodating. The food was incredible. I can't thank everyone enough for making our special day so perfect.

We recently had our wedding at The Horn of Plenty and it truly exceeded all of our expectations. From the breathtaking views to the flawless service, everything about the day was perfect.
The venue itself is stunning, set in the heart of the countryside, and offers an elegant blend of a country house with modern touches. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and while we had our ceremony indoors due to the weather, we were able to make full use of the outside space when it cleared up. The scenery made for some amazing photos, and our guests couldn’t stop commenting on how picturesque the surroundings were. The whole atmosphere was relaxed yet incredibly refined - a beautiful mix of rustic charm and sophistication.
A massive thank you to Shrina and Jess, who were absolutely fantastic throughout the entire wedding planning process. They were so helpful, attentive, and calm during the lead-up to the wedding, which was honestly a lifesaver with all the planning stress. We had a few personal touches we wanted to add, like custom signage and signature cocktails for our celebration drinks, and they were more than happy to accept our ideas and guide us on the best way to incorporate them. The staff at The Horn of Plenty were wonderful, polite, professional, and accommodating. We felt supported every step of the way, and the team’s attention to detail made our entire wedding weekend smooth and memorable. All of our guests had an amazing time, which was such a relief!
Where do I even start with the food? It was incredible. The process of creating our menu with the chef was one of our favorite parts of the planning. They really listened to our preferences and ensured that everything, from the canapés to the three-course meal, paired beautifully. We loved that we had the opportunity to try everything beforehand, which allowed us to truly enjoy the flavors on the day without any wedding-day chaos taking over. Our guests are still raving about the food months later, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for anything better. The evening food went down a treat too! Being able to choose that too was a great touch and helped us craft the perfect experience for everyone.
All the rooms at The Horn of Plenty were lovely, clean, spacious and perfect for our guests who stayed overnight. It was clear the venue really took pride in making sure everyone was comfortable. The breakfast the next morning was a real highlight, with plenty of options that satisfied everyone’s needs after a long night of celebration.
The Horn of Plenty made our wedding day everything we could have dreamed of and more. From the stunning setting and seamless service to the unforgettable food and drink, it was a truly magical experience. The team went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect, and we can’t thank them enough for making our special day so extraordinary. If you’re looking for a venue that offers a mix of elegance, charm, and exceptional service, we wholeheartedly recommend The Horn of Plenty.

The best day of our lives
We cannot recommend the Horn of Plenty enough. We hired the whole hotel, and from the bespoke food (thanks Kit) to the service, as well as the beauty of the place/location we could not have asked for more. The wedding planning team were superb and all the guests were totally amazed, saying what a magical event it was. The dogs had fun too! We live local and this is undoubtably the best place to go -

The staff at the Horn of Plenty made our wedding day better than we could have imagined. We payed for exclusive use which was a really good decision. The organisation was excellent, the food was divine and the day ran seamlessly without any issues. We had good weather so could use the outside space for photos and for mingling and the views were beautiful. Our guests commented on how lovely their rooms were. Being able to design our own wedding breakfast menu was a wonderful experience and the chef took on board our feedback after the tasting. We had so many guests comment that the food was the best they'd ever had, even in top London restaurants, and people saying it was the best wedding they'd been to. The staff worked well with our other suppliers such as the florist and communication was very good. They were all friendly and helpful. The day couldn't have been better and we wish we could do it all over again! -

We couldn’t have been more pleased with our intimate wedding at the Horn of Plenty - breathtaking views, incredible wedding planners, fantastic food.
Our wedding was planned pretty speedily and Jess & Shirna provided brilliant support in the lead up to our big day, no question was too small and were so helpful (even providing a list of recommended local suppliers who had worked at the venue before ((all incredible). We viewed another venue nearby before, but our tour with Jess was so detailed and was reassured that the venue would make our day super special, there was no contest.
Our wedding day being in Feb 2024, did mean that rain was very much a part of the day. But in all honestly, the views are so spectacular it really wouldn’t have matter what the weather was and this really came through in our photos. There are so many great spots to get those special couple shots on the grounds.
The rooms were all amazing and our guests were very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was a real treat and without requesting they even made a table for us all to sit together before our guests began their travels home.
The day itself ran so smoothly and all the staff were so kind and helpful.
Would 100% recommend! -

What an amazing venue, Shirna and Jess couldn't do more for us and nothing was too much. We knew on our first visit that this was the venue for us.
They helped us plan the day and gave us lists of recommended local suppliers (all who we used were brilliant) and things we needed to do at different times, to make sure we stayed on top of our wedding prep. For someone who had no idea about wedding logistics this was so helpful.
We met with the chef to discuss our meal options and came up with the most delicious wedding menu, so many compliments from our guests on how incredible the food was. For anyone reading this who is interested our main meals were beef wellington, mushroom wellington and duck breast. These were as delicious on the day as they were at our tasting meal (few pics attached).
We hired the whole hotel for the day with 70 guests for the day and 120 in the evening. I was slightly worried it might be a bit cramped but actually it wasn't at all and everyone stayed together, danced, drank and ate cake!
We had a few children with us during the day, ages from 18months to 15years and they were as looked after as all the adults.
Our wedding was in March so we didn't expect glorious weather but we managed a confetti photo and some of just the two of us outside. We then had a few family photos in the library when the rain came.
The rooms were all lovely, I stayed in room 4 the night before the wedding, and room 15 the night of the wedding, both beautiful and spacious. It was lovely to get ready in the hotel the morning of the wedding (highly recommend this to brides), with a big enough room to have all my bridesmaids in with me.
The staff on the day were incredible and they made the day run so smoothly, we didn't need to worry about anything and could fully embrace our wedding day.
Without a doubt the right choice for our wedding and anyone considering the Horn of Plenty as a venue you won't regret it. Beautiful scenery, wonderful staff, great food and having the whole hotel to ourselves, we couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect wedding.The Horn Of Plenty's reply:
