Genuinely not sure where to start with the Harbour Chapel.
We booked the Harbour Chapel over a year and a half ago with Fiona, when we both fell in LOVE with the venue, it's really breathtaking when you step inside, with its stained glass windows and vibrant colours (inside and out). But it's the level of detail! every inch of it is stunning and intricate.
Throughout the year Fiona answered every email, answered any call, no question was too big or small. Fiona even called suppliers for me if I had any problems and let my family visit as many times as they wanted to see the venue again. The costings are unbelievably reasonable compared to other venues we viewed. And most importantly we really trusted Fiona, the Harbour Chapel does not feel like a corporate wedding in any shape or form, every step is treated with so much care, and every couple is made to feel very special.
We originally had a separate wedding venue for our evening reception and this fell through, and Fiona was straight to the rescue and helped sort our catering and band to organise the wedding to be the full day, I felt like we were in such safe hands as she reassured me about the day, (we had originally very big guest numbers, but we had around 90 guests on the day and the chapel was more than enough room - huge dancefloor!).
In the weeks leading up, there were prep meetings and calls, Fiona even accommodated us to have a short rehearsal. It felt like she was just as excited as we were! I am quite an anxious person, but on the day I just knew the chapel had everything in hand, so those weeks and the morning before the wedding was a relaxed experience.
When I arrived at the Chapel on the day, Fiona helped me out of the wedding car and gave me some breathing exercises to calm me down! (very needed). And then we had the best day of our lives.
Our ceremony was flawless, every piece of personal decor I wanted was all perfectly laid out for guests to see, the harbour provided the most stunning backdrop to our wedding photos (and because it's so close we were hardly away), our drinks reception had a wonderful ambience and it was lovely everyone was all in the one room chatting, and I got so many compliments for the canapes (Fiona had some set aside for us).
The chapel is then transformed into the most unique dining venue I've ever seen, the speeches felt so intimate with all our guests and yet momentous thanks to the beautiful historic pulpit! No one has wedding speech photos like we do! I've not even got started on the food!! Kris and her team blew us away, someone told me it was one of the best chicken dishes they ever had!! The pizza in the evening was even second to none. The meal felt like a fine dining experience.
My elderly aunt and my pregnant bridesmaid both told me separately that they had been treated like "VIPs" all day, by Fiona and her staff. There were cushions for them on the seats for the whole day. Every member of the team was so welcoming, helpful, and attentive.
The chapel then became the ultimate party, huge dance floor, plenty of seating, and a quick bar, the acoustics provided an amazing sound for the live band we had. Even into the night Fiona and her team made us feel special, grabbing drinks for us, nothing was too much. And Fiona had all our important documents and gifts organised for us leaving.
I genuinely get emotional writing this, as I can't believe how lucky we were to have stumbled upon the harbour chapel. Everyone has been commenting on the beauty of the venue, the kindness of its staff, and the excellence of the food. The venue has so much heart, and I think the Harbour Chapel is a place we'll both miss and hold very dear. We'll always remember it and our truly wonderful day, we'll never be able to thank Fiona and her team enough. The Harbour Chapel is the most beautiful, enchanting and perfectly sized venue you could wish for.
The chapel has been renovated perfectly with lots of touches from its past. The stained glass windows are breathtaking. Our first visit to the chapel was so emotional even standing looking up to the windows.
We got married at the chapel in March 2025 and had only set the ball rolling with a phone call to Fiona in January when we found an available date.
We live in Lancashire and have family around Dunbar so had seen the chapel on previous visits and knew this was the perfect place for our wedding.
Victoria was absolutely brilliant and talked us through everything we needed from local celebrants, types of ceremonies, cake suppliers, flowers, photographers, music, drinks, food suppliers, bar snacks, local hotels etc which was a huge help and took all the stress away from what can be an overwhelming time.
After a very emotional start to the wedding (I couldn’t stop crying) and the support from Fiona and Victoria - we had the perfect wedding with our 20 guests.
The weather on the day was sunny and warm so we were able to walk across to the harbour for some great photographs and then back to the chapel for fizz, cake and nibbles.
It’s just the perfect chapel for any size of gathering from elopements to larger groups.
We were also able to include our 2 dogs which made our day even more special. We also picked our own play lists for each part of the ceremony.

An amazing, quaint and special venue, great staff and food, lovely harbour location make for the most perfect wedding day!
We had our wedding day in the Harbour Chapel on the 4th of October. We didnt want a typical "hotel" wedding, we wanted somewhere that had character, quirkyness and somewhere that stood out, the Harbour Chapel delivered on all of these. From the moment we stepped into the venue in January 2024, we knew we were going to have our wedding there.
Fiona made the whole process very easy, her communication was great and she was only always an email or message away. She always went above and beyond, even giving Teddy a bottle of wine for his birthday. It is the little things that count! She also dropped off our wedding decorations to our hotel on the morning after the wedding, one job less for us to do. She is always thinking ahead.
Fiona was on hand all day during our wedding day, she ensured we had a drink in hand at all times and anything we asked, wasnt too much trouble!
The chapel is quaint, romantic and the ambiance is perfect for a wedding! If you are looking for a different but fabulous wedding venue, look no further!

From the minute we got in touch with the Harbour Chapel about enquiring to see the venue for our wedding Fiona was incredible. She booked us in within days of asking. She showed us around the absolutely stunning Chapel and told us all about the possibilities and we booked a date there and then!! She was incredible throughout the whole planning process too. Went above and beyond to make the day so special and that everything went smoothly. She really is amazing. On our wedding day she was here, there and everywhere making sure we were good, calm and ready for whatever was next. The day was perfect from start to finish thanks to Fiona and her team! Cant recommend them and the venue enough. Beautiful people running a beautiful venue -

The best venue ever.
Great venue for anyone wanting somewhere local. Fiona & her team are outstanding. Make everything so personal for your day and nothing is a hastle. I wish I could do it all over again at this amazing place!The Harbour Chapel's reply:

I don’t think I can put into words what an amazing venue the Harbour Chapel Dunbar is. We got married there at the beginning of April 24.
From the day we rang and spoke with Fiona about seeing the venue we knew it was the place for us. We were able to have our ceremony and reception all in one place, the space morphed effortlessly from chapel to dining reception and then to dance floor. The chapel is absolutely stunning and has been meticulously restored and renovated to the highest of standards and quality by the owners Ewan and Fiona. Its beauty speaks for itself and everything is totally accessible.
The food was absolutely stunning from the Good Table Catering Company. If you are thinking of booking your wedding here I would also recommend keeping the suppliers local, it was all seamless. We used Pixie Rose Florist, Morris-Jones Photography, Jill’s Cakes and the Sweetie Bank for our favours.The Harbour Chapel's reply:

Outstanding
Well where do I start! As soon as we stepped into the Harbour Chapel I just knew it was our venue. Everything about it is just stunning! We had the most amazing wedding on the 15th October. Fiona and Holly were an absolute dream to work with, nothing was a problem and they are both so lovely. We had the most perfect wedding that completely exceeded all our expectations. It was everything we could have dreamed of and more! We loved every minute of the day and everything went so smoothly thanks to Fiona, Holly and all the team. All our guests commented on how beautiful the venue is and how lovely all the team were. Now Dunbar and the Harbour Chapel hold a very special place in our hearts. Once you step inside, you just know.
The Harbour chapel was a venue that we knew as soon as we walked through the door it was a yes! Understated and charming on the outside making the wow factor even better when you step inside! Fiona, the owner, has been a dream to work with for the last year or so to help us plan from start to finish, being flexible when we needed to make any changes as our venue we planned to have meals at fell though, Fiona sorted us out straight away and we ended up staying at the chapel for this and I’m so so glad we did! But most importantly Fiona was a friend through the entire process. She didn’t just do her job, she went above and beyond to practically become our person wedding planner, giving us recommendations for supplier from cakes to kilts to flowers (even though we didn’t feel we needed flowers as Fiona even had lanterns we could use!). Our ceremony was small but the chapel held us all perfectly and didn’t feel “too big” and instead felt romantic and emotive, the perfect backdrop for our photographs! Paige who was working behind the bar was amazing and so attentive to everything we needed. The Battery just at the bottom of the hill was lot by golden sun in the vending which made for some spectacular photos too. We couldn’t recommend the Harbour Chapel enough!
