We just had the most incredible wedding day at Sutton Bonington Hall. This beautiful house offered us everything we were looking for in a venue. It is grand and elegant but also cosy and homely. The hall and gardens are absolutely stunning and provided the perfect backdrop for our day and also our photos.
Claire is so accommodating and helpful and made us feel very welcome throughout the planning stages. The food and event management provided by Portfolio events was exceptional and nothing was too much of a problem to make our day perfect.
It was lovely to be able to go in the day before to add our own decorations and little touches too. Not many places offer this, so it was a lovely luxury. The fact that they only host a few weddings a year and they provide exclusive use on your day makes it feel extra special too.
As soon as we saw the place, we couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. I’m so glad we did and cannot recommend it highly enough. -

We had the most incredible wedding at Sutton Bonington Hall, and cannot recommend it highly enough as a venue. We were looking for somewhere that would cater for 100 guests, but would still feel cosy and intimate. Sutton Bonington was perfect in this respect, as it’s first and foremost a family home. The house and gardens are beautiful, and there are several different rooms and spaces which meant that our guests could spread out during the afternoon and evening. We were particularly keen to have somewhere quieter for our more introverted guests to retreat, and the library was perfect for this.
Claire, the owner, was so helpful from the very first meeting and knows the house and gardens well, so she was able to give great recommendations for how to structure our day. She was also extremely patient and answered all our many questions!
Portfolio Events are the preferred suppliers for catering and they also act as event managers as well. Again, we cannot recommend them highly enough. The food was absolutely delicious, lots of people said how good it was, including our guests with special dietary requirements. They were really flexible and enabled us to tailor the food and drinks menus to suit us. Charlotte met with us in advance and helped us plan the day in terms of food and timings etc. and helped us make sure the day went as smoothly as possible and we didn't have to worry about anything on the day. She was really organised and took such detailed notes of what we wanted, and helped us make it really personal and unique to us.
We were able to set up the afternoon before, which meant we didn't have to worry about anything on the day of the wedding.
On the day, Jel and the team were fantastic! All our guests said how helpful and friendly the staff were, and the team made Tom and I feel so special. They brought us drinks especially and made sure we got food throughout the day (it's easy to miss out on such a whirlwind of a day!) There were also a couple of things that didn't go to plan (due to me feeling unwell!), but Jel and the team were incredibly flexible and worked with our bridal party to adapt to the situation and made me feel so supported. It was wonderful to know that we were in such experienced and capable hands, and we didn't have to worry on the day at all.
In terms of entertainment we were able to have garden games during the afternoon, and a Silent Disco in the evening. We also had a Photo Booth in the main entrance hall.
It was really special to be able to stay in the bridal suite on the evening of the wedding - and lovely to be able to just head upstairs after our guests were gone. On the morning after, Claire had kindly set up breakfast for Tom and I in the Library - which was such a lovely touch and a great way to end an amazing experience. We wish we could do it all over again!

The most botanical venue with a wall of jasmine in the reception room and spectacular gardens to wonder around in and have your photos. We loved that the venue was exclusively ours for the day and the different rooms such as the library accommodated for every guests needs. -

The perfect wedding venue, from the moment we first visited the Hall we knew we wanted to have our big day here. The building and gardens hold so much character, truly a unique venue for an intimate wedding. We can't speak highly enough of Claire the owner and the catering company Portfolio Events who made our wedding as stress-free and enjoyable as possible! -
