We got married at Stonehouse Court in July 2026, and this is a review I never imagined I’d have to write.
The venue itself is beautiful, and we did have a wonderful wedding day surrounded by our family and friends. Many members of the team worked incredibly hard, and we are genuinely grateful for that.
Unfortunately, our overall experience fell well below what we expected for such an important occasion.
Throughout much of the planning, it often felt like we were driving the communication rather than being guided through it. On the wedding morning, our flowers and buttonholes were misplaced, causing unnecessary stress before eventually being found. Amongst other issues, the wedding breakfast was served very slowly and in a staggered manner, the microphones failed during speeches, and several of our guests experienced problems with their rooms.
The most upsetting part of our experience came on our wedding night, when we discovered our bed had been contaminated and had to be remade in the early hours of the morning. While the incident itself was distressing, what has stayed with us most is how our complaint was handled afterwards. Rather than feeling listened to, we were left feeling that our honesty had been questioned, despite reporting the issue immediately, taking photographs at the request of housekeeping, and cooperating fully throughout the investigation.
Mistakes can happen at any venue. What defines a business is how it responds to them. Sadly, after weeks of correspondence and what was described as an independent review, we were left feeling that our concerns had never really been heard. The outcome felt predetermined, with greater weight being placed on internal processes than on our experience as customers.
It’s genuinely upsetting because we chose Stonehouse Court hoping it would become somewhere we would return to for anniversaries and happy memories. Instead, although we look back fondly on marrying each other, our memories of the venue have been overshadowed by the planning process, our wedding night, and the way our complaint was handled afterwards.
It is somewhere we never imagined we’d feel uncomfortable returning to, but sadly that’s where we find ourselves. More than anything, we just feel genuinely gutted by how things have turned out. -

Absolutely gorgeous venue and fantastic value for money.
All the staff working our wedding that day were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, everyone was so polite and energetic. They really were fab.
Our toastmaster Richard was wonderful too! Kept the day running smoothly and our happiness really was his priority. He’s got the patience of a saint too!!
The grounds are stunning and there are plenty of spots for beautiful photos.
