Wow. What a day we had! It was the most perfect day we could have ever dreamt of. Sophie & the team are amazing from the minute you enquire to the big day. We knew the minute we walked into the venue for a show around, it was going to be THE venue. Sophie helped us the whole journey to ensure we had everything perfect for our big day - and perfect it was! Great value for money, beautiful venue & grounds and Sophie is just amazing!!! Thank you so so so much for ensuring our day was so perfect & just as we imagined. We wish we could do it all again!! Highly recommend! -

The Best Day of Our Lives
We recently held our wedding at Smeetham Hall barn and we have to say everything was magical and the day was perfect.
We had a few venue changes before we found Smeetham and we are so happy that by the will of the universe we not only found the venue but the PERFECT venue for any type of wedding.
From the first visit to look around Sophie and her team were amazing, they were clear and concise in all aspects of what the venue offered and how they would help us plan our perfect day. They really are specialists in what they do and we are so grateful and privileged for their expertise.
Our day went without a hitch as Sophie, Zoe and the team guided us through, thinking of every detail to ensure that our day was catered for our individuality.
The venue is excellent value for money, the best possible when we compare to our original venue. The rustic feel of the barn and the gardens make it a perfect place for exquisite photography and still allows for modern twists. They were able to accommodate our various form of entertainment easily and seamlessly, whether it be the games and bouncy castle in the courtyard for the children, our acoustic live sessions after the ceremony, and the live band and DJ sets for the reception, literally the team will do ANYTHING to make your day perfect. Their ability to make you feel comfortable, looked after and keep everything flowing on your big day is second to none. Our guests commented on how beautiful the venue is and how the atmosphere was perfect. WE THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS THE BEST DAY OF OUR LIVES.
The catering for our big day was unreal, many of our guests commented that the food was among the best they had ever eaten at any wedding they had ever attended. Hayley helped us choose our perfect menu letting us change minor details where we needed to accommodate specialist dietary needs to give us our perfect menu and Lucy was our representative on the day and we could not fault her at all. She and her team prepared everything from the reception drinks, through to the wedding breakfast. Her attention to me and my now husband in particular was lovely. Lucy would literally find us no matter how far we were whether it was checking if we were okay, or bringing us a drink to calm the nerves or cool us down.
Wilton and flower were also amazing, providing us with all the decorative touches we needed. They helped to guide us as we really had no idea what we needed. Highly recommend!
We highly recommend Smeetham Hall Barn, the venue is perfect for any wedding!

If you're looking for a venue that blends countryside charm, excellent service, and great value, Smeetham Hall Barn is the perfect choice. Located just outside Sudbury, this iconic pink Tudor barn is surrounded by wildflower meadows, rose gardens, and shaded woodlands, creating a romantic and rustic atmosphere. It's a stunning backdrop for photos and offers guests a peaceful countryside escape.
Sophie, Bridgit, and their team were incredibly supportive throughout our wedding planning. They provided a detailed folder of recommended suppliers and hosted events to help us find the best vendors. On the day, they ensured everything ran smoothly, from greeting us at the door to coordinating the ceremony and speeches.
Splinters catering offered a diverse menu, accommodating all our guests, including vegans and those with allergies. We had a tasting before the wedding to tailor the meals to our preferences. On the day, their service was efficient and attentive, flawlessly executing every detail.
With its beautiful setting, high level of service, and included amenities, Smeetham Hall Barn offers outstanding value for money. Their package simplifies the planning process, allowing couples to focus on the fun parts of wedding planning while leaving the logistics to the venue. Highly recommended! -

We had our wedding on the 27 July 2024 at the beautiful Smeetham Hall. When we looked around it we both knew instantly is was the place we wanted to get married. Everyone there is so chilled and friendly it has a lovely family vibe which we really liked. I’m probably one of the most unorganised people there is! But I didn’t need to worry as Sophie and the team were outstanding, thinking of every detail. Splinters the food caterers again were so helpful and accommodating and the food was impeccable. Wilton and flower the accessory company knew exactly what we needed to give our wedding the wow factor. Highly recommend to use them on your wedding day. A big thing for us was to have our own corkage which smeetham offer. This helped keep some of our cost down but even if they didn’t off this we would have still got married there.
We got married outside and it was truly breathtaking the views are stunning. Chris the videographer who comes with smeetham was awesome-even helping our photographer out with places to go photos as he knows the grounds like the back of his hand. A perfect day
As soon as we viewed Smeetham Hall Barn,we knew it was perfect for us. We had a large wedding (150 daytime guests) so we knew we needed a large versatile space which could accommodate this many guests for the wedding breakfast but also provide a large dance floor and enough space for reception drinks indoors if the weather wasn't good.
Sophie and the team were so calm and friendly but also incredibly organised and responsive to any questions we had throughout the whole process. I never felt like any question we had were too much.
On the day, the team were beyond incredible! We had various plans due to the uncertain weather forecast yet everything ran seamlessly. Their timing and ability to make everything flow without us even thinking about it is so appreciated.
So many of our guests commented on how beautiful the barn looked, how much space both indoors and outdoors there was to enjoy and what an amazing atmosphere there was inside the barn throughout the evening especially with the live band.
In terms of price, compared the other similar venues in the area we found the all inclusive package with catering amazing value. The food was so tasty and the portions are very generous!

Stunning venue powered by excellent team!
We got married at Smeetham Hall Barn on the 29th June 2024, but our relationship with Sophie and Victoria (and Bridget) goes back to 2022 when we saw how amazing the venue was. Leading up to the day, visits were always welcomed, no question was too small and no detail was left unturned. We had what I would describe as the perfect day which could not have happened without the team. The venue looked stunning in the sun and we would absolutely recommend getting married here.Smeetham Hall Barn's reply:

We had our wedding at Smeetham Hall on 25th May 2024. They’ve been incredible from start to finish. As soon as we walked in to the venue in Oct 2022, we knew it was the one. Sophie has been excellent on email and has always been available whenever we needed her. We really wanted an outdoor ceremony and hoped with May weather that this would happen. However, the British weather turned on us and the ceremony was moved in doors last minute. We can honestly say, our breaths were taken away when we walked in the barn for the ceremony. It looked absolutely gorgeous. The ceremony was so intimate and the guests and us said after, why didn’t we just do this from the beginning! The rest of our wedding day was absolute perfection. We had the first champagne tower at Smeetham, and we can say it was honestly amazing. The pictures look incredible with the house in the background. In the evening, the bar staff were amazing - it all just went so smoothly. Thank you to all of the team; Sophie, Bridget, Tom, Victoria, Lowri and Matt. From the first day of booking, we felt so special and like nothing was too much trouble.
The venue is absolutely stunning and every single member of staff is friendly, approachable and happy to help.
